Good is more against Chaos, then Evil and Darkness fall into place. But Ashtan has the most people of those three factions while having the smallest percentage of its population that seems to care about conflict. Or even Chaos for that matter. Which may be in part due to the changing nature of Ashtan recently, but whenever I've raided with Targ, it's generally a small percentage of online citizens that defends.
Eleusis, on the other hand, is an occasional fight, with them bringing it to Targ and Targ only ever responding and raiding when the raids from Eleusis become more frequent. Given that there seems to be a divide between the Heartwood and the Scions Targ really tends not to give a crap about Eleusis. Of all the raids on Targ by Eleusis though, I've only seen one instance of "we're not engaging" and the rest of the time we go and fight. However, even then, especially with the posters that went up by the Scions of Nature, it's not generally seen as all of Eleusis, and more of the Scions.
ICly, Kas is glad Targ stopped Mhaldor from winning.
OOCly, I've been playing this game ten years. I remember when Mhaldor would get points in the hundreds if any. It would have been nice to see them win, given how far they've climbed.
Queueing class-based balances wasn't working if you don't have one as your regular class, which caused me some issues with my planned combo. Managed to get temper/dsl/disrupt earth, but trying to queue songs didn't happen so couldn't add limerick for impatience.
Again, Eleusis are not enemies. They're not allies, either. Ask IC if you want to find out why - pretty much everyone in Targossas will be able to tell you.
Can we drop this whole mantle of "it was clearly OOCly oriented" now plz? And post more logs of titanic hilarity?
this' only true if your RP is to ignore what Nature is IG.
Yeah, yeah, literally no one outside of Targ understands its ideology, because obviously it's totally impossible to go read all the books in Targ and ask people questions unless you join the city.
It's generally an unrealistic notion that any entity, no matter how ideological, would not consider an active (and powerful, compared to Targ) organization that vows to destroy them and acts on it an enemy and threat.
How many times did you raid and/or fight Targossas as an Eleusian, Kiet? And how many times does that compare to, say, the amount of times Eleusis fought Mhaldor during the same timespan?
Not all enemies are created equal!
Truth is, Mhaldor's been a massive (and consistent!) pain and Eleusis, for all Rangor posts, has not been, lately.
ETA: For the record, I fight Mhaldor more than every other faction combined, by a long shot. Totally makes sense to try and bring them down first and foremost, imo, from an IC perspective.

Every time I want to raid Targossas there's like 4 of you online. :(:(:(
I don't know why people who weren't even there and clearly didn't read this whole thread are still posting random, misinformed comments to slight Mhaldor. So confusing!
Mhaldor has taken what happened (which really sucked) remarkably well. Acting as if we/they are sore losers is silly.
Mhaldor and Ashtan have stopped teaming completely for the betterment of the game. Some people think Eleusis and Targossas should show the same courtesy. Literally all the excuses used to justify the alliance were used and could still be used to justify Mhashtan. The players prevent that because it's better off that way.
Eleusis has made constant efforts to push Targ away. Targ just won't extend the same courtesy every other faction does or tries to do. If you disagree with this all, fine. It does not make the opposing arguers tantrum-throwing babies or poor sports, and to sling these insults at anyone who disagrees with you is completely immature and poorly represents your city and this game.
If you have nothing to say but a misinformed, follow-the-crowd "lol tantrum," just let it rest.

I raided Targ at least a dozen times and I've only been back like a month and a half, lol. I'm probably the worst example you could have picked! I probably raided Targ more than Mhaldor. It's really common IC and OOCly for Targ to deny we ever raided them, though, which baffles me. You can look at your log to see who destroyed rooms, and surely you also manually log who raided? What's the point of pretending it didn't happen? I'm asking honestly.
The issue is that Targossas's lore says 'badass city that destroys every obstacle in its path for Good' but the players say 'let's be friends'. At that point, what's the point of Targossas instead of just keeping Shallam?
Yes, those damn extremists, if only the person stating that had some sort of legitimate stance in Eleusis. Maybe once Rangor gets Speaker (lol like that would happen) you can stop trying to marginalize a faction that's more impactful to the game than yours.
Cascades of quicksilver light streak across the firmament as the celestial voice of Ourania intones, "Oh Jarrod..."
Stuff might change if Artemis/Gaia step up and go HEY TARGOSSAS FUK U WE'RE GONNA RAZE UR SHIT WITH VOLCANOES AND VINES, but until then, any belligerence is just going to be coined into the "lol extremists u so cute" bracket again. Probably. I honestly don't care either way since conflict = more content, but there are reasons for the previous situation with Eleusis that aren't just "lol targ is shallam XD". Keep deluding yourselves if you think otherwise, no skin off my back!
This stuff still isn't titanic logs, btw. Where's people abusing reflexes to do dumb shit, or did everyone just spam holos from phase or something?

Haha that's ridiculous. That'd be like the previous Speaker performing a blood ritual in the middle of Targossas or something. It's just silly extremists
It isn't so hard to understand from an IC Targossian perspective that a city that perverts Evil and raids on average 4 times a week (Mhaldor) is worse than a city that wants to kill off Targossas but raids maybe like once a month (Eleusis - Kiet can claim he has raided a dozen times or whatever but it doesn't show on logs and I have only seen them once in the past two months). Especially given Targossian ideals and the Divine leading it doesn't even consider Eleusis as a real threat. All new novices and new citizens has to pass a quiz that says the enemy is Chaos, Evil, and Darkness and whoever hinders Creation. Eleusis is really low priority at the moment. Maybe Rangor can change that now but who really knows.
It really isn't OOC hate since most players these days have alts everywhere or have city hopped all over.
what Alliance? Tesha gave Eleusis the flag then told everyone to 'go on the offensive' which meant some just stopped participating in the CTF right there and then
I'm not sure what you would call Targossians sitting on the flag in Shastaan defending it after literally giving the flag to them to plant. Alliance fits.
No surprise though, this is the Xth CTF in a row where the same thing has happened, just wish a Targ or Eleusian God would actually crack down on them about it.
Can't really comment on defending Shastaan after Eleusis got the flag, when I left Shastaan I was the last Targ in the area and I quit the CTF immediately afterwards and went bashing instead. I know some went around still fighting (They like fighting and they had all skills in the game why not? Doesn't mean they represented an united Targ-Eleusian front) and others logged off/stopped participating
I feel like very few people actually even read the start of the reasons Tesha supported Eleusis instead. Mhaldor is the biggest threat, but one of the biggest motivators for Tesha was losing the staff like three days ago. In my mind that's a pretty good reason to lash back. I think all these claims of Eleusis/Targ allying are getting very exaggerated and that claim is being beaten to death hard. It was a much more IC personal decision in one situation than a factional decision spanning more than even the quarter of an event, let alone all of one, or beyond the event. At this point though it feels more like venting than anything else, so maybe even explaining this is in vain.

Maybe this will be the catalyst for the garden to have eleusis fall into the same category as the others in targs eyes.
I can see both sides argument but let's just make the game better moving forward.
On another note, were the CTF scores for this one really high in comparison to the last few CTFs? I remember the last scores being like 7k+ or something?
Holy fuck you people its a goddamn online text-based game. The amount of butt-hurt in this thread from all parties is stupid. So Eleusis has a stupid effigy for a little bit, who cares, calm down. Everyone needs to stop crying on forums and just go enjoy the goddamn game instead of making yourselves and everyone else miserable by constantly complaining here. That goes equally for anyone in Targossas who insists on posting asinine comments just as much as it goes for people like Jarrod who are sitting over there saying Targossas is a useless faction. All of you gtfo
So this thread has gone from: - Whining because Targ didn't want Mhaldor to win for OOC reasons. - To whining because even though IC it might make sense, they SHOULDN'T have done it for OOC reasons.
Honestly the constant negativity, whining, entitlement, and OOC faction hatred (I don't care what faction you're from, if you think I'm talking about you, I probably am) that comes after EVERY SINGLE EVENT that happens IG, regardless of what the hell happened, regardless of whether it affected your bloody character or faction or not is seriously just aggravating and depressing.
This is supposed to be a game, that we all play for fun and escapism. And some of you guys are sucking all the fun out of it.

Making a post that specifically calls one faction "whiners" while ignoring all the ranting by the other faction, as much as you try to make it seem unbiased, doesn't really serve to do anything but perpetuate the forum hate/forum wars.
Some portion of Mhaldor "whined" about Targossas helping Eleusis win the CTF. Mhaldor ICly retaliated. Some portion of Targossas "whined" about Mhaldor ICly retaliating. Your description of what's happened in the thread leaves out all of the negative comments Targossians and Eleusians have spewed, and encourages more people to respond defending the other side, etc. etc.
Just going to point that out there. Otherwise, I completely agree that every faction should just deal with this all IC. EVERY faction. And not take things personally on an OOC level.
I'm just watching the social justice happen. I love it when people call other people out for being caustic while using swear words or acting completely angry about it and fail to see the irony in it.

That was not specifically aimed at Mhaldor actually. Many people in this thread complaining weren't even from Mhaldor OR Targossas. And I wasn't necessarily referring to just this instance. That example of the top was simply to illustrate how ridiculous the thread was getting.
Though, on that note, Mhaldor and Targossas traditionally (ever since I've started playing anyway) seem to have the highest rate of people who tend to run to the forums to complain whenever there's any interaction between us, (mind you, I'm not saying the whole of Mhaldor or the whole of Targossas does this, simply that between us, we seem to have the most people who do it). Thus creating this horrible OOC dislike of the entire faction. Not because of IC reasons or IC actions, but because of the way we carry on on the forums.
was the whole ctf a dream or did you just dream of the ruins then went bonkers? I can recall someone saying if you returned to your city you snapped out of the dream and returned to it when you stepped outside.

I think it was an IC decision too, albeit a selfish one. Tesha didn't consider what Targossas wanted, only what she wanted. Evidenced by the fact that the Targossian team abandoned her after she gave away the flag. She sold Targossas out. Will their be an IC response from the rest of Targossas towards Tesha? Stay tuned to find out!
