    The Hooters in my city here isn't the popular US restaurant franchise people think of — it's a strip club here ;)

    Oh and re @Mishgul with paintball (skirmish). Best sport ever. I'm always trying to get the head shots just to mess with people!

    I can read forums and post from my new temporary workplace, this is a rave.

    Our cubicles are x2 smaller than our old office, meaning that we can easily see what everyone is doing, and my boss is sitting right behind me.

    That is not a rave. :(

    All the people helping/encouraging me as I build my first system. Really awesome as my only coding experience is this game and it's just something that I find fun, (like a puzzle but with murder). Having people get excited over what I'm doing when they see it work for the first time is an awesome feeling especially at a point in my life where I'm feeling particularly useless.

    And I should add, if you want to help me test or think of new additions, I need pretty much every class except knights and druids.
    More info if/when you ask for it.

    A great start on the first half of a semester is acting like a great safety net right now, as I'm falling behind my schoolwork hard. However, once I pull myself together, I will bounce back to a third straight A semester, hopefully!

    Well, that's wishful thinking, but I am anticipating that moment when I'll get stoked to get to work and run the home stretch.

    Yes, this is a rave. :P

    It's mid-semester break, I don't have to teach this week! Wahoo!

    So with being 'between schools' i taught at a summer school last year to, you know, pay my mortgage and not have to trade my shiny house in for a cardboard box.   It was a very new experience a wee bit out of my comfort zone - teaching music/doing music therapy for students with severe mental and physical handicaps (shaken babies, car accidents, drugged parents....think lots of wheelchairs and feeding tubes and non-verbal communication). I was teaching students from physical ages 3 to 21, plus there was the 'other side' of the program where the students were verbal and mobile (got to do folk dancing with them and we wrote our own, which we got to do all together on the last day of school). Long story short, it was an AMAZING experience and I really wanted to do it again this year, both for the fun of the thing, as well as the money/resume fodder. 

    My app had been due by March 15th last year, and so I was MAJORLY stalking the district site and the bulletin boards anytime I  subbed in that district starting in like, February. Nada. Some of my friends 'on the inside' said that the summer school positions had been posted for internal filling first, and those were due March 11th. I called anyway, since I technically had been employed by the district for school last year AND did a long-term sub over Christmas for a music teacher who had a knee replaced. The HR chick laughed (kindly) and said sorry, no. Ok. Bite some more fingernails off and be patient. 

    A month ago, the district had a referendum fail. Which means that the teachers of the arts (music, art, etc) will be the first ones riffed. Crap. Would there even BE a position fr me to sneak into this summer? Two more nails were sacrificed. 

    tl;dr, Just got a text (and an email) from two of my friends 'on the inside' saying to email HR people and recommence staling of the district site for the posting so I may yet be gainfully employed this summer! Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
