ETA: Or do you cut them into chips or wedges first? That makes more sense.

Fried potatoes generally boils down to either slices, diced, or sometimes shreds (shredded potatoes are usually hash browns though).

Obviously I do not fry potatoes whole. :P

I can't tell if @Trey is trolling me, @Katzchen, or both of us. But no, two of four things being fried isn't that common with us either, but it reminds me of home because my mother often fried something as a treat when I was growing up. Call it fattening and whatever, it's just how it was, and it always brings back good memories. Plus southern.

So in all it's glorious caramel-y goodness, my first pineapple upside down cake from scratch:

Anyway, no, I did not bake it on that pan, that's just the only thing we could find to put it on - no plate/dish big enough. If you are wondering about the missing cherry near the bottom-left, we're not quite sure what happened to it. I imagine it disappeared into the void that is the cake.

I'm never quite sure about the English term "fry". When used in the context above, are you talking about immersing something in great quantities of very hot oil, or simply roasting with some fat in a pan?

I have the feeling that it's the former, as doing the latter to multiple things in a single meal seems entirely normal to me.

Former for the chicken, latter for the potatoes. I, at least, tend to use 'fry' interchangeably to mean deep frying, pan roasting or sautéing.

After a very long and exhaustive few months (Working retail this time of year is not that much fun) I finally have two weeks off on Holidays.

I'm also going to see Man United play the Aussie All-Star team in July and managed to get 3 weeks off then as well.

When I checked the amount of holidays I have after this are taken I will still 300+ hours.

New computer screen which is bigger than... I don't know. Went from a 19" square monitor to a 24" widescreen. Related rant: This is going to take me ages to get used to, but rave: I have way more room in mudlet to add things other than my chat capture box/map.

Large displays with giant resolutions ftw. I have a 22in wide and a 27in wide, the latter becoming mine when someone impulse bought a 42".

Cannot imagine trying to play on a 42" screen... that would be insane.

ETA: Mine was also free, so yay. Friend of my partner's upgraded, and gave us his old one. Works fine, it's bulky for a flat screen, but my desk is massive, and I don't cart my computer around, so no worries there.
