I'm looking to get a couple of artifacts. I'm wondering if there is any reason not to add powers to an item rather than buy the artifact itself?

Also, when it says one ring at a time, does that mean you have to choose between mana and health increase ring?
There are two reasons you might not add powers to an item rather than buying the artefact itself. 1. Not all artefacts have transferable/purchasable powers, so you have to buy the item. 2. It costs an additional 25 credits to add a power to an item, so you'd end up spending considerably more.
Health and mana sip increase rings are separate powers, so you can have both. You can't have two of the same power - including different levels - and have them stack, meaning you can't wear multiple health sip rings and get more than a 30% increase.

3. Having multiple artifact rings is nice for icewall/firelash/resists/etc. No worries about decay that way, and rings are covered up on LOOK by gauntlets/gloves if you wear those so they don't have to spam up your desc.
Only the artefact version (the prismatic ring) has enchantments that never fade. So worth.

I was looking for them first, you wretch. You're the copy cat here!

The goblin does a spitting attack that's probably poison, and I think the beetle rider does too. Not sure about the eight-legged goblin, but haven't seen anything else from the others.
Working on a forging order and trying to figure out one of those weird nuances.
HELP FORGING states that armour can have up to 1-2 extra stat points, and weapons 1-3 extra stat points. To clarify, does that mean total stat points, or stat points in a singular stat? For example, if you forge a set of scalemail with two descriptors, is the most you can get 2 extra stat points (however it's distributed), or is it 2 stat points in one and 1 stat point in the other?
My assumption is the former but having some confirmation on it would be nice.
