I know that the only time one should use rixil focus
Typo and yeah, I probably could have tree'd more, given that Nin’Kharsag wasn't on me. Or was it, hrm.
About the occultist thing, I'd suggest pretty much what Cooper et al did. Fight them in Dragon if you can, or if your lesserform class is a prep class or Serpent then you can aim to fight them in lesser too. Play defensively, enmesh often, fly very often, prioritise something like paralysis>vertigo>lethargy. I think I'd suggest that mainly because iirc vertigo is harder to stick because it's random, but they can instill Lethargy whenever they have eq.
The popular argument for Torc being "not that strong" back when it was used more often and by big name fighters was that you could just not cure stupidity. That is obviously pretty ridiculous, but it is generally the best defence against it. Don't use focus unless you're out of the room and they can't see you do it - i.e. don't cure stupidity until you can fly and then focus asap. I would just manual the focus and do it less frequently if they catch on, causing them to waste afflictions. An alternative is to take a defensive action if you feel like you need to focus in-room to Rixil.
Create dynamic curing sets. A bit more difficult, but I'm pretty sure you're capable of it. Between ginseng and kelp afflictions, you might want to eat the herb that you have the most afflictions of. I don't know how this works in practise as I never got to try it, but it should make it much more difficult for them to track what afflictions you have.

Torc mechanics like this are really strong in regards to keeping momentum with cadmus. They can keep keep herb pressure up while paralyzed/entangled/prone and can't underestimate stupidity as a buffer given the way Rixil works.
I don't think I'm curing optimally though, this class should be hinderable by the usual means given how fast they afflict
It's Torc as a whole that's the problem. With full vibes gone, I wouldn't be all that surprised if it was just removed and refunded. It would make balancing classes a whole lot easier.

Still useful to stop shatter or behead etc. It might be the fact that it gives 'mind paralysis' which is not stopped by much. Maybe rework it to give paralysis another way, like an untargetted dirk curare jab equivalent.
There is just a huge difference between classes in what they can do while prone or in retardation. I think just deleting it would be a massive hit to the classes that have nothing else available, while it really wouldn't matter at all to others in this way (see: telepathy, arc, somersault, tumble/wunjo/nairat (tumwunat?), prone illusions, the entire jester class).
I'd be totally cool with having my torc deleted along with the rest, but it'd definitely require individual attention for each class to see how their defense could be adjusted if necessary.
I will go ahead and state (admit?) that I bought my torc solely for surviving retardation+vibes, and rarely if ever used it for anything else, so I'd almost prefer a refund now that both RNG-rinse-and-repeat magi and ret trap magi are things of the past.
Against DB I recommend parrying left arm. Against 2h, You -reeeaally- need to parry head. It's insanely easy for them to gain momentum with even just one or two skull fractures (each one adds a full second to your sip/apply balance) Keeping up shield and rebounding is also a good idea. Syncing them up will allow you to catch up on health while letting one go up after the other will help catch up on fractures.
Is there a Mudlet timestamp how-to somewhere I could look into? I think I can figure out how to echo the afflictions.
Yes, you simply echo system time. you don't need to use svo or anything. You can also have them show up as hover-only over your prompt, if you don't want it taking up space on your screen.
Alternatively you can just toggle the "info" view which just shows timestamps for every line received on the left. Look on the bottom right of mudlet for a blue "(i)" button.

Do those get included if you highlight and copy/paste, though? They aren't included in Mudlet produced logs, for example.
Also, did we lose the ability to edit comments as html on mobile? That was the only way I knew to get out of quote boxes.
No way to copy/paste them. What I use is a system time display in my prompt, but in black on black text, so it only shows up if I highlight it. I'm a huge fan of timestamps, but I'm also a huge fan of reducing text spam as much as possible.
Your main problem is that you are not tracking your afflictions, or showing your affliction combos in the log. You may also need to work on keeping the pressure from daegger hunt up. In our spar, you just let it fizzle after I shielded.
@Amranu - Yeah, I've only developed any kind of muscle memory for the standard paralysis prios. Learning to adapt when someone flips the script to something defensive is on the list and I will give affliction trackers a look.
@Taylsin - tbh, when it became clear that you weren't at all shy about using a hangedman tarot on your way to full puppet, I stopped worrying about it as a serious spar.
@Herenicus that's when you Hunt every time you can to force him to turtle.
That won't work. Apostate will never beat a jester that doesn't want to die. It just won't happen. As long as they have time for one curseward->hanged man combo, they can reset your momentum.
[2:41:24 AM] Kenway: I bet you smell like evergreen trees and you could wrestle boreal mammals but they'd rather just cuddle you
You don't really need an affliction tracker, just watch what they cure. If they eat goldenseal/plumbum after you deadeyes paralysis/impatience, then it's obvious what stuck. People tend to get into a button/alias mashing frenzy because fights give a pretty big adrenaline rush if you aren't experienced (this isn't an insult, it just happens to a lot of people). Getting an affliction tracker doesn't really help you other than superficially - but paying attention to what they cure on the fly increases your adaptability a lot. It's something that comes with practise.
Against Jesters, I don't really know anything viable to suggest, because they have innate permanent stalling mechanisms that absolutely destroy all but one or two momentum classes in the game. As an Apostate, the last thing I would suggest against Jesters is Hunt. It has no persistence or long-lasting effect against them as they are a prep class. They can just shield, fashion, fashion, fashion, shield, etc. Hunt is purely to be used against people that 1) have not figured out that shield stops hunt yet, or 2) if they're a momentum class and you want to play chicken with them.
Your best bet is to:
Always have bloodworms and gravehands up in as many rooms as is practical. If you want to go the affliction route, such as if you recognise a weakness in their curing, then drop a nightmare and stack like crazy. Impatience, Stupidity and Confusion will be your most effective afflictions to shut them down, as forced shield/secrets with confusion is a seriously long time to be thrown off eq in a fight, and bloodworm eq disrupt scales with confusion (it's like 6 seconds or so with confusion). Then do your typical stick asthma/impatience and do anorexia/paralysis if they get hit with slickness. You don't need many afflictions to lock a Jester, so any small amount of momentum you get while they get caught with slickness should mean they get locked.
Second strategy I'd suggest, IF sap goes through hangedman (you'll need to test that) is somewhat like the former except throwing out a Fiend instead of a NIghtmare. Then, using their priorities, you stack mental afflictions (this only works if they prioritise paralysis>impatience). When they hangedman you, switch over to sap. If you hit them with as many mental afflictions as you can, then stop and start sapping. They'll eat goldenseal and go through the motion of focusing over and over. If you have death aura up and they're bleeding due to haemophilia/fiend bleed, then you get the point.

@Herenicus Great strategy. I'm trying to be constructive here. You fell for confusion/force restore when you fought me. You can do better, and it wouldn't hurt to have a better attitude about combat more generally.
