Whee! Finally my bookshop has this on its shelves...

  • Got to attend Social Media Week in NYC for today and tomorrow, and was able to see a few lectures and exhibits from several professionals including the president/co-founder of Stripe! Going to post pics later but so far
    its quite the experience.

  • So I am still unemployed, but found out that my unemployment claim is approved. So I am fairly pleased by this, and even more pleased that I can really focus on school this semester.

Who am I kidding..and Achaea as well >.>

  • I rarely post, but this was too good not to share. This press release went public for the clinical trial that I've been working on. Super pleased by the results and great news for patients with relapsed multiple myeloma. :)

Reading the title without all the capitalization, trademark symbols, etc (from just the URL, before clicking on it), I was expecting one of those papers where people just string together a bunch of jargon randomly and see if they can get it past peer review. Awesome news though, congrats!

Thanks! Oh no, this took teams of people (and an amazing clinical ops/science team), a lot of effort by our biostatisticians, etc. and an independent data monitoring committee not affiliated with Onyx to look over the data and determine whether or not we met our endpoint.

tl;dr - We met our primary endpoint of improving progression free survival in patients with relapsed multiple myeloma compared to the standard of care by twice as long. :)

Ugh after many years of being disappointed by live action dragonball z i found this and was well impressed by the action sequences. I feel the need to spread, as the guys who created this video need donations to keep it going. I hope they can if the rest of the series will be as good as this.
I like that, actually, and this is coming from someone who was never really into DB and DBZ to begin with.

Sci-fi week on Film4 this week.

Tonight: Serenity at 9, Predators at 11.20 (might be tad tired for work tomorrow)
Tomorrow; Transformers Revenge of the Fallen at 9, Babylon AD at 11.55
Wednesday & Thursday not so good...
    Friday: Skyline then District 9.

    Wheeeee

  • The Unreal 4 engine is now subscription free (though royalties still apply, obviously). Going to make it a little easier to keep up my side projects. :)
  • I'm free! I'm free!

  • Got turned down by PayPal for their 6 month no-interest purchase option. I wanted to buy a bunch of credits in honor of @Sarapis's victory, but realistically I shouldn't spend the money even though I can technically afford it. Rave for assisted willpower!

Genuinely surprised how unterrible this is.

I totally had that as a kid, and cheesy as it is, it was a really neat concept and was probably one of the initial reasons I really liked photography.

One of the best games evar!
  • Heh, the boyfriend had brought out his N64 a couple of weeks ago and I had told him about my love of this game. He borrowed a fancy case from his Mum to put it in and wrapped it up.

When I unwrapped it I thought it was going to be a necklace or bracelet which had my head thinking "wtf, I don't wear jewellery.. Just pretend to be stoked...". needless to say I was pleasantly surprised.

Today, neighborhood kids burrowed a path to my door and dug with their hands until the door could push open enough to slip some shovels out the crack, then shoveled until they could fit through for some hot chocolate and marshmallow fluff.
At first, forgetting you were experiencing snowmageddon, it just sounded like you had some industrious burglers..

That was my initial confusion too. Now it makes so much more sense.

I finished up one of the units for my course, I'm half way through another, and I've enrolled in the last six that I need to complete before June. My lecturer talked me into getting recognition of prior learning for three of those units, because my previous job would definitely cover customer service, working in diversity, and everything about Publisher. That leaves only three to do but all of them are textbook completion, which takes forever to get through.

I am so close to being finished though, and it's so going to be worth it. I'm already wanting to spruce up my resume and start applying for those jobs that I'll be qualified for. I can't wait!!
