Got level 95! Realized Ottis and Atalkez will probably beat me to Dragon. Drowned my sorrows in whiskey. (JFC, @Atalkez, you were level 91 a minute ago and now you're RIGHT BEHIND ME. Do you ever sleep? ) Hung out with friends. Went shopping. Did not get any work done, but I smoked a lot of tabac.

With ominous portent, Avianca's draconic form approaches from the south.
Avianca smirks.
<more bashing Delos guards>
Captain Avianca Shu'in-Crescent's breath crackles and sparks as she says, "Now you I've never heard of."
Avianca moves over to block the south exit.
Your breath mists with frost as you say, "Oh?"
<Delos guards are dead>
Avianca shrugs helplessly.
Avianca vanishes to the south, the surroundings seeming to shift in her wake.
Well, that's my odd encounter for the day.

Walked into Cyrene today. Randomly decided to full sense after walking around to see who was around. Out of the list of those I could see, 5 were Cyrenians, 1 was Eleusian and 10 were Mhaldorians.
Cyrene is apparently on the way to becoming Mhaldor's getaway destination. O.o
"Mummy, I'm hungry, but there's no one to eat! :C"
I'm not even Cyrenian and I'm still not used to seeing all of those ex-Cyrene enemies there. Keeps making me think they're getting raided or something.
I have had very little Achaea time lately but today I logged in, tested a demonstration, got some fair stuff sent to me and started trying to figure out more of the logistics. With outfits now a thing, I hope more people will get more things!

There was a small mini-event with a scorpion who wanted to let us know that he didn't appreciate being used for ink. The scorpion was very sarcastic and pretty amusing to talk to.
We then went to Rurin to try and find another way of making ink. It was quite interesting to hear stories of Lord Phaestus and pretty women serving him ale. It was a lot of fun and made a really crappy day a lot better.
You greet Han-Tolneth with a sincere smile. Han-Tolneth says, "Hello, Praxides." Han-Tolneth shakes his head and returns a figurine of dragon-borne Han-Tolneth back to you.
Raided a lot, dueled a lot, apparently got hired on for raiding which led to fighting eq gem Jhui but he cheated with prekai and getting peace removed before the fight (CHEATER), contemplated petty revenge killing, decided I didn't care that much, decided to resume my plot to get cheap credits, failed miserably, decided to wait for the Brain@Austere.
Got level 95. Almost lost 95 in Hashan. Got further into 95. Kinda skirmished with Ashtan. Had little idea of what was going on.
@Aodfionn decided it was sink or swim time and threw me into a conversation with @Taraus, and that was fun, but started at 2:30 am and ended almost two hours later, and I'm lucky if any of my thoughts were coherent past the first half hour. However, despite that, decided being a Harbinger is the best because enemy factions have fun people and I'm free to hang out with them in the name of science educating myself.
Had genuine fun sitting at the Crystal Leaf Amphitheatre today after finding out we were going to hold a discussion there. I thought shouts I logged into were lame, but I'm glad most people obliged and came over to check it out either way. Had a surprising amount of Eleusians, a few Cyrenians, a few Ashtani and a Targossian.
"Mummy, I'm hungry, but there's no one to eat! :C"
I don't post here often, all things considered. When shit goes south, I
don't come here to rant, and when things go well, I don't come here to boast. But today, my character
turned 300. That means I've played Aerek for 9.27 years. To me, it was
just another day, but I found out that to a few folks, it meant a lot
more than that.
The
body of this warm and durable sweater has been lovingly knitted from
rich, cerulean blue wool. Adding color to the piece, the collar and
cuffs have been crafted instead from wool dyed a rich silver. Hundreds
of tiny, crossed silver runeblades are knitted into the weave, forming a
repeating pattern over every inch of available surface. Sewn into the
front and centre is a large, silver "AA" in surprisingly elegant script,
given the medium. Due to its thickness, this piece is a fantastic
choice to wear under armor, providing plenty of padding for even the
weightiest of platemail. The heavy sweater is enough to provide
delightfully fuzzy warmth in even the coldest of climates, and has clearly been crafted with love and affection. It has 86 months of usefulness left. It weighs about 1 pounds and 0 ounce(s). It won't protect you much from the cold.
This
simple bath robe is sewn from snowy white flannel. Although not as
absorbent or fluffy as terry cloth, these robes guarantee modesty and
warmth for the wearer. The oversized lapels hug the neck snugly and may
be folded down or turned up for additional coverage. By wearing the
robes left over right, a small ribbon attached to the right lapel may be
tied around a loop inside the robe to prevent the neckline from gaping
while a length of flannel sash wraps around the waist to keep the robe tied securely shut. It has 98 months of usefulness left. It weighs about 3 pounds and 0 ounce(s). It is on the light side, offering some protection from the cold. It bears the distinctive mark of Skye.
Which was all in good fun, until it got a little more serious:
Well made and durable, this scroll is a simple yet elegant blend of form and function. It is comprised
of two parts - a heavy sheet of vellum and a sturdy piece of finely
tooled dark leather cut slightly larger than the writing surface it
backs. The thick vellum is rich and creamy, providing a perfectly smooth
surface that begs to be written upon. Small, flat silver pins that have
been carved with tiny and beautifully detailed runes secure each corner
of the scroll to the leather backing to prevent it from slipping out of place. Well oiled and supple, the leather rolls up easily,
forming a shield around the body of the scroll itself to protect it from
the elements or rough treatment. The leather can be secured shut with a
gleaming silver clasp, fashioned into the shape of two crossed runeblades. It has no title and the owner is listed as being Sir Aerek Ancyrion, Shieldlord. It weighs 3 ounce(s).
[Custom,
resetting, and surreptitiously obtained from me, RL months ago so it would have
my mark on it, because I'm always losing scrolls when I drop them for groups to read, or hand them to students and don't get them back.]
And then I was floored:
Tahquil has traded...

-- Grounded in but one perspective, what we perceive is an exaggeration of the truth.
Melodie carefully pulls a tarnished golden necklace with an oily black orb pendant over her curls to rest in her palm a moment before laying in on a celestite altar. [Melodie has removed a tarnished golden necklace with an oily black orb pendant.]
Shivering in muted display, the orb of the pendant shifts and turns to its original white-moted radiance, and a faint hum begins to fill the cavern.
Melodie takes a blood-stained ribbon of white silk from a frosted azure pouch.
Melodie offers you a knowing look before laying a blood-stained ribbon of white silk alongside the necklace on the altar.
Minister Melodie Ancyrion asks you with a flowing, cultured accent, "May I ask you to trust me and put your talisman upon the celestite altar, Aerek?"
You have emoted: Aerek lays an Aldar talisman alongside the golden necklace and bloodstained ribbon upon a celestite altar.
Minister
Melodie Ancyrion says to you with a flowing, cultured accent, "That
means more to me than I could ever express, Aerek. And I hope, on these
several days of celebration of your life, we can celebrate our lives together, and what the future may bring. Our future is often defined by our past, but I believe more often, its defined by what we remember."
Minister
Melodie Ancyrion says softly with a flowing, cultured accent, "And
after all, our memories hold wonders, greater than they stars we're
under."
The air within the grotto begins to shimmer, two ethereal
beings silhouetted within a scintillating aura of kaleidoscopic hues.
Whispered at first, then rising to a choral peak, a complex duet of
emotional song emanates from the pair. The figures of light and song are
drawn together, their harmony growing louder as they move closer, finally reaching a crescendo as the beings overlap.
Twisting,
twining together, the twosome coruscates until a singular aureate glow
is visible within the centre of the radiant aura. As the melody
intensifies, the golden column grows in brightness, the grotto and offerings alike enveloped entirely by the blinding light.
With
a sudden, violent rush, the light surges downward, leaving an
afterimage of white still dancing across your vision, and a resounding
silence in the grotto. Gleaming brightly, the light winks off a golden talisman, beckoning attention with its thrumming blue glow.
Melodie gazes at the altar quietly, then gestures for you to obtain what lies on it.
You
have emoted: Aerek cautiously retrieves a talisman girded by angels
from a celestite altar, looking questioningly between it and Melodie. The blue hum surrounding the talisman recedes at Aerek's touch, muting to a soft glow within his grasp.
You ask, "I...what?"
Meticulous
rendering has wrought glimmering gold into this sovereign-sized disc,
the talisman's hefty weight at odds with its modest size. Upon the face,
an angel aura quartz nests in the centre of a bed of intricate
filigree, the rough cut of the stone allowing the natural luminescence
to shine. The pear-shaped crystal boasts a kaleidoscopic array of
brilliant pastel hues, delicate and ethereal against the aureate
backdrop. Two celestial beings flank the gem, their arched silhouettes
picked out in gilded glory that contrast their silvery pinions; the
angels portray saviours delivered on wings of lustrous mithril. Feminine
calligraphy unfurls around the perimeter, the scrollwork swooping to
spell out a poignant phrase in auric whorls. A tattered ribbon of faded
white has been woven through a narrow catch, allowing the charm to hang
freely, the once-pristine silk now marred with the rusted stains of
bloodshed. A clever miniature clasp holds the brooch closed tight, and the thrumming blue-tinged glow betrays the hallmark of its mystical properties. It weighs about 1 pounds and 9 ounce(s). It bears the distinctive mark of Aerek. It will reset to you.
You read what is written on a talisman girded by angels: Our memories hold wonders, Greater than the stars we're under.
Three times:
Commissioned without my knowledge, a family portrait of myself, Melodie, and @Saeva, from the talented @Yae.
And it was revealed to me that the equally talented @Xae was also braving my intentionally-vague description as a gift.
This
doesn't even cover all the other people, events, kind words, and
generous gestures that came my way; it barely covers half of them.
Everything, the unbelievable time, effort, and even money spent to make
this happen, and all the little touches like the guests, the band, the
secrecy and surprise, tied the whole night together into one seamless,
mind-blowing experience. I think everyone, when they've played Achaea as
long as I have, hopes that somewhere along the line they touched the
lives of a few other characters or players, that they somehow made the
game legitimately better for someone else during the time they've been
playing it. But never in the ten years I've played have I been
confronted so completely, and by so many people, just to say that they
were glad I'd been around, and that they hope I stick around.
I
don't have the words to express how blown away I was today, so I'm not
going to try. To everyone who helped make this happen, mortal, immortal,
character, player, thank you. I will never forget today.
-- Grounded in but one perspective, what we perceive is an exaggeration of the truth.
So, I totes got my first dive favour today, and it makes me super happy. I mean, I am level 107 and I have killed and offered a LOT of things to multiple Divine...so it just feels really good.
He is a Golden Dragon, immense and powerful. Mighty wings jut from a huge, scaled back, and a large sinuous tail trails off his hindquarters. Four powerful limbs terminating in deadly-looking claws support its massive, scaled body, but the most impressive feature of this most impressive being is the proud, regal head. A long, flattened snout sports row upon row of razor-sharp teeth, and the glint in his saucer-sized eyes speaks of an ancient and formidable intellect. He walks with the truefavour of Pandora.
