That was an incredibly linear plot line, was really hoping for something to backfire and go wrong to add a bit of tension.
I know, right? Like Dala'myrr are all "Lolz, I'm burrowing under your Citadel."
Father Halos nonchalantly takes dark tinted spectacles from the bridge of his nose and inspects their craftsmanship as he shouts with divinely-amplified power, "Legend tells of a monstrous entity, trapped under Shallam, barely contained by powerful holy spells and the weight of the Jewel of the East, perhaps burrowing beneath our city isn't your wisest move, Lord of Lies."
Thousands of daemons howl and shriek as Sartan, the Malevolent roars above the
cacophony, "You can not fool me, Caliph. The Margovian has long since been freed by Lord Babel's pathetic cult, and your city will fall to the insurmountable power of Dala'myrr -- no bluff can save you now."
Father Halos returns the spectacles to his face as his voice reverberates across creation, "What legend never reported is that he wasn't alone."
A large being defying concise description rends the Dala'myrr in twain, using beak, tentacle, claw, hand, and paw to deal death to the alien horde. The beast rampages beneath the City of Light, tearing it from the countryside, sinking to bury the carnage below the sea and entrap the creature once again.
Sothantos, Lord of the Crossing screams, "YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH."
(Mhaldor): Sarapis says, "Okay, I held up my end of the bargain. So, I expect to see your 35 confirmed bookings for Ironcon by night's end, please visit our paypal page for payment info."
They refunded the money I once had in the Shallam banks. That said, was incredibly sad to know IGly that the city I had a background in was destroyed, but a mixed set of emotions also sees me kind of happy that it means Evil won, but it was a shared victory since Bal'met's creatures did the work.
"Mummy, I'm hungry, but there's no one to eat! :C"
I had a strong feeling that Shallam was going to be a city to go (I also thought that Mhaldor might have been as well) regardless. Personally, I feel sorry for those that have roleplayed in Shallam for ages, but this could be a great time to really rebuild and improve Shallam.
Really the biggest complaint I have about the event is that it is dragging out and continuing to drag out. Quite frankly, it has me losing interest in it and basically just wanting it to end. Not really caring about what happens until it does. (If that makes sense).
Part of me also feels like this event was inspired by the end of the Mayan Calender, and like once it concludes it's going to be some bizarre vision of what could occur in the future.
Naturally, I say keep up the work for the Garden members, and also let's not have this drag out for another month or two. I'd rather it go ahead and end!

I think Mhaldor will go. Which is going to feel weird. Mhaldor's got a different history to Shallam. Its a young city, which means a number of us have been involved from before its inception. This gives us a slightly different relationship with Mhaldor than members of Shallam have with her. Having something taken away from you that you've helped literally build up from nothing is going to be tough. But also quite exciting. We've done it before so we can do it again.
I won a competition awhile ago to have Chris Bourassa paint a picture of Lodi. My profile pic is the end product.
Pretty sure Sarapis will take care of the shops/houses, and the RP of fleeing a city that's being destroyed must have been pretty fun.
Neither of those needs to be taken care of. Houses have been handled, and shops? Shallam already had ultimate control over those. Once they inevitably build a new city, they can grant shops to the same people (or refuse them) as before.

It'd be even nicer if there would be an event where Europeans wouldn't have to stay up all night to attend. Reading about stuff like this afterwards in the events news creates an even bigger distance and makes it even harder to care about it all.
It's actually at a great time for me, but I work weekdays when the Serenade is. It'd probably be nicer to see more things happen over the weekend though.
Actually, thinking about it, I randomly stayed up late until 2am when the event happened where Bal'met ate Selene. Pure coincidence I was around or I'd have missed that. I really feel for the people with bad time zone schedules though.

Don't think by mentioning this you'll get them (the garden) to think, "Oh no, it's too obvious, can't nuke Mhaldor, everyone will see it coming." You guys are going down!!!!
I hope
Edit: For the sake of a good story, of course
Edit2: These smilies are disgusting... I want to get rid of them, but I'm not sure if my joking tone can be delivered via text without emoticons.
I'm a little disappointed that so much of the work for Shallam has been done for them (with them getting clans set up to mimic the city and houses as well as a God). I feel like it might have been better had the individual citizens been forced to have a roundtable and decide what to do from here - whether/how to reconstitute Houses in their old incarnation, etc. Also I hope the new city/village has a new name (not New Shallam).

Shallam. doesn't. exist.
Yes...that was the premise of the joke.
I also think today was the first time my character laughed in a very long time.

I am very sympathetic to those that lost their house, orders and city. On the other hand I need to express my joy for the destruction of Shallam.
