I'm sorry for initially Lol-ing your post. I retracted it. It just seems a bit dramatic. Yield the writs. Stop witnessing shrines. Focus instead on raising them. There are many different options available to your character along the spectrum before quitting the game all together.
Yea that would have been great that's what I was doing was raising the shrines and oh look they would get defiled again 5 minutes later so yea it was just stupid as all get out and oh it's still going on a whole day later so obviously it's not going to stop anytime soon. So who gives a crap at this point.
Perhaps you need to be more creative in your shrine placement. Look to your God(s) for some assistance even. This happens all the time to the Dreamers, who are not a militant order by in large. We just roll with it the same way we did Aegis jumping into the Dreamrealm and effectively forcing us to blow up our beloved riverside Temple: There is probably some fun RP to be had here.
You might also consider some RP related to the loss of recent shrines: A rally to offer essence at a protected or master shrine to increase the pool you need to fight back properly. A public or private prayer to the God(s) at a protected shrine asking for direction or growth of influence. Discussing the means of shrines and their impact in the realm with other Targossians (I'm looking at you @Daeir).
There are so many options. I think what's clear though is that you don't have the temperament for shrine conflict. It's ugly and barbaric and relentless, but it's also opt-in.
Putting shrines up in the Reaches, just outside of the city, is pretty much asking for them to be attacked so that they can be defended. They're obviously not there for offering corpses since there's Aurora and Deucalion shrines everywhere in the city.
So their utility is in their value as defendable targets. Sometimes they get defended, sometimes they don't. But if they're not being defended because there's nobody on to defend them, I don't see the point of immediately putting the shrine back up in the same spot. At least wait for Gerwulf and Jaelyth to log on, guys.
@Amarillys The area right before you enter Targossas called eastern reaches.
This has been bothering me for a while, why is it called that? I mean where does it say its called that? I remember it confused the hell out of me when I first joined, I was surveying everything to find this Reaches place
Cleaning up a log, and came across this little treasure... bit old obviously, but, during a particular debate:
Phaestus shields His eyes against the collective Ashtani eye-sparkle.
Nieelensars smirks at Phaestus.
Atalkez utters a deep, rumbling laugh at Phaestus.
(United Union of Crafters): Lianca says, "Next submission, burberry eye-masks."
(United Union of Crafters): Phaestus says, "Ahaha."
(United Union of Crafters): You say, "You're making me giggle, and this is srs business, damnit."
(United Union of Crafters): Lianca says, "I don't eyesparkle! Must defend myself ."
(United Union of Crafters): Taraus says, "Is taking every ounce of restraint I have to not indignantly claim I jingle, not sparkle."
(United Union of Crafters): Phaestus says, "Anymore*."
And I love too Be still, my indelible friend That love soon might end You are unbreaking And be known in its aching Though quaking Shown in this shaking Though crazy Lately of my wasteland, baby That's just wasteland, baby
I've got at least 2-3 other Magi in Hashan, so I'm never lonely. Come join Hashan, we have Magi.
2-3 magi? Join warlocks. We are shitting magi right now. Cata on demand. I haven't thought "Sure would be nice to have a magi to help me spin a cata for this raid" in like six months. @Jonesey tell em, brother.

In that case, come join Hashan - we're not Ashtan and we have Magi.
