    EUIV is like crack man D:



    ... but... I'm pretty sure none of my explorers have actually -been- to the orient. ... How do I know? I've been busy warring in the mediteranean mostly... also, my explorer is docked in south america, having returned from figuring out where in the hell Canada is... I've barely rounded the cape in Africa, let alone spied the orient. (I don't have the supply range to even make it that far, for that matter.)

    For some weird reason, I am playing Baldur's Gate I e II again, with an evil character. A friend of mine might finish Angband on his first run with an half-troll warrior. I am trying to induct him to Achaea by feeding him roguelike games.

    I just finished playing through the new South Park game (on my macbook) and I gotta say - it was pretty awesome. I plan on playing through it again as another class soon.

    Last time I played Civ, I got ahead in tech but really behind in military.

    So I traded tech for protection, iirc. (Only played Civ like twice)

    Hi guys,

    My best friend - let's call him Mr. PAX for future reference - today defeated Morgoth in Angband, the famous rogue-like game. He slew the Greater Evil on his first run with his brilliant half-troll warrior, who will be forever remembered in the legends and songs of Middle-Earth for all the centuries to come.

    Honestly, I think this is a pretty impressive achievement. I never beat the game myself, and I grant you…it is pretty difficult. By the way, Mr. PAX beat FTL with every ship, yes even the new version…see my previous posts.

    Anyway, I am trying to Mr. PAX into Achaea because he is an impressive, dedicated, and smart player of anything that he can put his fast fingers on. However, Mr. PAX alleges that Achaea could endanger his marital life….impossible, I say!

    Therefore, I am posting a couple of screenshots of the last fight for you too see. He played using the basic tiles, instead pure ASCII. Please, do not be offended and just consider the tiles as a really deserved artist's license.

    Achaean community, please make him feel the warmth of the Achaeans!

    Maybe one day he will join us, and Sapience will be as one!

    So, I watched the trailer thingie for a game called The Forest on Steam, and was won over by it and bought it.

    It's in alpha/early access, so it's nowhere near finished. Man it's difficult, especially with the few bugs I've found so far.

    Much love to my BL2/L4D2/Civ 5/Monaco/whatever other else crew (you know who you are), as well as the people who keep me company playing DA: Origins (usually just one <3). Still as fun as it was when I first picked it up, really enjoying replaying it and so excited for Inquisition.

    @jurixe Yes, I almost risked a RL divorce over DA:Origins. My favorite moment is the first appearance of Morrigan, one of the best character ever. Mr. PAX delivered the game to my wife…so I banished him with Angband! I am super excited by DA:Inquisition too. I just hope EA will amend the second chapter of the saga, which I happily managed to avoid!

    If you're looking for Achaeans to play with, we have a good group that play together! You're welcome to join us, though it can be quite difficult to finish games <_<

    I thought they patched it so the multiplayer games are more stabilized, or is it because of time constraints of the players? I have it, enjoy it quite a bit. Add me on Steam if you want to play. My Steam handle is Testostapwn

    Best way to handle Civ multiplayer games is probably to get all the players to devote 36 hours or so one weekend.


    Breaking up the games piecemeal sucks.

    Yeah pretty much, unless you put it on quick (which I like because I'm pretty impatient)

    Epic is the most balanced length setting, since it allows for more time to move units/wage wars before epoch changes.

    If you play something like quick/large, your units are literally outdated before they get to your opponent. Meaning your opponent will always have more advanced tech than you do when they're on the defense, due to travel time.

    EUIV is crack. I've been playing a co-op conquest of the world from the Iberian Peninsula with @Daklore for, like..50+ hours now. It's amazing. France is scary though ;_; we ended last night with me being pulled into a war with France, and @Daklore is trying to jump in. It's gonna be scary D:


    (we have colonies in Africa, both Americas...@Daklore has a foothold on Ceylon as well)

    Has anyone played Warlock2: The exiled? long ago I used to play a game called "Age of Wonders".. it was a turn based game so this is the closest I've found, but can't find anything about it

    Played Warlock 1. Similar to Civ 5, with some major differences - it doesn't have happiness and mostly shows like a 4x actually. Age of Wonders is vastly different, maybe consider waiting for AoW 2 which IIRC is coming soon.

    Warlock 2 has Unrest, which functions similar to happiness.


    I have been enjoying Warlock 2. I recommend looking over the Steam forums for people's views and guides to get a feel for it.

    Age of Wonders 3 has been out for some time.
