My work is stressful and taxing; God knows there are days when it takes some serious mental reconditioning to keep positive. However, the burden becomes worth it when you get those special calls from a superior: the commander of the FCS (Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit) phoned me today and praised me for the exemplary work I did on one of her DNA cases. The two fuckers that raped and murdered a little girl got consecutive life sentences - the DNA work that I did on the case indubitably convinced the magistrate. I beamed the entire day.
Just saw Billy Idol live at Google I/O. Day one is over and I'm tired. I now have a new Google Chrome Pixel, got offered a job with the New York Times, played with google glass and the Nvidia Shield. Two days to go!
I'm a little embarrassed to say this... but I really love my friends that I've made through Achaea this year, and all my old guild mates that have stuck with me... and my boyfriend finished his Thesis and is now graduatingggggg. So we get to finally spend some time together before he goes back to Japan.
I'm so glad everything in my life is on the upside as of late.
Car is slowly coming together. Just repaired the radio and hooked it up. No longer will I be forced to drive in silence.
Now to replace the rear quarter window, do some minor mechanical work, rip out the dash to replace some wires, replace the speaker in the door that my brother stole, some body work and paint that thing.
It's not gonna look like a soccer mom van when I'm done.

Had Kanafeh for dessert after lunch at this Turkish place. It was the most delicious thing ever to grace my tongue and I've had many delicious things in the past.
The unfortunate part is that the lamb stew I had at said restaurant was rather heavy on the bell peppers. Everything combined just means I have had indigestion for the past.... 8 hours.
so far a perfect score in my basic medical terminology class, though it's only week 2. But that feel when the homework this week was supposed to be difficult and you get a perfect score
Got interviews with two different museums (one paid, one could provide research opportunities for my MA thesis and is with a lady who literally does exactly what I want to with my life) after not hearing from -any- of the other places I applied to over the last 3 months which weren't in my field, I heard back from the only two that were! (This was a nice pick-me-up after not getting funded for my first year.)
(Mhaldor's Next Top Model): Melodie says, "Get rekt scrubbbbb."
(Mhaldor's Next Top Model): You say, "Scrubbbssss."
(Mhaldor's Next Top Model): Trey says, "Austere was hangin' out the passenger side of his best friend's ride, apparently."
Laptop repair. Seems like only masochistic people love doing it. I'm one of those masochistic people. So many little parts that are easy to break, such a delicate hand needed at times.
All I need is a work space that isn't my kitchen table and I could make this my permanent job with a smile on my face. I recently realized that while I enjoy messing with software, I love working with hardware. Printing and soldering circuit boards, disassembling and reassembling PCs and laptops. That feeling of uncertainty when you start messing with the innards of a computer: wondering whether the PC will even turn on and if it will work properly.

Every time he comes to visit is just so awesome and he's so lovely :x :x
Minor rant that he broke two ribs and I am denied hugs.
(D.M.A.): Cooper says, "Kyrra is either the most innocent person in the world, or the girl who uses the most innuendo seemingly unintentionally but really on purpose."

I feel the same way about repairing my own computers, but I'm so cavalier about precautions with my own stuff that I wouldn't feel comfortable marketing my services. It's kind of a problem.
