  • I teach a lot of that as part of my job, and love introducing people to themselves at training classes with information gained off the web. Also, when I'm pen testing and part of it is to sweet talk my way into buildings..? -Challenge Accepted- :)

  • @Aepas Does that mean you're going to start a thread or PM chains with everything you dig up about us? I'd actually be kind of interested in what you turn up with about me.

Haha no. It just means that several people with certain forum attitudes can be generalized and put in specific target groups. (The emotional ones, need validation ones, whistle blowers, etc etc.) I just found it how humorous many people on this forum relate to the training we are recieving.

I never thought I'd really believe it, but people are just very very predictable.

  • It's a good song though...
"Faded away like the stars in the morning,
Losing their light in the glorious sun,
Thus would we pass from this earth and its toiling,
Only remembered for what we have done."

Today is 90 days clean for me this go around.  Gonna pick up that red keytag.

I've been doing this thing pretty well since 2009 yet I can never seem to get more than a year or year and a half.

This time around though I'm feeling real good about it.

There is NOTHING attractive about an old guy doing dope.
I guess the obvious answer is that since you can't seem to get past a year, you aren't really internalizing the reason you'd like to be sober.  Personally, my sobriety didn't start until I had a huge reason to be. You just have to find that reason, even if people think it's stupid, and run with it. Until then, you're going to be stuck in this limbo where every time you hit major cravings (which happen less frequently as time goes on, but there's usually a spike in the year and half mark which gets a lot of people) and use again.  If you want to talk to someone man, I'll lend you an ear. I've been down that road a lot.

My issue has generally been with getting some clean time and then starting dating and letting that take over and I quit going to meetings. Then when the relationship crumbles I end up being alright for a bit and then generally end up going back to my DOC or something close to it.

I know for myself getting involved really helps and service does as well. I'll start chairing now that I have my 90 days and probably pick up a Trusted a Servant position and start going to area once I hit the requirements.

    Appreciate the positive words man.

I passed my thesis defense and now (unofficially) have a Master's (officially it will be another month and some change)!

Now I can take my MA in Art History and work at McDonald's part time (and cry myself to sleep holding it)!!!!

Also, hello (again) forums! I've missed everyone in the game but for various different reasons have not made it back! How is everyone and everything doing?!
and that means my mentor is coming back right?
