    Doing full-time research for my dad's company with only a minor in Chemistry(math major) is super tough and involves a ton of reading/learning but on the bright side, it's an interesting field and keeps me busy this summer and pays almost on par with a co-op job.

    I just had my yearly performance review and not only getting a pretty good one from my manager, he also, in writing on the review, backed up the points I put down under the "Has anything hindered your performance" section about another department deciding not to follow the timelines that are in place to make sure projects run smoothly.  It's good to know that my manager actually has my back when I raise these concerns, that he trusts my judgement about these things.

    We had them in Ohio back when I was 14. I had a small chuckle about it.

    I usually hit thrift shops like Goodwill in the weekends for a quick look if they have something interesting for sale. I saw this laser printer on sale there for $18, and brought it home. It works like a charm! Even the toner and drum are at impressively intact condition. It prints way faster and way quieter! Best purchase for months!

    7.15 am. Wake up. Proceed to have breakfast ect ect without waking family.
    7.50 am. Leave house to walk to dojo, a local school.
    8.10am. Arrive at dojo to find someone had a party in there after we left yesterday. Clean up.
    8.40am. Find changing rooms are locked. Go find guy to unlock them. 
    9.15am. Scheduled start time for examination.
    9.25am. Actual start time for examinations.
    2.30pm. Scheduled finish time for examinations.
    3.45pm. Actual finish time for presentations. Walk home.
    4.15pm. Proceed to collapse at computer with food.

    145 passes, 3 deferrals, no outright failures. Successful grading is successful, and I'm £20 the better off for it. :D

    Apparently, 'valuable' to them is not 'your awesome work here is very much appreciated, and you deserve the appropriate recompense', but more of 'do more work for the same pay so the company nets a bigger profit, never mind that it burns out our employees'.
