My biggest mistake I think was not keeping track of my skullcap pipe. If I'd had rebounding instead of a standard shield I bet things would've gone a lot differently ,but obviously in the middle of a fight I can't stop and II and probe each pipe and yadda yadda.
Also I kind of derped and forgot exactly what to do once legs were prepped. Of course hindsight is 20/20 and I know I should've legslash/strike knee/impale'd.
Anyway, like I said, first "real" spar I've had; would anyone care to weigh in?

I have 150 Lusternian credits that I'll trade over for Achaean ones. Let me know if you're interested!
When dealing with a mounted opponent (and most other times, really), hamstring is very useful. They can't mount while it's active, and if you strike hamstring again before it wears off (9 seconds, iirc) the timer refreshes, so if you work it in every few combos, you can keep them permanently dismounted. Also, if you strike feet while they're dismounted, so it has no effect ("Crawling on your belly like a worm is hardly befitting behaviour. Your target is not mounted!"), you don't lose the balance, so you can trigger that line to immediately strike with something else; same goes for striking knees while they are mounted.
The basic idea is fairly straight forward. Firstly, set up your count so you're going to be as accurate as possible. You can find a few free scripts on these forums for blademaster limb counting that you may find useful, otherwise that will come mostly from experience.
When you achieve that, the basic (but very reliable) strategy is to strike hamstring, and then strike feet, and then strike hamstring every third or fourth attack to prevent them from remounting before hamstring wears off. As Eld mentioned, you cannot mount if you have the hamstring affliction. Then simply use the appropriate Twoarts ability before your strike in a combo to prep them. Raze when rebounding is up, Impale and Impaleslash if you knock them prone and they're still on the floor when you have balance. This will burn their mana down more quickly while also relieving pressure on you as they'll probably get more defensive at that point. When you have both legs setup, make sure they're not mounted and do a legslash/knees combo, impale, bladetwist until they writhe, impale, bladetwist x2, withdraw blade/sheathe/brokenstar = you win against 90% of people.
If your target is someone with the Robes of Magi or good active/passive mana regen then I'd suggest also breaking their torso before your legslash/knees breaking combo.
That's quite basic, but when you have that down you'll kill the majority of people at your skill level, and you'll be able to learn to adapt that strategy over time to different opponents. Transitioning into damage strategies, mangle locks, hard locks, salve locks, and so on.
How does one cure optimally against an occultist tracking affs? Also, why do they have access to controlled stupidity/paralysis via torc again? I can't make them lose momentum via proning leg breaks and entanglement.
The main issue I have is stupidity giving them so much cure delay when focusing is an issue. Should I focus with rixil and double my focusing balance?
They never lost torc, they just lost the ability to chain it with class balance attacks.
Totally fine really, it's no more OP than it is for any other aff class. Is quick-witted viable for new occie? If so, it'd be the only eq-based aff class, making torc quite a bit better for them than everyone else.
I know that the only time one should use rixil is with one physical aff left, so focusing gets rid of it and cadmus. When rixil is active and I can't focus without doubling my focusing balance, 1 second balance torc stupidity becomes an issue because the stupidity procs slow down my curing momentum too much. Not sure what the correct choice is here.
