I can understand light hearted roleplay. But last night was just insane. People took it way too far and when zapped to hell by, not only a divine, but our Patron.. they continued. Not only did they continue, but they actively started jesting at Him and His domain.
I've been off game since we were cleaning up Cyrene because my kids gave me that bug going around for mother's day... What on earth did I miss? Holy crap!
There's no real hope for Cyrene or its citizens, because most of them are lazy, uninspired people who only view Achaea as a chatroom. Their terrible leadership that wasn't even logged in for the event (except one) should have been emptied/abolished when the city was reclaimed.
Honestly I hate to say it but I somewhat agree. As for leaders logging in there was definitely more than just one (I am pretty sure there were 3 which still isn't much better when Verrucht takes two spots) and I liked having both Eril and Keorin there because it was like a real situation where the city was divided on what to do and it gave us the decision on who to follow. Even though there was an overwhelming majority leaning one way (attack) it was nice even having the choice (despite I missed actually getting a vote because 5yr old with sickness is no bueno). As for having not seen Verrucht but once during the event (about the time it started) has Erza wanting to see him gone now more than ever. A vacant leader is no leader in her opinion especially when they are needed the most. It would have mean't more seeing him on the front lines rather than appointing someone in his place or at least that's what it seemed like with Eril taking lead. Shout out to @Kaden for bringing in some form of deeper roleplay during this. It was nice being apart of that. It mean't a lot.
Briefly, a shouted exchange of puns between non-Cyrenians resulted in a few warning shots, then myself and one other Cyrenian got zorched when we chimed in.
Afterwards, our Patron instructed us on the importance of knowing when to call it quits, and introduced another person to the Eternal Sea. Said unfortunate perished twice, thanks to his starburst.
During all this, CT was getting rowdier and rowdier, and finally, after being called out on it, things settled down.
@Zbaco oh! Telendrieths post made it sound so much worse but for Cyrenian's to sass a Cyrenian Patron is still bad and out of character. People have lost their minds

I wouldn't really have called it "sassing", though it may have continued a bit longer than it should have.

Your children have awful taste in presents. Hope you get to feeling better soon.
Zbaco sort of summed it up. Pun shouting and then our Patron said to know when to stop and killed two citizens over it. Then CT just.. kept on.. and on. Citizens egging it on further and even taking the puns directly at the Patron.
Ongoing roleplay and events taking place in and around Cyrene is not a response to forum armchair speculation or outrage based on bad second-hand information just to be clear. Things are already going on and have been since the city was retaken.
I will remind everyone, we are about three days out from the last major event, so a lot of the criticism seems unfair and again, based on bad information. Everyone needs to eat a Snickers and calm down a bit.
At the end of the day, Cyrene will change for better or worse based on player decisions. Events that occurred during the occupation were highly influenced by the direction Cyrenians took, and it will continue to be that way. And how you as a player wish to react is your decision.
This also applies to all the other cities, and many were upset or elated by how things turned out for them based on mostly player decisions. Cyrene isn't bound by a different set of rules or extra scrutiny by admin or volunteers.

Actually, he made that point only after the two of us returned from being zapped. And I still maintain I should not have been zapped, as my pun was already halfway made when I noticed the first killing shot fired. Impossible to stop a good pun...or a bad one, for that matter

Thanks, I totally agree! Now if only I could make them take it back

Terrible idea. Then you'd get into a vicious cycle of regifting

More likely they've been working overtime without Mak and just now got around to putting the planned things in. Especially since without a predetermined outcome to the Sunday event, there's a really short time frame in which they could've written the new stuff.

I think you just replaced @Sartan as my favorite forums snarky-poster. This was amazing and could/should probably be reposted in almost every thread (and some of my own posts)
@Jiraishin That's possible, we'll never really know what goes on in the backend. But I do know from experience that they can often add things on the fly based on player reactions or interactions, or possibly the lack thereof in this case.
Also, Achaeans live very long lives, 3 Achaean months isn't very long at all in the scope of things and clean-up of a disaster without our kind of modern technology will go on for a very long time.
The impatience at which some people want to move on and go back to lightheartedness because that's what they joined the city for / paid money for is not only disrespectful to the dead (yes guards and other NPCs unseen or otherwise have to be considered 'real people' in an IC context if you actually want to RP) but frighteningly callous.
I go play with foster kittens for five minutes and miss a Sartan gif. My life is incomplete.

Its weird but as I was walking through Cyrene I kept getting a Burmecia feel from FF9 with the rain and destruction. All it needed was the haunting melody it played.
It reminds me of all the towns in Golden Sun: Dark Dawn after you accidentally cause the apocalypse. Covered in shadows and corpses. I can -hear- the haunting music.
