2016/06/09 03:16:46 - Aegoth, Cooper, Exxia, Helewys, Kiet, Leviticus, Proficy, and Saibel have
destroyed The ruins of Upon an arched bridge.
Also a rave to the specific members of Eleusis who cried OOCly about us raiding 3v1 and how we are being hypocritical via the forums, despite them having 29 people on visible QW ELEUSIS.
Also rave to the members of Eleusis who are crying about affliction tracking - I mind sapienced several members of Eleusis using (and spamming) 'oattack' in game aliases (that's AK aff tracking, for those who don't know). Good job!
So you had 7 good raiders and Kiet vs all Eleusis noncoms? I'm not sure what the point of this is?
To be honest, I got overly intoxicated last night and said those things in a way I normally wouldn't (at least in public). I'm sorry for that and I'll try to keep it more in check (@Rangor@Shirszae@Exelethril).
The win was real, though, and saying we had 7 good raiders (and Kiet) vs. all noncoms is kind of silly. You had several of the most active Eleusian fighters, and 29 people on visible QW that you could have called on for help!
I was AFK on my ship watching the horrible basketball game. So I was just guessing on the raiders knowing Austere, Penwize, Bleak, and Rangor weren't there.
Making agreements where you will turn defenders away and tell them ICly that 'we made an agreement and we have to stick to it even though they're in here trying to destroy our city' = not good.
When did this actually ever happen? I've not seen it the entire time I've been in Hashan, and I've defended every one that I've been awake for, which is all but like...4 or 5, cause I was sleeping. I think the closest I've seen, is me/Lala telling people to wait while we sorted strategy out, or when we were in the middle of combat already, and couldn't invite. I think everyone who's wanted to defend, has always been invited to party when we were -able- to. Just look at the other day when Kiet/Alrena/Kythra/Proficy came, and it was like 10 of us. Everyone got invited to party!
@valkyn Getting constantly bitched at by people who don't fight, about what I should do while leading a raid/defence, to the point I don't want to log in is "in trouble" to me.
I don't wanna weigh in on the above thing just because I don't know all of the exact exchanges and such, thus I'm not qualified to.
But that said, one thing I want to make clear: In general, you should never turn away defenders. That's not to say that's what happened here - I'm not sure if it did - but defending is something every citizen who wants to get involved should be absolutely encouraged to do, and no one should ever be turned away from. Not even to make a fight "fair". If people want a fair fight, they should have brought more, or did some skirmishing outside of the city. Defending your city is always wonderful, and should be praised.
Defend your cities. Bring us your twenty people on your cwho. We will try to plan for it, try to defend against it, and likely die against it. Bring them all, even the tiny newbie fresh from the newbie trial who wants to use their bashing attack and roar at evil attackers! Zerg rush us! Whatever y'all wanna do. Just never ever discourage people who want to defend, please. It's so disheartening.
Edit: Ugh, referencing outdated newbie trials. I've been playing too long.
And I love too Be still, my indelible friend That love soon might end You are unbreaking And be known in its aching Though quaking Shown in this shaking Though crazy Lately of my wasteland, baby That's just wasteland, baby
The person who told me you agreed to and turned someone away was you, in your message. I responded to it with a couple of messages which weren't in any way negative, just said I don't want to see that happening.
But this is raves, so raves that Hashan is getting good enough in defence that this is even an issue we have to consider!
Hashan has been great fun. My time to play has been super limited since I even started playing, so I haven't really had the chance to properly immerse myself. I've been lucky enough to participate in some of the raids/defenses lately and I really have to commend everyone leading for doing their best to a) be patient with people with very little experience and b) keep morale high regardless of the situation, even the spectacular failures.
Also kudos to @Ryzeth, @Kasa, @Regi and everyone else who has been willing to share ideas and tips to help someone like me who is an import to Achaea. I'm almost getting the hang of a few things and it's been great to be excited about that again.
I find the writing for the environment to be really high quality, I been playing for 2 weeks and really enjoy exploring Cyrene, hope the quality of other areas and cities are as good as Cyrene. The writing is so much better than the old mud I used to play ten years ago. Impressed!

Some really really old areas have some sketchy writing, but overall, yeah, the writing in Achaea is really good.
I got a present today, from @Halos that just about made my week. I am entirely aware that this isn't going to mean much to many, but it's awesome. Seriously. I love them so much!
Designed to be sent through the post, this small parcel has been wrapped in a coarse brown paper and bound with a strong twine. There are no markings on the outer wrapping of this parcel to betray the existence of any contents. It has 10 months of usefulness left. It weighs 5 ounce(s). A small parcel is holding: "leggings108250" a pair of grey leggings "tunic184380" a simple grey tunic
Raves to @Amami for an amazing story telling session at Crossroads in Hashan. It's was awesome to hear about the history of certain events and cities through the eyes of a person who actually lived them.
And a large number of soldiers would simply quit the army because of it. Leaving all combat to Mark, infamous, and dauntless and alienating even more players.
In Mhaldor's Colosseum Diabolus there are 4 areas each accessed by a mirror and a power word!
The main area every Mhaldorian fights at, and has been fighting at, by default regardless of starting room (and has been for like 10+ rl years) is the 'Letum area Courtyard room.
This has been a helpful reminder of the depths of the worlds you exist in!

That's because nobody can remember the names of all the other zones. >>

No one was turned away, they were told to wait.
This is raves though.
