    not a high level basher here, but cleared Taryen in like 6 min at level 86 by getting some one off WSC's and the top floor was done. 100% to dead is so nice.

    This. Loved bashing as a runie to dragon. When you get a crit string that demolishes a room quickly it feels great

    I got dragon in the late 30s and I can honestly say that itself doesn't make me envy or feel competitive with sub 30 year old dragons. I feel sorry for their brains now that they have officially gone into bash mania mode. That's one side of the game that very few are going to want to challenge and actually enjoy it!

    I'm only Dragon because when it came out it was like be Dragon or no PvP... Now I'm like... Unable to kill anyone anyways so it hardly matters

    While I genuinely believe you,

    making dragon at 24 had me bashing for 8 hours a day  for a solid month on my first character, so no elite build up. Even with it, that's still a lot of hours.

    The point: don't race it unless you REALLY want to. I was so burned out and done with the game for a while after

    A solid month of 8 hour a day bashing might have moved you from 90 to 95 back in the early days of dragon, if you were heavily artied. Dragon is at least 5 times faster to obtain than it used to be, and I'd risk saying 10 times faster than when it was introduced IF you spend the credits/gold to do it "speed run" style.

    Stacking IRE bonuses + artefacts + rare minerals + runes = much easier.

    Speaking of xp bonuses... when are we going to get a greathunt? I'm tired of not having any of the caves.

    This. You also had to fight off others for what few hunting areas existed, and you lost so much for a truedeath that you never risked biting more than you could chew.

    Yeah, fighting others for bashing areas was included in my estimate, along with more areas = less down time.

    That was time played, not time that passed.

    16 days. Also had a fair chunk of arties.

    I think the sooner you take care of getting dragon (if it's something you want), the better... because then it's out of the way. However, not everyone is going to want to bash as fast as some of the super young dragons did. At that point I always recommend to people who ask for advice that reasonable daily goals is necessary, and so is consistency. It all adds up. Even for some people who don't get dragon until they're like 200+, they still made some progress over time that was adding up.. whereas there's people who literally sit around and do nothing but complain how hard it is without realizing that even an hour of their time is better than nothing.
    What doesn't kill you gives you exp.

    I always advise people against rushing through all that hunting at once, mostly because I worry they will burn out since hunting, specially for extended periods, is so freaking boring  :s

    And you won't understand the cause of your grief...
