How do I put char marks on rapiers? Or is that a House denizen customization? I really want to make one of my rapiers different so I won't confuse the two. Thanks!

I assumed that was the result of having it augmented by a Magi. Doesn't seem like a House customisation because I've seen knights from all over with it. I'm not 100% positive on that though.

I don't remember the precise command, but any forger can char something (not just weapons! think outside the box) in a forge.

  • Sorry I was in a rush earlier and idk how many fireplaces there are. You need some wood and you place it in the fireplace in thera inn. Then you put the rapier in the fireplace and it chars it.

Play around with it and you'll get it. It's fairly easy

Weird. I totally thought I saw someone do it in Cyrene's forge once, but perhaps I'm misremembering!

how did bladefire used to work?
I'll bite. Remember, this was ages ago, so my memory is somewhat limited.

Initially it was intended the swords were gifts of the Gods. There were also devotion shrines, and iirc later on that's where you got your blades. A lot of your powers were tied to the shrines, and they were pretty much indestructible if I recall correctly. You only wielded one sword, and all except one (forget which one) were one-handed. You used special powers - most quote the one that 'removed a skill' as OP, but IIRC it just lowered it like a truedisfavour does, and it didn't work as well as you'd think. The really OP one was paralysis. This was because paralysis was a command like writhe/compose - NOT cured by a pill/elixir (pills were old curatives, and they were NOT analogous to herbs, some pill stuff did what elixirs do now, some elixirs did what herbs do now). Funny part was the command took ages, so they could just use that over and over and you were screwed.

There were some pretty sick swords, too. The amber ones you see around sometimes were the newbie swords. There was a green one with insane to-hit, a two-handed one, I forget them all.

In the end though, a few abilities were WAY OP, most were all but useless. We were generally speaking glad to see it go, and get chivalry/forging instead.

    I have undressed a god.

The command to cure paralysis was RELAX, someone mortal was chasing around Thoth before Gods could zap/had divine fire/teleport.  Those were the days, RIP Telnet

Why aren't fishscale tunics like a proper article of clothing? I can see my nipple piercings through it and that makes it not even worth customising :(

maybe it's a bug from when they were adding those 'show piercing/legwear/raisehood' features to clothing?

  • KyrraKyrra Australia
Maybe, I think Robes of the Magi are fine for this but not the tunics.

  • It might just be an oversight. I would bug it, or maybe issue or email artefacts@achaea.com if you want a faster response.
  • I'd bug it; I had the same issue with the new prismatic ring (it was showing up through my gauntlets) and that was fixed relatively quickly.

anybody know when those HoHoHo society rewards start arriving?
Aurora says, "Tharvis, why are you always breaking things?!"
Artemis says, "You are so high maintenance, Tharvis, gosh."
Tecton says, "It's still your fault, Tharvis."

  • @Mannimar That's actually the image I had at the time, though I have other rings that I'd prefer to be visible rather than a standard artefact. Wouldn't mind the option on a per item basis but that's not likely to happen any time soon.

It should be that if you wear the ring after the gauntlets/gloves etc, then it's on the outside. Otherwise, it's on the inside.
I just got a mental image of trying to remove rings under the gloves while gloves are on... and removing gloves while rings are over them.

  • Runewarden Skills Question:

Am rogue runewarden. Mostly hunt/quest/some RP. Not much/any PvP atm.

Have trans'd chivalry and almost mythical in runelore. Plan to get it up to runeblades, but don't see the need to spend 400+ more lessons on remaining skills which aren't useful for me. Beyond that I need a bit more to get to focusing in survival.

My question is: past the above, is there any hunting benefit to weaponry or riding, or should I go to avoidance?

From what I can tell, defence in riding looks similar to avoidance, but I don't know if it only helps with PvP attacks or if is lessens damage of denizen attacks as well. Flying mount as well as galloping has some utility, but it's an awful lot of lessons to get there. On weaponry, I'm up to decapitate - but don't see a need for throwing, shattering or beheading unless I get into PvP - which isn't part of the game plan right now.

    Thanks in advance.

Weaponry will increase your damage (and maybe also speed) with your dsls.

I'd recommend up to clotting in survival, a little past focus. Even if all you do is hunt, some things cause a fairly large amount of bleeding that a moss tattoo alone won't always be good for. Beyond that, if you're not transing survival, I'd max out weaponry first, and then avoidance. Even if you don't use the higher skills in weaponry, a higher skill level will increase your damage, and I believe to-hit and speed as well.

The utility from riding is nice, galloping and such, but I don't believe the defence ability works on denizens. Even if it does, it's affected by the level of your mount and your skill level in riding. Basically, you'd need a legend steed to get the best effect out of it, which is a large gold investment, and you'd want an artefact collar for it as well, to prevent some random troll newbie from killing it while you're away. Basically avoidance is the safer, more consistently effective choice.

  • Clot is a chivalry skill also, and defense from riding is pve only. Trans weaponry will help a fair bit, as will avoidance.
  • ah right, forgot clot is in chivalry.

  • Against denizens, learning weaponry won't increase your damage if you already have trans chivalry. Trans weaponry will still be useful for the speed (0.1 seconds faster, before nimble) and accuracy.
  • Thanks @Kuy, @Shunsai, @Rispok and @Sena for the answers!

So bottom line seems like weaponry will give me .1 in speed when I trans it (the comment said before nimble, I do have nimble - so is it still .1 faster?) and otherwise against denizens no difference; so mainly it's needed on PvP.

Riding on the other hand sounds like it works like avoidance and will give damage reduction (same as avoidance or better/worse?) vs. denizens and on PvP gives the dodge bonus.

    Is that a correct assessment?
