You viciously jab a graceful court-style rapier of dark-hued steel into a Fomori of Unsidhe. You have scored an ANNIHILATINGLY POWERFUL CRITICAL hit! Lightning-quick, you jab a Fomori of Unsidhe with a slender parrying blade of dark-hued steel. You have scored an ANNIHILATINGLY POWERFUL CRITICAL hit! A low groan resonates from a Fomori of Unsidhe's putrid body before it explodes in a shower of body parts. The final blow proves too much for a Fomori of Unsidhe, who expires pitifully. You have slain a Fomori of Unsidhe, retrieving the corpse. A large pile of sovereigns spills from the corpse.
Now I just need two World-shattering crits on a doubleslash and my life will be complete!

You need to change class to monk and score WSC on the sidekick and both uppercuts. That makes your life more than complete

That... kind of defeats the purpose? I guess some people enjoy the easy route though

Unable to withstand the crushing pressure Sycaerunax brought to bear, the Citadel of Light explodes in a storm of emerald glass shards that blankets Shallam.
I always hated that building. We used to have a historical church basilica. Then, one day, the Gods decided that what we REALLY needed was a Wizard of Oz-style emerald spire.
I hated that building so much. I don't know how it was ever approved to drop a giant alien emerald tower in the middle of Shallam as a replacement for the Church. I think my first comment when I was inducted to help set it up was " W... T... F.... is this wizard of oz shit building, you (chain of expletives deleted) have dropped in the middle of our city
And if I wasn't bitter and jaded enough as a player that giant green beer bottle certainly didn't help.
The biggest problem though is Shallam has had a change of Divine and policy almost every year it seems. With Houses and multiple Divine all with different ideals and a long chain of good and bad doctrine, treatise, codices and the primary the absolute best thing to do was to reboot. What was currently setup with the Citadel was a complete mess and I don't see how it was ever going to work. Throwing another holy document and a new Divine over the top of that would have just been a recipe for further disaster.
Achaea needs a Good faction, one that can fill a much needed role to balance the axis of conflict in this game. I hope the Garden is doing this (you better bloody be doing this) I hope they get it right and build a faction with its own values, focus and integrity.
The biggest problem is that there will have to be a cull of players, and sadly that will mean even people we know and love might not be welcome in the new faction (hell that could even include me). And if Sarapis or Tecton reads this, the single best thing you can do is to not translate a single one of the leaders of Shallam directly into leadership in the new faction. Start everyone off at the bottom again and force them to prove their place through their action and activity.
Because if there was one serious problem with the culture of players in Shallam it was that leadership positions were something to be accumulated by the experienced rather than the active. I swear Shallam had more dormant or ineffective Viziers/Ministers at any given time than we had active and exciting ones. And I swear Shallam has only had two City leaders, and maybe a handful of Viziers/Ministers who knew what retirement was, every single one has overstayed their time, often well into dormancy, and for some reason that was acceptable within the current culture. Shallam has always had enough active people to have filled those roles if the culture would have permitted better change and a focus on activity over status.
If we do get a new Good (and we better, or we are all moving into Cyrene to take that over) please, please, please, please, hardline a new culture where advancement in and the retention of leadership positions is determined by demonstrated activity and achievement. And don't leave this aspect up to the current players until the current culture is curbed.
Woah that was long, well, at least it is out of my system. Ready to move on to new things now!
I'm the only one that disagrees that we're doomed >.> I clearly have not been around in the realms long enough to realise how much of a stomping we're in for <.<
Operation: Pop Black Cherry is in planning stages by non-Mhaldorians as we speak, Xer. Insider trading would suggest investing heavily in a few cases of KY. We have it coming in -spades-.

Well, doomed might be a little strong. It's not like they'd let a city get crushed and driven into the....nevermind.

Once Mhaldor loses the hundred free guards outside then yea Mhaldor going to get curb stomped for killing (or supporting the aliens responsible) off so many divine.

You should convince Refugees of Shallam* to declare hostile relations with us.
Looks like the Sentaari's clan inherited Apollyon's order spot in some variable, the Templar got Tarah's, so now my shield has it's heraldry back, even if it claims it's the Templar Legions :P
Okay Sentaari, here are the ground rules. You get 1 meal a day and must enlist as a city soldier. Your 160% and artefact package should be distributed once Carmain get's unshrubbed.

That reminds me of a picture I drew with a mouse in MS Paint, when Silas asked me for a portrait of his character:

Anyway back on topic, here is a quote...
"Erendil expediently wipes down the bar, trying to look as clean as possible for the next customer."
RIP The Templar Tavern! I will miss thee more than Shallam
To bad Tanris can't read it.
(so worth it)
