Funny thing is we did that at the north end of the city just so we could put totems on around our defendable and that was Eleusis's reaction don't respect Eleusis's ability to curb stomp us.
WE GOT THIS BROSEF, I'LL RALLY THE TROOPS, YOU GET THE PITCHFORKS!
Please remember to use fallen branches for the pitchfork handles, but only 2% of the fallen branches from any one area as we do not want to upset the natural habitat or cycle.
No...We had two defendable rooms that were in the Northern Ithmia and we could not implant totems on them so they were turned into cobbled paths so that we could implant totems. I just found @Seftin's comment ironic since a nearly identical event had transpired previously and was in no way commenting on @Bluef's comments about the cave. The cave however is geographically right outside the city and was the secret entrance to the observatory.

The entrance to the planetarium was closed off when Hashan created an interior entryway to the planetarium. The wooden panel, which Someone Powerful destroyed the pathway to at the same time all this cave warfare concert was going on, has not worked in ages. In other words, and just to echo @Jukilian, the caverns I was talking about were never and are not now in/around/nearby/adjacent to Hashan's defendable.
I have never really understood why Hashan has had 4+ entryways to the city at all times anyway though. I know the historical significance of the Portas and their connection to Twilight, but the usefulness of having north and south exits plus the two additional northern ones is a little confusing to me, particularly because they empty into the forest that Hashan has been chipping away at since its inception.
Someone logging into a super old novice alt doesn't really constitute a strong case for an old House to open its doors to other classes.
Why don't you just wait? When the Ashtan renaissance gets underway (within the next 6 months?) the Occultist House as you know it will likely disappear and you will get a House that allows any class (within reason).
A frenzied cleric screams, "Like more than one halo!"

I'm willing to wait, and don't have much choice. It just seems silly to say "Our history says we can't. When, historically, we have."

That was something I argued about with people before I left. I got tired of fighting with @bluef and @Amunet so just left. Then had to hear about how they were forced to whore themselves out and accept other classes to survive by the Demiurge at the time. Then the Garden stepped in and said Houses couldn't have overlapping classes (apparently not having a monopoly on a class was killing certain Houses, cause people weren't willing to submit to ridiculous reqs and bloated egos for da rich rp /soapbox).
It just seems silly to say "Our history says we can't. When, historically, we have."
"Our history says we tried this because it seemed like a good idea at the time. But almost none of the sylvans/apostates/serpents/infernals/mages/shamans did anything with the RP potential we thought they'd have. Turns out that most of this House's RP revolves around occult themes that other classes don't share, since they were carried over from the guild days and background of the class, and occult activities that other classes can't perform like travelling to the Chaos Plane to parlay with the Lords. People who play this game for leisure rather than obsessive escapism are unlikely to have the time or desire to spend dozens of hours developing a treatise on how Chaos and the occult relate to demons, or the spirits, or the elements, or Nature, to single-handedly carve out their class's niche in this House, and would probably rather just bash and hang out than entertain us with room illusions as they perform a ritual to send a floating eye flying around the Inferno planes while reporting back to us with remote viewing, or whatever type of thing we imagined people might do when we went multiclass. In addition to not bearing any fruit, this diversification was spreading us too thin, and denying us occultist-classed players to engage in the specific style of RP that made people want to join our House to begin with. So we cut classes back to just occultist, to focus on that strong core of elitism."

The only two people I can recall who weren't Occultist in the House that really made it worth it were 1. Blupikachug, what with the leviathan ordeal, and 2. @Terra, because she was House PVP/Mark God for a good long while there and also just fun to have around.

I totally get it bluji and there's not a ton of people that capitalized on it, but man isn't the RP potential awesome?! We actually made special reqs for that character on her return and told her how special she was to us . Would be cool to see her play it through

Oh yeah. It just seemed like you were saying "well they did it before!", while ignoring all the context surrounding that period. Specifically the reasons why it didn't work, and what would have to change to make it work. Those lessons need to be learned in a hurry, because the Occs have no alternative
but to change, probably dramatically, and either make it work or crash and burn.

As much as my contest got highlighted by the drama, the changing was much more the goal for me, and to be honest the days during and since the election have seen three old members come back (probably to save it from me) very positive discussions and actual work on change, and a few new novices who are awesome. As much as I hated the drama , the general forums armada and the hurt of losing, I've really enjoyed the past few days in spite of spoil sports

Okk tells you, "You 'woof'ed on a house channel in a conversation with the Lord Bard."
Hirst arrives from the east.
He is followed by a menacing kaleidoscopic cobra, a husk of Aelios, a husk of Proficy, a husk of
Andraste, and a blood steed.
4127h, 3692m, 18611e, 23387w cexkdb-
Nemutaur arrives from the east.
With a scream of rage, a red-crested falcon swoops in.
4127h, 3692m, 18611e, 23387w cexkdb-
Hirst drops a colossal lightning dragon.
4127h, 3692m, 18611e, 23387w cexkdb-
The radiant sun shines all about you.
4127h, 3692m, 18611e, 23387w cexkdb-
Nemutaur ceases to wield a Lupine bow.
Nemutaur begins to wield a Shield of Absorption bearing the House arms of the Ashura in his left
hand.
Nemutaur begins to wield a formidable rapier of crimson-tinged steel in his right hand.
Nemutaur moves in to engage you.
4127h, 3692m, 18611e, 23387w cexkdb-
A husk of Aelios delivers a blow which almost slices off a limb.
A husk of Proficy's eyes gleam as you are butchered with a wicked blow.
A red-crested falcon rips out a chunk of your flesh with its beak.
A husk of Andraste delivers a blow which almost slices off a limb.
You have been slain by Hirst.
Full health to zero, even Jhui doesn't hurt that much. Why do these things even exist?

Edit: Freaking typos.

To everyone who keeps telling me that it makes no RP sense for the Occultists to open it's doors to other classes.
Ranks edited out for secrecy and junk
