I'm still plodding to dragon. So slow. I have gotten 100+ on every other IRE game (some of them more than once) but there's just something about Achaea bashing that makes me want to paint a target on my desk and bang my head against it repeatedly.
But some day I'll get there! Good on all you people who have already made it, whether it took you 500 IG years or 2 weeks.

Hey! I also have a "stress reduction kit" installed on my desk
Prospero is here, leisurely looking to strike a deal. He wields a cigar stub trailing out grey smoke in His left hand and the Sceptre of Unlimited Wealth in His right.
anyone remember praying costing 20% xp minimum at level 99 and level 100 being the max? I lost dragon like 50 times.
Thrud probably still had the record for most times losing dragon. 20% xp loss sounds ungodly, but old dragon could raid like 20 on 1. Ridiculous as any class, and back then raid xp was very viable. Just go old occie
Got some fun time in with people in Targ, been feeling really out of the loop since I came back so this was really nice. Also, a kind benefactor gave me enough credits to get up to Nairat in Runelore which was very, very nice and washed off some of the salt from pissing away my no brainer packages. A nice day all around, IC and OOC.
it was weird for me. Hunting was all I knew. So I was like OK! I MADE IT! IM DONE!
.... now what?
That's how it used to work: bash bash bash, do nothing but bash, 16 hour days, reach dragon in a few weeks. Then... disappear, because that one activity was the only thing you ever did and you didn't develop any connections or aspirations beyond that, so your only reason for logging in had vanished.
Back then it was not possible to gain experience beyond level 100 (plus whatever final amount of experience catapulted you over 100 - people would compete for exp rank #1 by getting as close as possible to 99.99% without going over, then trying to get the biggest single chunk of exp they could find). So you could keep killing stuff, but the exp treadmill really was over and done.

Still does that for some people.
- (Eleusis): Ellodin says, "The Fissure of Echoes is Sarathai's happy place." - With sharp, crackling tones, Kyrra tells you, "The ladies must love you immensely." - (Eleusian Ranger Techs): Savira says, "Most of the hard stuff seem to have this built in code like: If adventurer_hitting_me = "Sarathai" then send("terminate and selfdestruct")." - Makarios says, "Serve well and perish." - Xaden says, "Xaden confirmed scrub 2017."
I've got a friend who can bash to level 100 no matter which IRE game you put him in. And he literally did exactly that.
However, he never stayed for long in the current IRE I main in because he was mostly trying to see if the game's end-game content suited his tastes or not. He chose to stay with Aetolia in the end. Because the people he met there while bashing from 1 to 100 were nice to him and tried to roleplay with him.
These guys don't actively try reach out to the orgs they are in. If you guys see one. Try to interact with them as much as you can if you don't want them to disappear after they reach dragon. Give them a reason to stay because they have 4 other IRE games they can bash to end-game just as easily until someone in that community reaches out to them.
That is not an ordinary star, my son.
That star is the tear of a warrior. A lost soul who has finished his
battles somewhere on this planet. A pitiful soul who could not find his
way to the lofty realm where the great spirit awaits us all.
What @Lucianus said. Achaea was my home port, as it were. I have always come back to it for a dozen different reasons. But it's definitely, and unfortunately, NOT always because of the people or RP (or lack thereof). Each of the IRE games has its quirks, and problems, and perks. I was extremely on the fence about planting my "supernoob" in Aetolia, or Achaea. Were it not for two friends wanting to do Achaea, and my being outnumbered, I'd have gone back to Aetolia because I like their end game way more, and the RP is stellar.
Achaea's large player base is its biggest draw for me. But with a general QW list of 125+ on average, I do have to say I wish there was more RP and it didn't focus -quite- so much on PK.
We really have some amazing people. It's a shame to see people up and leave for another IRE game (even though it's supporting the overall company still) just because no one really gave someone the time of day. It's 2016! Achaea has been around forever. Doesn't that mean the RP should have aged like a fine wine and gotten better?
Psh @Aerek. It's like riding a bike! You never really forget, you just get lazy! (Seriously that's some bullshit though. First time I tried to ride a bike after like 10 years I was like wtf is going ooooon and wobbling all over the place. It was sad for about five minutes.)
Nah it was definitely overall way worse. There's always been pockets of good roleplay but back then we had city leaders begging through tears for people to stop using smilies and LOL on city channels.

I'd say about 1000 of those denizen deaths are guards.
Had an hour or two of fun exploring the quests in an area and trying things out on my own. Forgot how fun that used to be. Celanis and demigods, the work you do to make things unique really is appreciated.

If only. Good roleplay is like a set of washboard abs, it disappears when you stop working it out.
I.. um. Does this mean that Aerek has no abs anymore? (I'm sorry, I am really struggling with this one, honest.)
