For the longest damn time my eyes always wanted to read the T as an L, so when I first noted his existence, I pronounced in my head as al-ka-taz.
It's pretty dumb but it's stuck all this time, even when I try to reinforce in my head uh-tall-keez.
And I love too Be still, my indelible friend That love soon might end You are unbreaking And be known in its aching Though quaking Shown in this shaking Though crazy Lately of my wasteland, baby That's just wasteland, baby
A (soft a) Tal (first syllable in Taliban) Kez (Rhymes with Fez from that 70's show)
Best answer.
The name originates from a character in a short novel I started years ago, named Zeklata. You may see that one floating around in some of the games, too.
When I started Achaea, I didn't want to bring that character into this world so I went with something a little different but still kind of the same. Has turned into a name I like better than the original though.
Taking things and putting them backwards was something my friends and I did all through school. My nickname was my first and last maleness backwards with a twist. Fun times.

When getting your system to track afflictions being added/removed through gmcp. Is it a good or bad idea to have compression on/off?
Like... does Compression off mean that you receive the aff add/remove info before text output is displayed on the next prompt?
That is not an ordinary star, my son.
That star is the tear of a warrior. A lost soul who has finished his
battles somewhere on this planet. A pitiful soul who could not find his
way to the lofty realm where the great spirit awaits us all.
@Lucianus Compression off seems to mean you can receive messages at any time, whereas compression on means you'll always receive gmcp messages before text. At least, that's what I've seen in some recent testing.

Yeah, I seem to get a lot of bugs with scripts that runs off of room gmcp info on when I have compression off. Was wondering if there may be errors related to gmcp aff and char information for others as well.

The tempest brooch talisman pieces are from the Conclave set, so they're available via trade or when promos give a chance at something from the Conclave set.
The Tempest Brooch is also an artifact that sells for 150 credits, so you can just buy one straight up without dealing with the talisman system, if you can afford one. Worth every bit of it if you want to ever fly, imo.

Yep, saw it there too. I already have two of the pieces, so figured I would ask around and see if I could pick up the rest.
That map has not been updated in 13 years. Damn, memories.
Right!
When I saw it, I had a flashback of my younger years and that faded map on a whiskey/soda/cigarette-burn stained piece of printer paper, complete with perforated edges.
I have crooks from the Wheel of Fortune for Mayaween. Does it do anything aside from turning people into animals?
When you turn people into animals with the crooks, they get all their endurance and willpower back.

I have heard about the Achaea Flash client. Is there still a link to this somewhere? I was trying to login with the current HTML5 client that is found at play.achaea.com and for some reason it does not work on the computer I am using right now. (Windows 7, current Chrome browser.) I was curious to try using the Flash client to see if it's a client issue or a network issue.

I'm not sure if there is one, but I would recommend using mudlet rather than the flash client, personally. It allows for better modifications and the like, although it doesn't have the pretty graphics that the HTML5 client has.
It also is by far the most used client in Achaea, so its easiest to get help if you run into problems with it.
I use Mudlet at home but I'm not at home. I can't install it here.
Ahh, welp. I got nothing then I did a quick google search to see if I could find a link for the old client, but I found nothing someone else may have a link to it somewhere.
