He was pointing out the irony of not taking anything from Mhaldor and then showing a Hashani house with necromancy.

Also why wtf my post :(  Clearly Mannimar wasn't done with setting the hodgepog collection of classes.  Occies and Necros in the same house?

Eh, that is just an artifact, not like Mhaldor would let us have any necromancers anyway. I vote SW be Shaman only.

  • Spirit Walkers have had apostates since Apollyon was their patron back in the day, if I'm not mistaken. Makes more sense than the Merchants having infernals, anyway.

Ya, like I said, it is an artifact from back during Mhaldor's "secret invasion" where they were actually trying to influence our culture, cold war style.

I thought your letter was exquisitely well done, @Jurixe; it captured the Mhaldorian air perfectly.

You say to Lyaeus, the travelling bard in a rich, contralto voice, "Only if you've a song about Ashtan."
An old sailor slaps his thighs and guffaws like an old man.
An old sailor exclaims, "Aye, Ashtan is the place to be, mate!"

Lyaeus, the travelling bard taps his hoof thoughtfully on the floor.

    :-L Thanks Lyaeus.

I miss Ulrike, and now I shall temporarily despise you for reminding me of that fact.

To be fair, I think it was pretty effective. Cough. We receive so many Hashani converts and in turn, you enemy them for leaving and coming to Mhaldor, just like Mhaldor would have done.

    Props for the letter though.
"Mummy, I'm hungry, but there's no one to eat! :C"

  • @Pathers says in a low, charismatic voice, "My reflex works though, I now have arrowcatching up."

An arrow flies in towards Pathers.
The arrow strikes Pathers, gouging a deep and bloody wound.
Pather's eyes close suddenly as he falls asleep.

You say in a cold, monotone voice, "Excellent reflexes".

     @Artanis snickers softly to himself.

Losing their light in the glorious sun,
Thus would we pass from this earth and its toiling,
Only remembered for what we have done."

Because if you didn't know that, you are already dead.

Not sure what you are referencing, since what I am talking about happened years ago. The only real lasting effect of that era is we still have necromancers on our accepted class lists. I thought it was especially poetic when Ourania threw the spire into the Ivory Temple.

    heh, yeah.

Now that's all over though I bet she'd have time to adjust the list of allowed classes in the houses in which she patrons, just to remove any artifacts which no longer make sense. You should hit her up :)

I do believe that is up to the houses themselves, not the matrons, as previously stated, Hashan is not Mhaldor. :P

    oh, right.

Maybe let them know in game that they aren't Mhaldor, so they can ask her to fix any artifacts

Nah, I'm sorta busy. You can if you want since it seems to bother you so much!

    Thanks for the laughs. +1

Again, Hashan works a bit differently, the houses and city are largely independent of one another, unlike Mhaldor which is essentially one giant unilateral organization with subdivisions. Hashan is actively hostile against Mhaldor. Mhaldor has effectively run out any necromancers from the city(See Hhaos). However, dropping or keeping necromancers is the right of the houses themselves and I have no right to tell them otherwise, whether I approve or not. I don't feel that takes away from my reply to Jurixe in declining attendance and thus not condoning an event specifically designed to lord Mhaldor over everyone else.

  • Calm down...
  • Oh, Hashan. The Ashtani "Not my problem bro" defence should be beneath you if you want to be taken seriously as an org. I mean shit, even Ashtan is moving away from that.
