From rec-league soccer, the most satisfying schadenfreude: when opposing players are called out by the ref for diving, then get booted for whining about it. womp womp
Eating potato chips and chocolate while watching House at 1:34am because I've got the weekend off for the first time this year. Fuck it, yes I will have another piece! Omnomnomnomnomnomnom.
Another week and another kg lost. 49kg in total, or 108lbs. Another 5kg, or 11lbs, to go and I've reached my goal. All going well, I should be there at around the 2 year mark since starting the weight loss. So feeling pretty chuffed at the moment despite this being the first week of being unemployed!
Janeway: Tuvok! *clapclap* Release my hounds!

Bittersweet day yesterday at the cat rescue event. Chucky the cat (for whom I've been caring regularly) got adopted! I'm so happy for him, but he's so unfailingly innocent and sweet that my guy and I were all prepared to take him home if nobody chose him... and only now do we realize how much we're going to miss him.
It was weird to see a Vikings team that was actually pretty decent on defence, and also performed well without Adrian Peterson having a tremendous day. Weird, that is, but nice.
ETA: Also, got myself Randall Munroe's 'What if?' book, and it's the best book in the history of everything. -Everything-.
Durian mooncakes for mid-autumn festival! (I missed the night to play with lanterns because working night shifts, so mooncakes will have to substitute!)
"Mummy, I'm hungry, but there's no one to eat! :C"
My rave is that I get to visit my Nana over the next couple of days. I don't get to see her often these days and I'm really excited for her to meet my daughter. And I always come home with canned yummies, like apple jam or blueberry wine jelly.
...the accompanying rant is that I have to spend a total of ten hours over the next two days driving out to see her in the middle of nowhere Saskatchewan with a toddler who dislikes long car rides. Whee.
"Gilgamesh, where are you hurrying to? You will never find that [everlasting] life for which you are looking. When the gods created man they allotted to him death, but life they retained in their own keeping. As for you, Gilgamesh, fill your belly with good things; day and night, night and day, dance and be merry, feast and rejoice. Let your clothes be fresh, bathe yourself in water, cherish the little child that holds your hand, and make your wife happy in your embrace; for this too is the lot of man."
And I love too Be still, my indelible friend That love soon might end You are unbreaking And be known in its aching Though quaking Shown in this shaking Though crazy Lately of my wasteland, baby That's just wasteland, baby
Yeah, the whiskey is for the parents, it'd be wasted on the kids. Give them something they might appreciate, like Bailey's or something. I mean, um...like milk...
Eh. It'll be Frozen on the iPad to the rescue, probably. And I'm holding off on letting her nap to force her to nap while she's in the car.
A shot of Bailey's in mommy's cup of Timmies sounds wonderful though...

Destiny PS4 sitting on my couch waiting for me to get off work. -gamer squeal-
I'm getting that tomorrow if you need somebody to help you kill aliens @Amanu!
Aurora says, "Tharvis, why are you always breaking things?!" Artemis says, "You are so high maintenance, Tharvis, gosh." Tecton says, "It's still your fault, Tharvis."
Passed my huge giant test thing that I've been freaking the fuck out about for months. Stress evaporates suddenly and I realize I REALLY need someone to take all the knots out of my back. Also apparently getting to go to Cancun later this year for my aunt's 90th birthday ^_^

I'm confused. Does "passed" mean it's yours, or not?

If by "it" you mean national certification and ability to work on a rig anywhere in the US then yes, it is mine.

That is not at all what I meant. Not awake enough to come up with an appropriate continuation of the stupid joke. Congrats!
The software release I've been working on for the last 7 months is ALMOST DONE~ And we're deleting the documentation index so I don't have to put 999999 index markers on everything! callooh, callay
Many years ago I remember reading an awesome fantasy book which sowed all the seeds that grew into me liking RPG / Achaea and everything else along those lines. For years I couldn't remember what that damn book was called, who wrote it or published it and life got in the way.
Then, last week.. I stumbled across it on ebay and it arrived this morning. That's my weekend sorted

I can, in roughly an hour's time, dig a hole in the forest floor large enough to hide a body in.*
(*a normal sized body, not, like, a @Khairt sized body.)
@Taraus dear, would you like some delicious baked goods?

Rant: I burnt my fingers at work today when I accidentally shorted a 6V SLA battery.
@Ulrike is it Frabjous day over there, perchance?
