I'm actually for removing tokens altogether, as unpopular an opinion as it might be. But that's besides the point. 

In regards to what happened to me today, I noticed I didn't have that nifty Elist svo function, and realized it was because it's an addon, so ordered that and pretty much every other svo addon that I didn't have and wouldn't mind having. Time to give it a spin.

I dozed off at the keyboard while waiting for someone to wake up, which isn't a good idea at all! Probably about fifteen minutes later, I noticed I had a blackwinded guest. Despite my bad luck with recent events, they just wanted to chat and it turned out to be an interesting conversation. Thanks again for not murdering me while I was afk.

Bad business is attacking a ship before even requesting the currency or resources you wish to pirate though too. From personal experience, I've been on vessels where we're peremptorily attacked and pretty much need to abandon. No extortion ever took place.

One time after such an event, I think I received a letter reminding me about the need to pay the PoM its piracy dues (for lack of a better term) or risk getting sunk. But I had already escaped with my strongbox contents and the crew was saved through tokens, so the only thing I was out in the end (from not paying them) was a little bit of time returning to shore and the money to salvage and restock the ship (which is cheaper than paying pirates). I think I wrote something back to the pirate that effect.

In short, it's not so bad if you're attacked as long as you take precautions and don't lose your mind while its happening. But if pirates want to RP extorting people on the high seas, they might try forceboarding ships and making such requests before attacking because by the time the ship is aflame, etc. there's really no reason for a captain who is inexperienced in ship combat (or its recovery) to do anything beyond abandon the vessel or go down with it while making this face:  

Edit: It would be amazing to see a counter organization to the PoM gain footing. Give adventurers who sail the chance to join and be trained by these opposing factions of the high seas.  

I'm working on it, damn it.

o.o I hate ships, and anytime i've ever been on a ship i've been chased down by pirates only for Draqoom to out run then and make fun of them for not being as good of a sailor than he is.

Dunno what the big deal about ships is honestly. It's like Achaea if leaving your city had Santar showup and gank you instantly everytime.

It's a buff that you can get from devotion users that allows you to be delivered/ressed

I thought Eleusisians might have it since we've basically always been buddy buddy and it lets us res them. Just so happened Rangor had it which allowed me to deliver him (summon) him to me. But it was in Targossas so I was instantly enemied for summoning an enemy into Targ. (To be fair I thought I was standing on defendable when I did it)

Finally decide to track/travel? Great. Don't move. Ever. Darts will screw your world up.

Want to drop retardation? Better have a deliver waiting because it's literally impossible to eat magnesium/se before the next dart hits.

Want to drop retardation where there aren't any darts (lol, yeah, right, darts are everywhere)? Doesn't matter, there's a bug where axethrow goes through ret.

You just shield and assume that'll stop the darts? Wrong, break shield, darts resume.

Darts finally ran out? Sentinel moved to a different room, and is axing you faster than Jesters can. Put embrace death on a timer and go get a drink.

Finally get a single attack in? Axe hit oculus, and your herb balance is constantly eaten by darts, you're about to get transfixed. Also your diamondskin has been stripped because for some reason Sentinels need this.

Want to try climbing trees, going north, then landing to avoid triggering darts? Too bad, doesn't work.

Want to try it with flying? Doesn't matter, darts don't give a damn.

You dead already? Souls can get hit by darts too. Hope you can embrace death while paralyzed.

Spend 10 minutes clearing 6 rooms of darts? They can be replaced with 2s balance each to ensure true Suffering. 

And god don't even get me started on the wunjo/nairat crap on top of that. I still have nightmares from @Nemutaur.




Sentinel is the most broken class in the game. Even worse than Occultist or Blademaster. That's when you know something's really jacked up. Unstoppable 1v1, absurdly powerful group hindering, damage, afflicting, escaping. and area control. Zero flaws. Stronger than Priest 1v1, stronger than Occultist group, nearly as strong at escape as serpents, great infiltration with evasion because for some reason roofs near entrances are too technologically advanced for cities, adjacent hindering and afflicting that's as fast as swiftcurse Shaman but with the safety of being behind traps, as much DPS as lupines... and you get a wolf. God I'm jealous.

Rom

Sentinels are group combat monsters for sure, but 1/2 the classes in the game have no excuse dying to them 1v1. Get enough maxhealth and that becomes almost every class. The Sentinel probably shouldn't die versus most classes either though .

Edit: Oh you're Magi - that is a tough one, lemming stripping diamondskin has gotten me a few kills.
