    I'm forever amazed at the quality and breadth of the player base here. Been having a bit of a hard time and being around so many awesome people makes me feel better. Thanks everyone.

    Edit: Yes it's mushy, I'm sure I'll be embarrassed about it later.

    Context: They test the alarms at ~11am on a Tuesday, and we normally miss it because of lectures. Got home a little early today.

    I suppose to make up for my crappy day yesterday, fate (...or aesop) decided to be nice today. Technology class - I get to spend the whole day watching various grades play educational games online, while I sit at the head of the room on my own computer.

    Semi-rant - 6th period is going to be 20-25 first graders. On computers. Who can barely spell their own names. That's frightening.

    Still, yay for computers all day!

    Thankfully the New Zealand Government is heading in the same direction. What blows my mind is that people think it matters at all.

    Now if they wanted to legislate so that you can only have gay marriage, then I would understand their complaints.

    Also, in honour of Carmain, I am going to bake a sponge cake this weekend for fun. Another thing I have not tried to bake yet. I found a really good-looking from-scratch recipe, and I think I'll use some cream cheese icing with it. Here's to hoping for deliciousness!

    Viewing two apartments tomorrow afternoon. One has heat and utilities paid, but the neighbor looks like a pedophile. The other is a nice place with college-age tenants, but it's $25 a month more, and heat isn't paid, so it would end up being closer to $100 more. Decisions, decisions.

    They look like creeps and give off "Get the - away from me" vibes.

    Used to be a pedo that would ride the public buses during school times, when kids would be on their way to or from school. He never actually did more than be there but I could never stand being in the same vicinity as him. If I saw him get on a bus that I needed as well, I'd wait 15 minutes for the next one to come along.

    Having heating and utilities paid will save a lot over the long run.

    @Iocun, when I drove up, this guy was wearing jeans too tight for his gut, suspenders, and thick glasses. He probably hadn't bathed in a week, and he was sitting out on the porch leering at some kids playing in the yard of the apartment across the street, haha. It was creepy. Still, the price was right, and I'm a little too old for any kiddie fiddlers to target me, so if it turns out I can't afford the nicer place, then this one will do.

    I just got an e-mail back on an apartment I inquired about a month ago, too. They just had another opening in their complex, and utilities, electric, -and- premium cable are all paid for. It's a little pricier than the others, but not outside of my price range, so we'll see how that goes. I'm viewing that one on Thursday.
