This is like going to your local mayor and asking them to run a poll constantly on the county/city/local decisions being made. Nothing would get done. I for one welcome the go-getter attitude they took to keep us involved in an event and keep some sort of narrative, even if it isnt' want some of us want, so we actually stay relevant and do not become stale as a city.
The jealousy seething from my pores is almost tangible.
1. Don't submit your medallions to be non-decay/resetting at this time. (We won't dust them out from under you without notice.) Yes, these are intended to be pickpocketable, information gathering is a key part of conflict strategem.
2. This has been building for Achaean centuries, while less subtle motions began publicly in February of this year. Not all antagonists in Achaea are Kortoxian cape-swirlers or Maklakian loudmouths, and subtlety is key to certain plans making it all the way to fruition.
3. In a broader scope, clear cut events with thickly drawn lines of good and bad add little of substance to the life of Achaea's lore. The various shades of grey craft interesting pressures and dilemmas which allow for challenging and compelling character growth and create a much more fluid experience where you can have direct impact and have a say (to varying extents) in how the stories play out.
I;m kind of... meh about this event I am afraid. I can see it is pretty cool and a lot of hard work has gone into it.. but it seems kind of rushed from a player point of view, and Ashtan's leaders have been very secretive about what is happening, what we get out of this, and why we want to help in an underworld war anyway. 'Daimon said we had to' is such a cop out and it bugs me to see it being used, either by admin or player leadership to force a city to take part in something without any information about why
@Nicola@Makarios I think that the requirements having both really high number requirements and having overlap between factions needing them will lead to some pretty intense extended camping that isn't particularly fun for any side. Is there any way the requirements could be reworked a little bit? I feel like the best way to do the event requirements is to be griefy and monopolize the stuff, which isn't fun for other people involved.
Of course. My problem is that the current setup simply has the potential to get really unenjoyable really fast, depending on how badly people want to win. It's an event, it should be enjoyable. When there are so few ways to progress on such slow timers, things are going to get highly competitive and that could get pretty griefy, that's all.
Oh. I might be misinformed, there might not be competition for the spawns. Nevermind!
Technically, there isn't. It's just that two Factions can sabotage the other by gathering the items the other needs. That in itself is annoying enough, so I can only hope the "sabotage" itself isn't too harsh. Wasn't much hope for team Bella to begin with! Going around snatching up berries isn't that exciting to begin with, let alone when every bush is camped out by people who don't even really need them. I get that's technically a way to prevent your opponent from getting it, it's just not very fun.

Earlier I couldn't gather certain items. Did that change?
A few misconceptions going around regarding Hashan and the decision we made in here.
I've honestly heard from exactly one person any form of complaint. I'd explain more, but I've got to work for money.
(No, not that kind of work)
That isnt entirely true. You have to take into consideration that most didnt even know something was going on. Heck the only reason i personally even knew shit was up was because i was standing in the room with kasa when he got 6 letters out of no where and later a cyrenian was asking me if hashan made a decision.
You better believe that RP wise i would be annoyed that a decision to take the city to war is being done behind closed doors, and the citizens would have to just throw their lives away without even the slightest reasoning as to why. No wait...the mob to discuss the pact appeared at crossroads to discuss it and thus the citizens were now involved and informed..
The hashan log was simply " we made a pact with x and y. Prepare for battle!". The heck? Did i join mhaldor while drunk? How many citizens literally said "the heck is going on...is there a post" after all the world drama? We literally asked for just 1 post for transparency...and were told to accept whatever decision the council comes to. When i said i would rather not involve myself in this random war, it was insinuated that i am useless, which seems to be a fad going around at nonfighters in hashan lately..
Yes you are elected to represent the city as a whole by mitigating decisions and responsibilities. However you are not there to exclude the players from what is going on, only handle it. This seems to have been lost in communication and it is slowly becoming more akin to a dictatorial regime.
Decisions of war fall purely under the jurisdiction of the Seneschal, advised by the Regents. Pretty sure that's in the Canon.
To the bolded: incorrect. We explicitly said that we'd make a news post to cover as much as we could, when we knew more. But you wanted info now.

@Alrena I couldn't get a straight answer if we needed the plants for the portal or not. It seems like the requirements vary greatly in difficulty/time requirements, too.
@Tesha seemed clear cut to me! Sabotage = mess with the other guy's portal, not build your own! But yes, the requirements seem to vary wildly. Looks like I can't do much except hope that sabotage isn't too harsh and wait till Targ is done camping the berries to finish that portal.
So, I have some questions regarding the event. I've pledged my allegiance to one of the factions, but my medallion decayed? Also, what exactly am I supposed to be doing to support the faction? I've heard others mention a tell that was sent when the medallions were received, but I don't recall that. I'm just rather confused about the whole deal.
The medallions for those belonging to the Gerzson/Kemnast faction were decayed in error. Greeting the Death Knight representative again should provide a replacement medallion.
The underworld skirmishing was really fun. The hunting portions were like my worst achaean nightmare.
Commission List: Aesi, Kenway, Shimi, Kythra, Trey, Sholen .... 5/5 CLOSED I will not draw them in the order that they are requested... rather in the order that I get inspiration/artist block.

Makes sense that you have to have a clear majority/superiority.
