Look Nat and I found it funny at the time! Also, this was in South Bank markets that happen every weekend here.

I really just went to play on a lark, because a friend only gained some idea of the way things are last week. He knew I played, but he went to work at my old university and got into a conversation with someone about piano because the person was moving keyboards. My name apparently became a conversation topic, since I used to perform there a little bit, so I ended up showing my buddy some older videos of performances and competitions past.
So today, I was raiding Mhaldor and he texts me to ask "wanna play piano?" "where?" "downtown somewhere" "ok sounds good." Ten minutes later, we're off. Better believe I would have dressed up, had I known. God, what an experience!
And as he slept he dreamed a dream, and this was his dream.

I was going to spare you guys, but I noticed a few other Devil Dogs and servicemen had some pics up, so here goes. I don't really take the initiative to actually get into pictures, so I had to dig around. You guys mentioned medals earlier; I have a CAR, and that's all that concerns me.
Me, my grandfather and my uncle, someone snuck this one in at a family reunion.
My boys, the best damn warfighters of all time. Wouldn't be here without'em. And those two pesky ANA, the only two in the 'stan who aren't working for the enemy. Usually. This was right by the exit of the PB, so ignore the lack of helmets. We were hot, and 6 months in.
Warfighting at its finest
Because I love going fast, but gotta be semi-safe. If you don't ride, give it a shot. My 2012 BMW S1000rr, she's my baby. I'm in the foreground, in the smoke B-)
Stepping off on a patrol.
Anyways, The deployment pics are from 2011, I got out in late 2013, and I'm now in my first year of college, in the application process for a local sheriff's office. Played Achaea when I was much younger, it's good to be back and be able to rally appreciate it for what it is, and good to see so many of the people that were such enigmas to me back then are still around. Anyways, enough reminiscing, ^ That's Alaskar, and my real name is Jeff. Good to be back.
Pfft, show me a talib that can shoot, and I'll show you a grunt who gives a damn. There's a wall behind the guy taking the pic though, so we were -semi- safe
2/8, Fox Co. I'm an 03, we were in Marjeh, Southern Helmand, Jan-Aug 2011, if you're part of any CASEVAC agency, CAS, or CH 53/MV-22 squads, good chance you were supporting us. We used air like a 50 cent prostitute.
MV-22, was with VMM264. Callsign was Sunset (so gay). Didn't do a lot of CASEVAC or anything, and rarely got to do anything other than emergency resupplies and patrol support.
Never heard that particular call sign, but we did do quite a few helicopter insertions (and osprey) so it's likely. Always a joy though. Heh, and here I've been thinking I was the only devil dog in Achaea. Still, not too many of us, right?

Sadly, they're hell bent on making the services more and more similar, and have been steadily working towards that for at least 10 years (probably more, I'm old and my sense of time is warped). I'm not convinced it's for the best.
Heh, I don't think we should derail this thread on that subject, so I wont comment on it.
Anywho, good to know I wasn't the only military member who can do something other than grunt and scratch their ass. Thank you guys for your service, or continued service and

The beard is making a slow but steady comeback after being singed to pieces.

One of the symptoms of an approaching nervous breakdown is the belief that one's work is terribly important

Edit: Went to Marjeh a lot though.
We used to have a clan, actually. Caelan ran it, but he went mostly inactive so I forgot the people we had in there.
