Happily harvested earlier today, filling my rift with lovelies. Sold a huge chunk of my herbs, bought credits, and then happily harvested against. I am realizing far too late that Bluef should have gone a forestal class earlier in life. Herbs are life. Herbs are love.
Got on looking for @Rangor to spar so I could make full house member only to be invited to a party I knew was for icon defense. Realized I didn't have time. Got off for a bit and did my chores. Came back for a ridiculously fun time defending the icons. We pwned Ashtan. Then almost destroyed Ashura's icon. While defending icons I got promoted by Rangor on the battle field to house rank 5. Proved myself! Woot! Had way too much fun this month thanks to Eleusis and Ashtan. Thank you to both. Went to bed and woke up to this:
Kross has formally declared you an enemy of the Ashura.
I put up bounties when raids happen and then leave them for someone to pick up at some point. I'm just happy someone is trying to pick up bounties.
There isn't any timer on how long bounties last.
(Consider this payback for killing me in Hashan, you monster! :P) (Bounty reason is not related to that though)
There isn't any timer, but... The board probably should be closely monitored by the Minister of Security and bounties removed when they get old as cheese if no one picks them up. It's rather bad form to have a bounty up for an event that took place RL months ago. I thought these were for intended for crimes committed recently. 3 RL months is at least 7 IC years. That's not recent; it's a nearly decade-old crime. If they could be used for any old thing committed in the past, Bluef would have bounties galore on her.
If someone claims it and fails, I don't repost it.
If they succeed, then they succeed. If someone really has a problem with an old bounty being taken for them, they can contact me and I'd consider taking it down.
I don't have a problem with the bounty just thought it was lulz how old it was. Thats really up to the admins to decide if bounties should have an expiration date. They probably should, it will be funny the day someone raids a city, goes dormant for like a RL year, comes back and someone picks up the bounty on them.

Or you could just be proactive and check the length of time unclaimed bounties have been up now and again or IDEA a change that involves expiration dates.

I don't think the Statute of Limitations applies to Achaea...

I believe it would, sort of anyway. The first thing I checked when bounties came out was how recent the activity against the city had to be for a bounty to be placed up.
Bashed for shards, bashed for gold. I now have enough to get a Windcutter (with a "cushion" so I'm not immediately broke, assuming I don't actually try and crew it just yet). Unless I decide on a Seastrider instead, and I'm still not sure if the extra 2.5 million is really worth spending. Or maybe it is.
Also tried to help with talking to a novice. Except I kept getting disconnected and missed half of the conversation as a result. Feh.

Defiled a shrine, raised a shrine, died too many times due to recklessness / lag / not paying enough attention, updated some help files, updated some project files... and the day's not done yet!

Seems like if they wanted unclaimed bounties to expire they would set them to expire.. Like they do with claimed ones.

But that's just me.
Maybe. Easy way to test that hypothesis. We can ask @Tecton about whether it was intended that bounties would sit on boards for RL months, making it so someone could be dormant and come in to have someone claim a bounty and attempt to kill them for something they did over in some instances a quarter of a RL year or more ago. If not, they could just set them to expire if not claimed. If so, at least we'll know for sure.
As far as I'm concerned, if you're a city enemy that is more than enough reason to put a bounty on your head. City's should be able to put a bounty on any enemy's head.
As far as I'm aware, there are no written rules as to what constitutes whether or not a city can put a bounty on you.
I can't log in right now to check, so I could be wrong on that point.
I don't however follow that line of thought in-game because that isn't Juk.
Since I'm new to this place, and I couldn't find any "HI" thread, I'm gonna start from here:
Got kidnapped by some pygmies working for some cultists.
Got revenge on them and joined the Insidium.
Learned that you can see hidden people by eating dolomite grains.
Goar, a carnivorous sloth, was following me around and supposedly wanted to eat my foot so I tried feeding it rabbits and goats but it didn't like them...

Unfortunately, that's not how it's intended to work:
30411 Tecton 8/08/2:25 There needs to be a valid reason, there will never be a chance where you get a bounty placed on your head just for being an enemy. The system is more a formalised system for seeking retribution for people who, say, raid, or break into a city shop.
Not all the guidelines for Achaea's fair gameplay are written out. Some just require common sense. Glad you're among those who possess it!
*Finished a wedding ring as one of my first jewelry commissions.
*Went broke again because I dumped the money I got from the commission into some new journals. Hello, I'm Tristyn and I am a journal ling addict.
*Met @Tibitha for the first time. Gave her a piece of chocolate as a gift which ended up turning her into a toad. Shunsui then proceeds to work his charm on her to get her to change back. Adorable!
*Spent some more time locked in the Harbinger library to finish up HR4. Got surprised by the Niusha, our denizen cleric, who proceeded to comment on my horse being in the library (I get lonely while writing! What can I say?). She's a sweetheart though and let me keep it there. Thanks to whoever was playing her, definitely made my day.

I think the last time I raided Hashan was like 3 rl months ago lol

Why thank you! I must be doing something right !

"There are 3 giant quartz beetles here." I've never seen three giant quartz beetles grouped before. My first thought was, where is the fourth?

On the other hand I also cleaved them then complained when I realized they -still- had the bounty.
