Nearly got hit - three times - while driving home from work today. Once the car next to me just suddenly decided to swerve into my lane, another time a car had parked too far out into the road, I had to drive around it and an oncoming motorcycle almost hit me, and the last time...I don't quite remember, I think it was the same thing.
I guess this is a rave because I got home in one piece! (not going to say didn't get hit or I'll jinx it probably)

Today I met the students I was supposed to meet to give them a dressing down I didn't want to give but knew I had to give. After sleepless nights, angsting, second-guessing, I managed to get my point across without anyone being crushed, demoralised and without having to raise my voice. Of course I have pretty good students and I'm very proud of them, but smart and creative sorts can also be very naughty -- this makes it even harder when one has to dish a dressing down. So, this is a rave because no one left my office miserable, I didn't raise my voice, but the message got across and our creative project is headed in the right direction again (I hope!). Maybe this means I get to sleep tonight.
I hope it gets to a point when I won't be so miserable every time I have to tell students off because I've been at this teaching gig since 2004 and I'm still the lecturer who hates to scold students.
What the fuck Carmain I thought you were an IT guy or something holy shit

I am an IT guy, for health practices. Prisons have medical facilities too!
Used to have a friend who worked the old infirmaries in prisons. No kidding she came out in a worse state than the actual attendees after 6 years.

So tonight after work I was invited to an event dubbed Geek Night, at a local bar/restaurant(oh gods, over a hundred different types of beers). Anyway, I get off work at 11, apparently they start at 8 playing some board games and other stuff. DnD starts at 10, and it's my first time playing. It was pretty awesome, and I enjoyed it a lot.
Also, quality alcohol. Poured a shot of Bushmills into my Guiness.......bearded bliss.
I recently got my set of Flavorstone pots and was dying to try them out, so I made a delicious Japanese curry. Rave 1 for the curry turning out wonderful, if I do say so myself. Rave 2 for not having to stand around for half an hour scrubbing to get the pot clean. :x

@Kresslack what have you done to Bushmills? You should be visited by atrocity for mixing good irish whiskey. Pour something cheap into your Guiness.
The sweltering heat of the forge spills out across the land as the rumbling voice of Phaestus booms, "I want you to know, the Garden reaction to that one is: What?" The voice of Melantha, Goddess of the Seasons, echoes amid the rustle of leaves, "That's the censored version."
Australian Consumer laws. Laws that... actually have a direct and useful benefit! I bought a mouse - unpacked it, instantly disliked it. Buttons didn't click right, mouse didn't work well.
Went back to the store the next day, returned the mouse, got 100% of my money back - on questions, no haggling, no restocking fees, no BS. Because it's the law, and it's amazing.

I have to admit, I rather like those laws.

My mum decided on a whim to buy blue marlin steak meat. This was our first time to ever cook something using this since this is expensive stuff.
I looked up some recipes for pan-fried marlin steak that didn't use too much ingredients(Lenten season, stores were closed).
Found one site with the recipe we wanted.
Problem was that lemon was needed, but markets are closed.
Made do with calamansi.
End result was wonderful as hell.
Also, we prepared salad. Turns out that the sweetness of pineapple and thousand-island dressing was capable of counteracting the tangy aftertaste of the steak.
Four days off in a rowwwww!!! I have NEVER had the Easter break off from any job before in my life so this will be a whole new world for me I'm usually working 13h shifts for 15 days straight before, during and after the Easter run. Sleeping in will be a dream.

In what other country did you not experience that? I usually test mouse, keyboards and all other stuff I can test before buying. I've returned other items too without any trouble.
Bleh, work ate my gaming life. 내가 제일 잘 나가!!!111!!1
Canada, and US as well I reckon - you can't return things on a whim, or they'll charge you a restocking fee, or they'll only refund you in store credit, and so on. Generally, expect a bad experience.
My buddy's bachelor party is saturday, and I get out of work at 7pm. To top it off? I have the next TWO days off after it! EFF YEAH! I'm gettin' him and I hammered then sleeping off the major hangover that will be sure to follow...
