Higher base damage means the criticals hit for more. For instance, if your attack does 2% x 32 = 64%, whereas 5% x 32 = 160%. Means when you start getting the upper end criticals, you're one-shotting most things (the only thing I can't one-shot with a WSC at 19 str with a level 3 bastard sword are DKs), and that makes you hunt quicker.
Edit: Nvm. I'm not really going to try to convince anyone of this, but basically everyone I've met who's changed from any other knight spec to 2h at dragon's been pretty satisfied with the result!
I like bard (horkval) and alchemist too. Haven't revisited serpent since the changes and I can't comment on sylvan/sentinel/priest which are all apparently solid choices as well.
I think dwc got a buff recently, after the first round of damage changes. Which is nice given the arte costs. If this hierarchy is accurate it seems fair.
He is a coward who has to bring two friends as backup to jump people hunting.
Assuming the sip formula is still (70+MaxHealth*15/100)*(80+(1..40))/100, how much/in what way does Receptive Body affect it?
Nevermind, actually searching for it revealed it's a 5% bonus, which is completely not worth it. It provides like 5 extra HP per sip at level 20, and actually provides less per sip at 80, than just boosting con with Robust, which it conflicts with. Going with a con boost gives just as good if not better sip AND more health to work with.

More constitution also increases entirely percentage-based things, such as irid moss/potash, boar tattoo, berkana, regeneration rings, etc. It's always the better choice.
Does anyone know how to get soil for the quest in Judgement Mountain on Meropis? They simply said from the jungle around the mountain and i've been through all of it to find no soil. I've also tried to 'gather soil' and 'take soil' as well as push and pull random things in room description but no result. Anyone have a clue on this?
Just a random guess... Tried digging with a shovel?
Forgot to mention that. Also tried digging around. Nothing...unless there is some specific room out there..but I did try to dig in all locations that made mention of soil
Sadly the jungle is pretty large, divided in 3 sections (North, Central and South), and not the safest/easiest thing to transverse with 90% of the things trying to eat you. I suppose this quest is more along the lines of "Found the item, do the quest" rather than "Got the quest, find the item".
@Makarios@Cellorran Any chance we could get some specifics on the crucious (crit gambling) paragon? Is it an equal 50/50 chance to upgrade or fail on every single crit?
And do we -really- get a 64x damage crit? Cause that's beautiful. If so, what's it called?
It would be cool to have a Reality-Warping Critical!
Anybody know what the balance is on the LEAP ability from chitin greaves?
- (Eleusis): Ellodin says, "The Fissure of Echoes is Sarathai's happy place." - With sharp, crackling tones, Kyrra tells you, "The ladies must love you immensely." - (Eleusian Ranger Techs): Savira says, "Most of the hard stuff seem to have this built in code like: If adventurer_hitting_me = "Sarathai" then send("terminate and selfdestruct")." - Makarios says, "Serve well and perish." - Xaden says, "Xaden confirmed scrub 2017."
I've looked into several meropis quests now and i can attest to the obscurity.
For Iskadar, i went around some time trying to figure it out after i got a necklacr of comprehension. I eventually discovered i could take the pickaxe from a dwarf corpse to use on the rocks but apparently it isnt enough. The description would state that perhaps i need gloves? Unsure. Nonetheless i doubt the rocks are the focus of the quest to begin with.
The stallion was also rather obscure. Took me a bit of time to figure out how not to make the shaman blow me out of the room. I then discovered it requires a looot of mini quests in order to begin the main one. Left it aside for now
The judgement mountain and soil...you already know the tiresome issues i ran into there. Still have yet to complete it.
Recently tried dralhu and aftet i finally found and killed the ogre chief harassing them I was then asked to remove the head. I went to every named mob in the village i could but no luck. I then tried a huntress outside in the jungle around the village and she just took the corpse. Gave up after that.
You can switch slots even if you're not tri-Trans in your current one, you just can't gain a new class in an empty slot if you're not tri-Trans in all your other classes.
Can I see some examples customized artifact weapons? I'm happy to see the Examined description, but I'm particularly interested in the Appearance and what you guys have been able to get away with in the past.
