Finally went and got my haircut after so many weeks of procrastination.
I'm not gonna lie, I firmly believe that a good hairstylist can do for you what a therapist can for a fraction of the cost.
When you spend day in and day out looking at your hair in a complete mess, you feel like your life is equally chaotic and beyond your controllable. You're guaranteed to feel like shit.
It takes a good, experienced hand to tame your hair, give you a good scalp massage and clean your follicles in a way that you'd never be able to do by yourself.
Half an hour in the chair, a few snips of the scissors and you emerge like a whole new person and your hair is great so you feel great and look great.
@Skye I try to treat myself to a trip to the hairdresser's every 6-8 weeks or so, it's such a boost to the self esteem and confidence, and you get to feel pampered and special without losing an awful lot of money or spending a weekend somewhere uber fancy.
Note to the always-in-a-hurry ladies: always make time for the wash and blow-dry that's included in the price of your cut, it's as close to being a Goddess served by beautiful Celani as you might get!

Whitetail deer are crazy overpopulated these days. They really need to be harvested. I'll be doing my part in a couple weeks.
I haven't had an opportunity to get into the stand more than three or four times all season, and haven't bagged anything. Shoot a few for the both of us!
I'll be hunting and Mississippi as well this year, so I'll do what I can! However, I don't hunt out of a stand. I either build my own blind or hide in some brush. It makes it less like grocery shopping with a rifle.
I finally got to shoot my 6.5 Grendel rifle at long distances today!

It's really perked up my day.

Hit the Hackers motherload on customer site today. Can't give details of course, but it's such a rush and the look in senior staff's faces is worth a million words.
I saw the new Star Wars movie (midnight screenings in Australia).
But I can't discuss it yet, because everyone threatened to atlatl me if I talked about it.
(Yes, this is both a rant and a rave.)

I told my clients this week that I wouldn't be here to be their case manager after they return from Christmas break. This is a rave because I managed to get through it without bawling (though that will come Tuesday, I'm sure), no one freaked out (a miracle), and one of my clients with autism spontaneously said he would miss me (a feeling word without prompting is kind of a big deal). Not everyone was here that day so some people got their letters yesterday instead. I had meetings all day and found this on my office door after one of them. I've really "injoyed" watching them all grow over the past 7.5 years. I'm going to miss this and can only pray that my future students are half as wonderful as all my clients here!
For the last week or two, we had been hearing a lot of scraping around in the attic. We had no idea what it was 'til one night, boyfriend's dad peeked up into the attic...only to have a momma raccoon come semi charging him. He, understandably, quickly shut the door to the crawlspace.
A few days later, we had a few guys come out to set up traps for her, in which she was quickly caught. She didn't hiss or was angry at all - she was quite calm throughout the whole ordeal. They came and got her the next day, and was unable to find anything else in the attic, and thought perhaps instead of having babies, she was just pregnant. This was disproved when today, we heard yowling coming out from above for the majority of the day, and thus the guys were called again.
And thus from the vents running through the house, was produced these little creatures...
Their eyes are still shut, though the guys who removed them believes they're just about to open them fair soon, so perhaps a few weeks old at best. The noises they made sounded like very vocal kittens, nearly.
Of course, being a few days without mom, we didn't get to linger too long as they obviously needed to be taken and fed as soon as possible. Four in total were found (the last was being pulled out when I took this). Having almost no experience up close with wild animals, though, and told they were both without teeth and docile, I got to hold one (which ended up being the loudest of the group of course) for a minute or two.
As you can see, he/she wasn't really in the mood to take a picture, and just wanted to be fed. Might have a few other less blurry pictures from another camera that I don't have access to right now.
Mom's being taken to be released "far, far away" from here. As she won't take the babies back now that they've been handled, the guys already have someone lined up to adopt them to keep them bottle-fed, with the apparent goal of eventually re-releasing them back into the wild.
All in all, an adorable experience.

I hate raccoons. They finger-paint with chickens and have dickish personalities.
That said, I guess those are kind of cute. It's still like looking at a baby Sith Lords.
Last winter there were these two raccoons that would visit our front door and patio at night time, they were so big and fluffy, and super adorable. Never opened the door, though. Afraid of being randomly attacked by one. We used to keep a bag of dog food out there, and they'd learned to open it and would steal the dog's food. lol. Didn't really mind. It was fun watching them climb around and look at things.

I've been hired for a job I had applied for in August.
