There's been so much rain lately. Massive thunder storms, deafening thunder claps, blinding lightning strikes.. and the power keeps cutting out but this weather is so amazing.

Attended the Global Game Jam for the 4th time this year, and went to a "show off your game" event last night. Turns out everyone really enjoyed the game, and people have been talking about it and wanting to play it since the Game Jam finished.
Its always good to see people playing your games and enjoying it, and even more so when you've built it in less then 48 hours.
The problem with my computer had to do with the operating system, obviously. There must've been an error with the boot up somewhere. But my computer was so jam-packed with stuff that there wasn't enough room to redownload the OS and trying to repair it wasn't working.
So, after much hesitance and not knowing whether it would work or not, I took the plunge and decided to do a complete wipe. Operating system, files, everything gone, restored to the day I got it. Downloaded the OS off the Internet (which I am now thoroughly convinced is the greatest invention known to man) and clicked the "restart" button, and then promptly averted my eyes while it did its thing.
The bad news: I've lost the last remnants of everything from some previous roleplay communities to which I belonged - character art, weapons and outfits I had designed with much labor over the years. I was... highly attached to them.
The good news: My computer works, Mudlet can be redownloaded, and poor Vesios' short-lived dormancy has come to an official end.
Any of my important Achaea documents get put into Dropbox. Dropbox is synced to both my computer and my phone (pictures). I did this after keeping all of my docs originally on a thumb drive that eventually bricked (I keep meaning to try to send it in to see if they can get the info off of it, but it's a bit expensive and a little low on the to-do list). I also keep a backup of my mudlet on there.
Never had any problems since. Anything on my computer, beyond things like game saves (and I could fix this too, I've just not decided to), could be lost and then easily replaced with some time.

Someone has been raiding my inspection kit at work which leaves me short and embarrassed when I got to client sites. I keep it in my ndt desk, but I also have an administration desk I sit at sometimes which is across the office. Today I got sick of it. Enough of this shit. I placed our testing dye (which looks like fresh blood) on a certain feminine objects and tossed them into my kit and waited.
About lunch time as I sat at my administration post my dubious honesty methods were reward with an soul shattering scream of horror as a co-worker stood bolt upright at my other desk and started screaming blue murder and flailing around with red hands tangled in cotton string.
I made it through my hardest day of the week (Thursdays require me to bounce between classes/work from 9AM-7PM solid) while having a cold, which kept me at home Tuesday and Wednesday.
Physically I may not be feeling any better, but I feel a lot better mentally since I don't spend all day beating myself up over what a lazy slug I'm being.
I have 150 Lusternian credits that I'll trade over for Achaean ones. Let me know if you're interested!
With help I threw a surprise party for my sister's 30th birthday and brought her a Gibson Les Paul Studio which is something she's dreamed of owning since she was 14. I'm thrilled to say that despite her nosy nature and some cruel pranks on my and my co-conspirators part such as giving her a fake gift certificate for the amount of the guitar because she snooped out her present we were able to make her squeal and cry when we brought out the actual guitar.
Today she delivered this as my thank-you present. One of the guys she works with has a wife that is really into knitting.
Don't need me to look after any students except two classes, you say?
Want me to watch some kids mill around and enjoy sweets (both for them and me) during a Valentine's dance, you say? And oh, a three day weekend ahead too?
... don't mind if I do.

Rave: it's the boyfriends birthday today and am taking him to Lindsey Stirling tonight in Melbourne. Double rave, I've got a boyfriend who likes Lindsey Stirling triple rave: I get to see Lindsey Stirling tonight with my boyfriend.
Janeway: Tuvok! *clapclap* Release my hounds!
Krenim: Hounds? How cliche.

Cyclone Lam bringing on soooo much rain. The last couple of days have consisted of late afternoon thunderstorms where everything just turns golden and glows, almost like walking around with an Instagram filter but so much more awesome. It really makes me wish I had a decent camera to capture such imagery because I'll never get that sort of vibrancy on my phone.

It just has to shift a little more south when it hits and exciting fun times! For some reason I don't really want to kiteboard in nice sunny perfect weather but as soon as a cyclone forms near me it's like "DAMN I GOTTA GET OUT THERE."

So... there's a kung fu Marathon on today. 'Five element ninja' 'Heroes of the east' 'Five deadly venoms' 'Shaolin mantis' and 'Five fingered death touch' ... There may or may not be a broken lamp somewhere over the course the day as a result of recreating what I see on the screen. X.
My last two units for my course just got marked and I got a CA (Competency Achieved) for both!
It's still going to be incredibly insane for the next couple months to fit in another seven units worth of work before June, but it's really encouraging that I'm doing so well.

I finally... have a cell phone. Let me revel in this a bit.

Good luck with dodging it!
I have been loving Darkest Dungeon.
Should totally pick it up and give it a try!
