From some magical warp of reality, a crate marked "live animal inside" appears before Taraus, a soft yip and scratch issuing from within the depths.
You take a desert terrier pup from a crate marked "live animal inside".
Bright eyes, stocky frame, and perpetually wagging tail come together in this exuberantly wriggling terrier puppy, bred from the finest Mhojave stock. His velveteen pelt boasts varying splotches of fawn and tawny hues, the unique shading affording him camouflage amidst the rippling dunes of the southern desert. His keen black gaze shines out from patches that mimic a furry bandit's mask, resting above a stout snout tipped with a constantly-sniffing wet nose: the hallmark signs of a healthy, inquisitive pup. Just long enough to keep his rotund belly clear of the ground, his clumsy, chubby legs end in overlarge paws, hinting at growth somewhere far in his future. A buttersoft leather collar of a rich blue bears hematite nametags, the plates jingling with every scampish motion of the youthful canine.
You beckon to a desert terrier pup.
A desert terrier pup barks loudly and begins to follow you.
You pet a desert terrier pup ingratiatingly.
A desert terrier pup looks up at you endearingly and releases a playful bark.
A desert terrier pup jumps about, yipping and wagging his tail in an excited manner.
A desert terrier pup notices his tail out of the corner of his eye and starts a fruitless effort to catch it in his mouth.
He does more than that, but cuteness should be taken in carefully measured doses.
Yeah, looks like it's a she, but whoever set the falcon desc didn't use the falcon_his or whatever they use up there right. Just BUG it (HELP BUGS), should get corrected pretty quick!
Welcome to Achaea by the way, hope you enjoy your stay.
I don't know about quickly. Azelhu's falcon has been bugged since she got it, I think. Again, gender-confused.
My pony from the bazaar is also gender confused with some of his emote responses, but I haven't bugged that because I like it that way.
Tested my new salve logic for ak(which still has some obvious flaws). It will no longer process at the beginning of an apply and instead logically decide whether it was a restoration apply or a mending (caloric included) apply. It still has some obvious errors, but it all boils down to a process order at this point. It should now accurately track pre-apply. I am very pleased.
Bought my 20th shard. Major raves go out to @Jadys for helping me finish it. Austere has to be one of the luckiest guys alive.
Got told I had a tournament to host that was not optional, as I had been led to believe. Major raves to @Tesha for picking up the slack on this one. My current times and the fact that I spend almost every single night raiding(or defending) for the duration I am here, makes it incredibly difficult to sit and plan large scale events. You da real mvp.
Finalized my mini games for the upcoming festival. Looks like I get Glacian. Try not to raid that night @Ashtan and @Mhaldor. I will be very sad if my first attempt at organizing something in Targossas gets ruined. I feel like I have a good enough relationship with most of the leaders in those cities that if I ask them to shove off they would, but who knows. Time will tell!
I didn't get to raid any due to Festival planning. . I almost feel like there should be a specific person in each city to organize all these events. Could even let them appoint people as official helpers.
The fair is the craziest thing I have ever tried to coordinate. So many people, so many items, so many components, and the to-do list just keeps growing LONGER somehow with every item I complete. I'm going crazy!

Bought an awesome set of windchimes I've been keeping an eye out for for a while, which slowly adds more expense to my decorate-the-manor-with-shinies project.
The nautical one?

That last level goes by pretty quick, just because of all the criticals.

Had a slow day at work so re-wrote my limb damage tracker. Mostly just tidying things up and improving the way they work, but (finally) added support for limb damage decay too, as well as laying the foundation for some other planned changes. Also finally got around to changing my command separator, so now I can use / in says, tells, clan tells, etc. and not lose the rest of it.
Sounds like a fun raid for al! Which is weird since you never see both sides satisfied with the "fairness".
Moral of the story? Everyone should raid Hashan more.
A bit late here, but from my limited experience on Achaea...Kasa especially and Hashan in general seem to be all about "fairness" when it comes to most combat situations. There are times though when people get a bit overexcited due to the circumstances and stuff happens. It's nice though when both sides do try to keep it competitive. I would be down for a lot more Hashani raids with the same circumstances.
So, not to derail this thread.....I switch to SnB. I am strugggggling hardcore with it. I just suck at this point.
Whelp, I got my laptop back a day or two ago only to find out everything was wiped, with horrific stuff that I can't get any of it back if I wanted to. Damn it. :frown:
On the bright side, I've rewritten a lot of things to be better, including my GUI and a few other things that I was entirely too lazy to fix. :chuffed: So, uh, hurrah for motivation. Now its just a matter of actually working on my offensive aliases so I can do things again.
I also got unenemied to Targossas because @Tesha is great. So is @Ada and @Xykon and @Kiba and a few others.
Handspan discs of driftwood alternate with those of mother of pearl, each linked with a twist of bronze wire to create this over-sized piece of jewellery. Designed to fit large beings of the figurehead persuasion, a broad, carved web amulet dangles from the decorative string, the verdigris hues lending life to its seaweed patterning.
It has 30 months of usefulness left.
It weighs about 11 pounds.
You attach a great Notic amulet to a dreadful serpent figurehead.
A wicked laugh swirls about the ship like a storm as you take your chances and invoke the blessing of rogueish Notia.
A dreadful serpent figurehead begins to glow with a deep green light.

In general Hashan tends to be good sports about combat, with a few exceptions, but we don't tend to complain as much when things go bad. I think it might have to do with low expectations when it comes to raids in the first place, and the fact that we look at it like a learning experience instead of trying to win. I just find it exciting and get caught up when I get to be around for one.
I uh. I came across @Tahquil's newly commissioned ship. Half an hour later, Ruth sailed away a shiny new pair of earrings, along with other things. Welcome to the seas and sorry not sorry for being the first Mhaldorian sailor to visit your ship. >_>

I finally got to move into Delos. Must thank mz @Bluef for her lovely work. I am so pleased!
Before an opulent yurt of canvas and silk. The stars twinkle in the clear night sky. Minuscule grains of sand here recede into soft, greenish-blue river grass, dotted with black and purple orchids. Nestled among the fronds, colourful silks are draped over a barely visible structure of curved ash. Powerful ochres, ponderous cyans and pearlescent creams compose the outer layer of heavy fabrics, protecting the structure's inhabitants. Peeking out beneath the vibrant fly, thick canvas is embroidered with geometric patterns. Shaping an entryway into this movable palace, moulded birch logs form concentric shapes that converge at the apex into a perfect sphere, curving into an arch upon which the woolen tent flap may be tied off to each side to welcome visitors and the cool, river breeze inside.
Within a tranquil canvas and silk tent (indoors). Great fractal patterns effuse across the canvas interior of this opulent yurt. Awash in their dark blue, deep red, and verdant hues, the interior is dimly lit but comfortably soothing as the dusky shades of natural light filter through the birch latticework frame and fabric overlays. River grass underfoot has been covered with dark, wooden boards. Woven tapestries of a myriad of hues are spread atop their knotty surfaces. Several silk-covered pillows spill across the rugs, encircling a low, oval table. Strong scents of incense and tabac linger in the air, offering a sweet, balmy aroma and an invitation to respite.
Finished a giraffe trade, started a kitten trade. Did a marque run with @Kelvin and @Ingo. Fished with @Kisharo and @Kelvin. Hung out with @Kei and visited Lady Tarah's temple with @Belerofon (who is best tour and discussion guide). Rescued @Nymunan from what I thought was alcohol poisoning but was actually a quest-related illness - thankfully a good arena beheading cures almost everything. Got introduced to the most fabulous swing ever by @Navarr. Interviewed @Lochrann, who rocks. Tried to think of things to say about my fashion show outfit, failed miserably. Smoked tabac, did shots, did not hunt even a little bit.
Bought an awesome set of windchimes I've been keeping an eye out for for a while, which slowly adds more expense to my decorate-the-manor-with-shinies project. Lot to save up for but will be super awesome when I can finally get it all placed without worrying about people coming in and jacking things (forever).
And while this happened yesterday... I got scammed for the first time in my 8-9 years of playing.
There was a non-decay item being sold in a cart in public. Said item was something I had never seen before, and had a bit of Cyrenian-ness to it. I sort of eyed it with Skye for a couple of real days before deciding to treat myself and purchase it. Within 20 minutes or so, it had utterly disappeared, despite my making sure nothing had happened to me and looking through all of my bags. Considering the large amount of spent gold, I was none too happy.
I already issue'd of course, but it was quite disconcerting all the same, and knowing the item is not likely to be returned (though I am sure the gold will be) makes it all the more disappointing.
Most of the items were non-decayed by me, most had my mark on them. I'm sure you noticed that. They were not returning. They were stolen from my subdivision home by Crythril when I was quite sick last year and the sigils went. He made quite a haul, including 60-80 crates that I was gathering for a two world wide lotteries, because I thought it would be fun for people.
The hairbrush was an item made by Lady Kastalia when we were sprucing ourselves up for something. It was not resetting. I hadn't decided if I was going to give it as a gift yet.
Thanks for letting me know about all the items with my mark on them. You're such a pal.
Actually, some of them (two that I probed, but I didn't probe everything) had your marks, I saw Ariettie's mark at least once, and several had no marks at all. I had no idea who the cart belonged to, and definitely had no reason to suspect they were stolen. I figured someone was just selling out stock because they really needed the gold. There were no crates in the cart, though, just various items from bazaars and deep sea diving and so on.
That's ignoring the fact you and I have no reason to be speaking IC.
I can tell the incident bothered you a lot, which is fine. It would have bothered me too. Instead of posting here trying to smear my name and make it look terrible though, why not send me a private message? You're just making yourself look bad.
In any case, the situation was resolved, the cart is gone, and it's clear this thread should move on.

I don't really think she's making herself look bad. The reason she became aware of this in the first place is because I saw the cart and quickly figured that this cart was either hers, or someone had acquired a bunch of her items somehow. I'd assumed the few other items that didn't have her mark but the marks of Ariettie and Aeryi were likely gifts of some sort as all the items had Cyrenian origins as far as owners go. So I asked her about the stuff, she said it wasn't her cart, but these were things stolen from her and I remember the incident when it happened.
As for the cart, it's actually still there but she bought back the items that were still left that were hers within the last hour or so.
Edit: I should add that she's being a complete and total sweetheart and also buying back the other items that were stolen that don't belong to her and giving them back to their owners.

it is however possible, due to the item having vanished, that he made them resetting and put them in the cart
Aurora says, "Tharvis, why are you always breaking things?!" Artemis says, "You are so high maintenance, Tharvis, gosh." Tecton says, "It's still your fault, Tharvis."
Yeah we're not entirely sure what happened with that one. Either way, I'm glad she's at least been reunited with some of her stolen items, even though they had to be bought back at mostly 100k+ each.
