My mother randomly found a three pack of Lip Smacker lip balms in Fanta flavours. Orange, Strawberry and Grape. The scent is just like smelling the drinks.
Double rave for the grape, as I've only ever had that in Japan and it brings back fond memories.

Cooking is so fun. Cooking is so fun. Now its time to take a break and see what we have done. Yay! its ready!
Oh hell now I have that anime in my head and keep imagining the removable pig tails!
"Faded away like the stars in the morning, Losing their light in the glorious sun, Thus would we pass from this earth and its toiling, Only remembered for what we have done."
So much about which to rave over the past few days. First of all, my bedroom window - specifically, my bedroom window's extreme proximity to a tree which houses a host of sparrows, a pair of magpies, and provides a temporary resting place for a number of other transient birds. Of course, the fact that the window has no screen can lead to some interesting situations. I left my window open yesterday night, for example, and a raven (these are HUGE birds, btw; much bigger than the crows we used to get in my tree back home) flew down and peered into my bedroom for like ten minutes. He looked like he wanted to enter, but thought better of it. Either @Babel was paying me a visit, someone was sending me a message from Westeros, or I'm being haunted by Edgar Allan Poe. Either way, it's awesome.
Secondly, I went to the Oregon coast over the weekend. The reason was sombre - the death of one of my mom's uncles - but my friends had just happened to rent a beach house in Rockaway Beach, which was only fifteen miles from where the funeral was held. My mom went home immediately following the funeral, and I went to crash in the loft of this amazing property. It was both huge, and so nice I'm surprised they'd let people like us rent it. Granite countertops, floor-to-ceiling windows, a massive wrap-around deck, the sand right up to the front door, a fire pit, and amazing views of both the ocean in front of us, and the mountains behind us. One of the first things we did when I arrived was take a six-mile walk on the beach. The weather was gorgeous - sunny and nearly sixty, which is a miracle in that part of the country. I joined them for crab-fishing later in the day, until I grew tired of watching them torture crustaceans and had them drop me off on this little island out in the bay. I was the only human out there for well over an hour, so I got to watch sea birds, hermit crabs, and a pod of seals on the beach. The seals, it seems, were fairly used to humans, because they would come within fifteen feet of where I sat, and kept swimming around close to shore, peering at me. They were adorable - especially the two babies - but I had the feeling that trying to pet them would probably end poorly.
When my friend's husbands returned with the boat to get me, the tide was going out...and they beached the boat. I'd been trying to avoid getting in the water - anyone who has spoken to me OOC will know that I have a mild fear of the ocean, specifically shark attack and tentacle rape, and that I had never, before this weekend, touched or even been within sight of a body of salt water that wasn't Puget Sound. Unfortunately, they were unable to push it out of the sand on their own, so I was forced to get in the water and help (all the way up to my waist; the guys were so tall that they barely got their hips wet). I did not, however, get sexually assaulted by a cephalopod, nor did Jaws snap off a buttcheek, so I suppose, aside from the cold (and it actually wasn't all that cold) it wasn't too bad.
The next few days were a blur of beachcombing, drinking, skimboarding, drinking, bonfires, drinking, clam-digging (I watched, rather than participated.), drinking, wine-tasting and additional drinking (at this place that also had an animal petting zoo; I thought I had died and gone to heaven), eating my friends' incredible cooking - they were always kind enough to make vegetarian things for me, in addition to their meals for themselves - and more drinking. Even the trip home was fun. The van they had taken down to the coast seated fourteen, and all of the back seats folded down, so we spent most of what ended up being a ten-hour ride playing cards, watching movies, and doing certain things that are only legal in Washington and Colorado. We stopped in Seaside, Oregon, for cheap saltwater taffy, and one last sprint on a beach with my friends' dogs. We then headed north and hit Astoria, where we had lunch in a pub that apparently had the best seafood my friends had ever tasted. I had an exceptionally good vegetarian sandwich. We stopped to see some old friends - hipsters who took the whole urban homesteading thing a bit too far and decided to become farmers in a backwater called Skamokawa (scam-ock-oh-way, apparently. I had no idea this place existed before). Their house is gorgeous, though - their doors are all hand-carved! - and the landscape is this incredible, brilliant green. If it weren't for all of the pine trees, you'd think you were in Ireland. Best of all, SO MANY ANIMALS. OMG. Chickens, geese, ducks, sheep, cows, horses, and a big, friendly border collie mix called Luna. Luna and I got along splendidly.
We came close to Seattle going home, but unfortunately didn't have time to stop and see my sister. We did cross Snoqualmie Pass, however, so I got to see the big, craggy, snow-capped Cascades that I love so much. The rest of the ride home was uneventful - it was too dark, by the time we left the rest stop at Indian John Hill, to see much more of the mountains or the gorgeous Columbia River Gorge.
I even came home to good news - they found my puppy while I was gone! It turned out Stilts had taken refuge in a car lot only a few blocks away from my mom's house. My brother spotted her first, on complete accident, and although she was glad to see him and let him pet her, he couldn't get her into the car. My mom tried, next, but no luck. Finally, my mom took my significant other over there, and Stilts jumped right into the van, overjoyed to see a face with which she had recently shared a residence. She is now safely back in my mom's house, and I'm going to go see her - and cuddle the hell out of her - as soon as my final in English is finished on Wednesday. I just hope she isn't too angry with me for leaving her.
All in all, a good week. I don't even mind failing my Biology class - it will be a financial strain, later on, when I have to make it up, but this quarter has been a disaster, and I'll be glad to start fresh in April.
My avatar is an image created by this very talented gentleman, of whose work I am extremely jealous. It was not originally a picture of Amunet, but it certainly looks a great deal like how I envision her!
Glad to hear things are finally going your way, @Amunet - especially finding your puppy. You deserved some good fortune.

So pretty much second worst week of my life ended with my truck breaking down in the middle of the night when no cars are on the road.
How is that a rave?
After pushing my truck for 3 blocks (*Flex*), two people showed up out of nowhere (I did say the middle of the night), finished helping me push my truck up into an abandoned parking lot, tried to fix it (they were mechanics) and when they couldn't they gave me a ride home and even offered me their weed.
It was really nice to a bit of good in humanity again.
I will quietly mention the part where even though I left a note in my car, the property manager then promptly had my truck towed which ended up costing me $350 to get it back (what with it being towed an hour away and you know... not drive-able. Gah.).
Cottage pie for lunch and just ordered me a new iPod nano in a much nicer shade of purple than my old one.
Probably take me several months to replace most of my music but eh. Something to look forward to every week once my pay clears.

Bad man is in prison as of today and marks the end of a terrifyingly horrible chapter of my life. Best of all, now that there is a sense of finality, I feel like I can actually talk about it with people and not feel completely embarrassed or like I'm being judged. There are a few here who know what happened, but if you're curious, send me a PM and I'll give you the SparkNotes version.
Also: I have another little forum star.
I am retired and log into the forums maybe once every 2 months. It was a good 20 years, live your best lives, friends.
:O My music! It has returned to me! All 1800 songs of it!
These tears are tears of joy. So much joy that I don't need to replace everything and I'm still getting a shiny new iPod anyways.

Having money in both my checking and savings, and being able to go to the grocery store and not give two fucks about how much it is because I know I can cover it is one of the most liberating feelings in the world. On top of that, I'm eating healthy and more than once a day, and in four weeks I've dropped approximately twenty pounds. Life is pretty awesome, even if I'm practically a ghost in-game. I'll be back when overtime is unavailable, guys!
There is a Honey Badger (vs Cobra) polo tournament at my old club in Cali this summer, and I can probably make it out there when they're holding it. I hope that this means every time someone scores you get to say "Thanks stupid"!
