Are ships supposed to eat gold daily from the strongbox even when you have absolutely no crew hired?

    Seems fishy.
If you're keeping your fish in the strongbox, you have bigger problems, I think.
Probably the reason she doesn't have a crew.

@Kadin mostly got gold, pocketbelts of ink, sigils, lifestones, and regular vials. I think he got one artie pipe and one artie vial that he ended up trading in. No big arties or special items, though.

Anyways, I have some questions regarding Marks.

Are you allowed to hire Quisalis on Quisalis, and will they fulfill the contract? Someone I hired on, I forgot they were Quisalis and hired a Quisalis on them. I seem to recall the denizen who takes the contracts used to deny same Mark org contracts, but they didn't on that one. If they're not allowed to complete  the contract, I might as well cancel it. This person is a rogue, so they don't conflict with other Marks in any other way.

First question: Did anyone happen to keep a collection of all of the aurora supernalis messages? I was looking to do an interesting piece, but having those messages would be exceptionally helpful!

Second question: For seven mayan crowns, do you (all of you who have an opinion) feel the skull in the shop of wonders is worth it? As far as I am given to understand, only priests have the ability to firmly locate souls (everyone can use who b, but it's semi inaccurate as you can't find people in other parts of the world from you, and of course if they dc'd it's no good). I feel like for an apostate it would be very useful, but I'm also very frugal so spending seven crowns on that alone gives me pause.
And I love too                                                                          Be still, my indelible friend
That love soon might end                                                         You are unbreaking
And be known in its aching                                                      Though quaking
Shown in this shaking                                                             Though crazy
Lately of my wasteland, baby                                                 That's just wasteland, baby

The skull is rather worthless if you have any scripting ability.  The reason I got to people so fast, is simple, parse out WHO information for The soul of <that guy died oh no>, and grab the room and automatically search for the room.  This covers a large percentage of times you could get the body. Any other time just send a tell, if they are ripped oh well. xp is easy enough to come by.

Anything else can just be a tell.  Compare the Pebble to the Skull ? not even close. I would hold on to it and wait for stock to change for something useful.

Nimble. No quick-witted, went for CON instead. Yes it resets to 10. Just tried on a mhun conjuror and mhun guard. The amount of time it took me to kill them is ridiculous for being level 109.  :(

I agree. In 9/10 cases, WHO B is perfectly sufficient to locate corpses precisely. The skull wouldn't be worth it to me for the few remaining cases.

Besides, you're evil now, @Melodie. Quit trying to help people who were too weak to stay alive.

Tree all the way.  @Iocun‌ wrote up a nice argument in its favor that will forever stick with me.
  • At a cost of 300 gold per Boar tattoo and 100 credits to make it permanent, assuming you get the credits for 6000 gold per, a permanent Boar tattoo costs as much as 2000 inked Boars.  So even if you get two Boars inked per day, every day, the tattoo will only pay for itself after three IRL years.

If you're not already tri-trans, I'd get lessons first.

There is also an intangible factor: the annoyance of having to constantly re-ink boars (and moons, etc.). I found the removal of that annoyance to be worth 100cr. Your mileage may, of course, vary. :)

  • The other thing is that, until you get Trans Tattoos, you're limited to seven tattoos and when you get into PVP Boar is not one of the seven tattoos you'll probably have (I have Tree/Shield/Cloak/Mindseye/Moon/Moss/Hammer, sometimes swapping out one of those for Starburst).

Once you're Trans, though, being picky about tattoos becomes rather pointless.
  • Should I get elite again and perm tattoos are just 100cr right?

You don't need to trans tattoos to get more than 7.  Can get to 9 pretty easily with low inkmilling and expert tattoos.

Learn canvas in inkmilling (can get one on your back then)

    From help tattoos:
You may have only one tattoo on each body part, until you have risen to the
rank of skilled in tattoos at which point you will be able to ink a second
tattoo on your torso. At the rank of expert you will be able to ink a second
tattoo on your head, a second on your left leg at fabled, and a second on your
right leg at mythical. Once you receive the ability of Superscribing at
transcendent, you will be allowed to have two tattoos on each body part

Personally I recommend perma tree, shield and moon (because there are a lot of little mana drains defs like alertness, skywatch). You can usually wait to reink boars so the need for a perma boar is less.

Even at trans, there can be some decision making to do, especially if you want backups of important ones. One of the major advantages to permanent tree/shield is not having to worry about carrying around multiples in case you run out at a crucial time.

I  have a question about an item. The person I bought it from said they believed this came from the Shaman Guild, and another player who was in the Guild said they think it might have been also, but they can't remember for sure. Anyone else that was around for the Shaman Guild able to confirm or deny?

    a ritual drum

Old forest maplewood, sanded smooth and coated with a clear lacquer, forms
the shell of this slim wooden drum. The hide of a prized Tomacula cow has been
processed, treated, dried and stretched across the rounded shell. The head of
the drum is secured with slender, strong leather ties that come neatly together
at the uppermost back and centre, allowing the drummer to hold the instrument in
one hand and gently play upon the soft hide with the other. The maple wood lends
a warm, even tone to the instrument whenever the drum is thrummed.
    It weighs about 6 pounds.
