I'm doing over 100k an hour on tide bashing. That is extremely good.
That's considerably higher than I was getting, but it's also been a while since I bothered to hunt them (because it is SO damn boring). I found that constantly having to move rooms, and then wait for that initial spawn, really cut into the rate at which you could gain gold and xp. I've heard that with the new meld shrines you can basically just camp a single room, though, so that would probably help.
I know this has been asked about a million times over the years, but which would give me the best bang for my buck: upgrade level 2 reserves to 3, or constitution to 3?
I am retired and log into the forums maybe once every 2 months. It was a good 20 years, live your best lives, friends.

Here is a link to a google document I made a while back that you'll find useful. It doesn't calculate regeneration to level 3 and occasionally has a slight rounding error (for example it says my health should be 6729.8, but it is actually 6729). Adjust the green values.
Grook scholar with level 1 belt. I'll add other level arties over time, but for now, would it be worthwhile to respec for more con? I don't have any other arties that affect stats, but I kind of feel like the reduction in damage wouldn't be too noticeable for PvE ,and damage isn't a significant factor in PvP success for Magi (unless I'm wrong, and please correct me if I am) so I think the extra con would really help make life more manageable.
Currently, if I grab some runes and a piece of Azelhurium, I feel invincible while hunting, which is kind of nice.
I guess my question is really how much does INT affect stoneskin, diamondskin, and staffcast damage, and would I really notice the 2 less INT?
stone/diamondskin start seeing diminishing returns at 18 INT. As for damage, that's solely up to you. You could opt for having max damage, or letting your opponent get away with 250HP
I would notice the 2 int loss. Most artificing attacks scale off int(last I tested it), so you're losing a little predamage with every single prep combo. It's not much but it does add up. I'd say 3% per artificing attack is probably a fair estimate past 16 int
Is pummel affected by int? And destroy is conditional on burn level and remaining health, but would the difference really be noticeable? And do you think the health would outweigh the loss of int for diamondskin/stones kind?
I'm really thinking I should grab the extra con at least until I've bashed to dragon, then maybe switch back. I mean, I'm nowhere near the level that an extra point of int damage is doing to be the deal breaker. I just want confirmation that it won't make bashing unbearably slow and destroy any chances of PvP success I might have stumbled upon.
If you're purely bashing, go con, then switch to int when you want to pvp again. Mages scale really well off int, and there -is- a difference when things start adding up (palpitation, energize, dissonance, artifice attacks, staffcast, conflagrate, holo, etc) during a fight. Those extra 3-5% damage tics can make or break a fight
More con will always be better than the int bonus off skins for hunting. Not everything does physical damage. More int means you bash not only faster, but you can bash longer (more wp). I've always voted glass cannon for every single class I've been. I'd pick one int over two con all day for magi just because of how much that one int is going to effect almost everything you do.
I noticed that some afflictions given by war beetle, ogre, shadow does not seem to have any effect on fighting them. You can just put clumsiness, confusion on ignore and still continue to fight. You can have one arm crippled and you are still good to go. That or I am too lucky to get consistent hits against these beasts. If that's not the case, would this be a bug or some conspiracy* by tsol'teth? I am going to wait one more day and see if I get different results.
* Don't have to answer for the latter, but if it is so then the tsol'teth are smarter than I thought.
Knights aren't affected by only one arm being crippled any more, that was changed in one of the classlead rounds this year (the one before this most recent one). Allow both to become crippled, though, and you'll stop being able to attack. Accuracy on denizens also seems to be considerably higher than on adventurers (most likely due to their lack of ability to dodge); when I first tried out dirk bashing as a Dragon on the Tide creatures it took me a while to realise I'd never actually learnt the proficiency, because I still wasn't missing that often.
Confusion is only really an issue if you're a class that uses equilibrium (since your recovery time will be slowed) or the denizen also has a way to knock you off equilibrium (because you won't be able to concentrate until you cure it).
I guess I am just too slow to notice what things are affected. I bashed the creatures of Tide for one full hour with clumsiness and confusion uncured. Didn't miss at all. Confusion did cause delay in recovering form use of shield tattoo (almost 6 seconds instead of 4). All in all, if nothing is wrong, then it just like a way to burn away curatives stored in rift if I continue to cure (thanks Jhui for post about curingset). Elixirs are easy to find. Salves are easy to find. But minerals are rare commodity now. I had to go to Ashtan to buy aurum. Three corsairs greeted me together with threatening grin followed by war witch pinching my butt. I am not used to this.

Penwize has cowardly forfeited the challenge to mortal combat issued by Atalkez.
