    I tried going to https://www.achaea.com/flash/ and found a client that would connect (indicating it's not a network issue) but is unfortunately unable to handle GMCP and prompts correctly, making it essentially unplayable. Alas, still a success for the purpose of troubleshooting the HTML5 client issues I'm having.

    Any ideas? Able to connect via regular telnet and the outdated Flash client from the same computer. Windows 7, Chrome v49.0.2623.87 m.

    I'm not much of a network technician, unfortunately...I really dunno. Makarios/Nicola would be the best bet here, and I've tagged them already. Hopefully one or the other will notice and might have some solutions for you. Other alternative is to post your question the technical difficulties thread on forums, its possible that someone who's good with that stuff will notice it there, but might miss it here.

    For bashing, would it be better to use an insignia to switch to a better spec or just buy a level 1 longsword (snb pally)?

    Unless you plan to switch specs a lot, I'd just use 100 lessons for it.

    I'd personally much prefer to have an insignia than a level 1 weapon. The ability to swap specs every day is pretty huge. I wouldn't be surprised if they doubled the price on it at some point.

    SnB gets to use SoA so the trade off is lousier DPS. Fullplate/runes/blessings/SoA is p good defense.

    You'll get to dragon much slower but the trade off is probs dying less

    SoA has the speed of a buckler, now. Just made it all the more better.

    Speed isn't the problem for bashing, so much as trash damage on the shield portion of combination, afaik.

    The damage on wsc with shield is hilariously disappointing.
    I am retired and log into the forums maybe once every 2 months. It was a good 20 years, live your best lives, friends.

    During my Bard-bashing experiment, I actually noticed the exact same thing. Clearly I need to sacrifice more people to RNGesus or something. Getting a WSC and seeing the target's health drop by 10-12% is painful.

    16str + soulpiercer and my accentato WSC blows dogs for quarters.

         He is a coward who has to bring two friends as backup to jump people hunting.

    Hit a lot of different people with different ranges of health until their limb break, note down the results, then fine-tune from there.

    Which is to say, I don't think there's a perfect formula out there, at least that we've figured out. At least for knights. I know Dragons and Druids(?) and Magi(?) break on a set number of hits.

    And you won't understand the cause of your grief...

    Druids break on four.

    Sentinels used to use maul and break on 5 I think, but that's all out of the window with skirmishing (god I miss jaguars reflexes). 

    There's a formula in AK that does predict limb-damage. But I don't find it particularly accurate, so I've built a script around it that adjusts the value when a limb breaks too early or not when expected.

    Yes, transferred it to my Azatlani war horn (customised Mhaldorian wearable horn).

    The message is essentially the same, with "ring of shining metal" replaced with war horn. Bear in mind it has to be a wearable item!

    It replaces "the ring of shining metal" with whatever the item is. I had it on my wings, so it said "the wings of shifting mist carries you up into the skies" instead.

    (I've since put it back on a ring, though.)

    I will take Dual Cutting Runie with the more expensive SoA Paragon over SnB any day for bashing.
