Subject: Artefact additions

We're pleased to announce the release of some great new artefacts! Here's the additions:

Bracers of Flame: 1000cr

   Grants the wielder the ability to FIRELASH and cast FIREWALLS.

Prismatic ring: 600cr

   Imbued with all resistance enchantments (Cold, Magic, Fire, and Electical) on one ring. 

Enchantments will never fade from this item.

Portable anvil: 800cr

   Grants the owner the ability to PLACE ANVIL, dropping a functional anvil in the room for one 

achaean day (1 hour).

Box of Stasis: 750cr

   This container prevents the decay of almost all items held inside it. It will hold five items at 

any one time. Stasis effect may not apply to some special items or decaying talismans.

Silver whistle: 500cr

   Allows you to REQUEST LETTERs and POST mail from anywhere. Additionally, this item may be 

upgraded with a customised mail delivery message for an additional fee. Email customisations@achaea.

com for further information.

Gem of Rapid Transmutation: 2000cr

   An upgrade of the Gem of Transmutation, offering the same benefits but with a much shorter 

cooldown. Can be used once every 2 Achaean days (2 hours).

Grimoire of Hasty Adaptation: 2000cr

   Also an upgrade of it's regular sibling, offering the same benefits of the Grimoire of Adaptation 

with a shorter cooldown. Can be used once every 2 Achaean days (2 hours).

Skull Pendants:

   These artefacts increase the duration of a Shaman's SWIFTCURSE ability.

   

   Obsidian skull pendant:  350cr ( 15% increased duration)

   Amethyst skull pendant:  800cr ( 25% increased duration)

   Sapphire skull pendant: 1600cr ( 35% increased duration)

All of these artefacts are now available for purchase through Merentesh's shops in Delos.

Bracers of flame way overpriced compared to the bracers of frost.  Mainly a convenience item, bracers of frost add 3 very valuable skills otherwise unavailable to most classes (freeze, freeze ground and deepfreeze).

Also @Cooper that's exactly what I thought of re: box of stasis. And the upgraded gem is crazy. I wish I had more credits arwarwarwar.

Should clarify, weapons and armour are on the list of things that don't get nondecayed in the box.

Its those/talismans/things that will decay in stockrooms.

It's always interesting to see people react way differently than I would to new additions. I would have considered the whistle the most useless and pointless artefact ever invented.

Sometimes, artefacts that add flavor and convenience can beat normal objections like like mechanical(combat) advantage and cost-time efficiency factors.

God yes prismatic ring. Though the number of ring artefacts I have is pretty annoying; thank god wearing gauntlets hides them.

I assume you can wear both artefact bracers at the same time? May pick those up at some point so I don't have to worry about enchants.

Curious pricing between the Box of Stasis and the Bracers of Flame. The former sounds incredibly powerful, while being quite affordable, while the latter is just ridiculously expensive for what it does. That's worth maybe 100 - 200 cr.

Cool set of additions though!

Yeah, the pricing on the bracers confused me once I saw what it actually did. You get four permanent enchantments from the prismatic ring for 600 credits, which seems like a reasonable price. Applying that to the bracers, they should be 300 max - 150 credits per permanent enchantment.

It seems to me as if they just presented these bracers as some kind of opposite of the Bracers of Frost, so they just went ahead and gave it the same price - neglecting the fact that the Bracers of Frost also do things that are otherwise class-specific and can't be bought as an enchantment.

A smattering of clouds fills the sky, lacing it with spiderwebs of grey. A rune shaped like a butterfly has been 

sketched into the ground here (nairat: transfix). A rune like an open eye has been sketched into the ground here (wunjo: 

cure blind). Mounted atop a woodland bear, a forest archer keenly scans the sprawling canopy. Elias the Gatekeeper is 

here, standing watch. A runic totem is planted solidly in the ground. A large oak tree stands here, a silent reminder of 

a legend. A sigil in the shape of a small, rectangular monolith is on the ground. There are 2 woodland rangers here. A 

Briar Knight casts a cool gaze over the village. With silent vigil, a gnarled treekin roots to the ground. An ornately 

carved cairn stone dominates the area. A magnificent sign has been placed carefully in the ground here, bearing a 

proclamation. Resting on the ground is a cube-shaped silver sigil. An heraldic pennon flies here, bearing the city arms 

of Eleusis. Scuffing its hooves on the ground nervously, a striped zebra glances at you. A pike with the decapitated 

head of Enfrin, the woodcutter of Thera has been erected. A fierce tiger prowls restlessly nearby. A steel-plated chest 

with a lining of white velvet is here. A stone bench is here. A wooden stool is here.

You see exits leading north and up.

Briefly closing his eyes, Elias the Gatekeeper bows his head reverently before you.

Elias the Gatekeeper says, "Ah, Leath-ri Rangor. May your council continue to serve the village well."

Essentially a spiked pole, someone has placed the head of the Enfrin, the woodcutter of Thera on top of this pike. The 

head is decaying quickly, and the eyes are already gone, likely devoured by flies.

It weighs about 4 pounds and 6 ounce(s).

It bears the distinctive mark of Metzger.
