So what happened today...I had some coffee, helped some colleagues while on call..went to sit down and start my computer..noticed rent was due. Opened my drawer and found a dead recluse spider. So then that lead to taking all the drawers out and looking in them. Yep desk of nightmares.. bunch of brown recluse carcasses all in the drawers in webbing. This is not my idea of Halloween in July.
So I think the worse is there right?
Wrong
Flipped the desk over since I thought I should be thorough....I think I may be getting a noise reduction letter. Loud string of swear words, bunch of LIVE recluses WITH egg sacks. So in the middle of having a panic attack, I douse the...things in bleach.
If you have issues with spiders it's advisable to stop reading and looking at this post here. Especially since I have no idea how to use spoilers.
So....that is why I did not login to Achaea today.
And I love too Be still, my indelible friend That love soon might end You are unbreaking And be known in its aching Though quaking Shown in this shaking Though crazy Lately of my wasteland, baby That's just wasteland, baby
Someone must really hate you to have infested your desk with venomous spiders! I’m thinking it must be a trick of the Nihilists. Ingenious way to defeat the opposition, if you think about it!
Give us -real- shop logs! Not another misinterpretation of features we ask for, turned into something that either doesn't help at all, or doesn't remotely resemble what we wanted to begin with.
Thanks!
Current position of some of the playerbase, instead of expressing a desire to fix problems:
Vhaynna: "Honest question - if you don't like Achaea or the current admin, why do you even bother playing?"
if we're gonna censure spiders, can we censure puppies/kittens/snakes/llamas/etc too? I have a crippling phobia for those things, and it offends me to see people post those pictures.
On a more serious note, spiders are no worse than any other animal, and just because people have a phobia doesn't mean we should be censuring them from the forums. This current policy is pretty absurd...
Spiders I can handle all day. It's those popping zits/cyst removal photos and videos I can't do...
I am weirdly addicted to those videos...

Through suffering they will be made stronger. Follow your faith. Bring the spiders.
I just get irritated because people always get all dramatic about spiders.
Somebody's afraid of dogs, they tend to suck it up and ignore the dog pictures. Somebody afraid of cats or heights or whatever else, same. Afraid of spiders? OMG A SPIDER I SAW A SPIDER DON'T SHOW ME SPIIIIIIIDERS I'M LITERALLY GONNA DIIIIIIIIIE.
It is a good thing that fear of spiders is not agoraphobia, then!
Arachnophobia research varies, but the low numbers are 30% and the high numbers are 75%.
People also don't react the same to pictures. Most people who fear dogs and cats are scared because of knowing they bite. This is different than why most people fear spiders.
I would like to continue my long history of annoying Cooper by pointing out that the first large-scale study on Google (Gender and age differences in the prevalence of specific fears and phobias) indicates a prevalence of [2.2% - 4.9%] at a confidence level of 95%, and the NIMH states that the total prevalence of specific phobias within the past year was 9.1% (that is, across all acknowledged specific phobias in the U.S). The lower bound being 30% does not sound right in light of this, unless statisticians are conspiring to help their arachnoid brethren. These numbers must be talking about a weaker, general 'spiders are spooky' feeling.
I tried to resist, but the siren song of the tl;dr was too strong. Forgive me, father.

I would be grateful if someone would not mind messaging me or answering here how in the world you create spoilers.
I had a pet tarantula when I was a kid. She still had her fangs and everything

It's less about censorship and more about being good to each other. No need to inflate it into a big issue.

Stands to reason that if agoraphobia is common enough, the others are moreso. that said, I despise spiders so, I approve Your message.
