    You... fry potatoes? :/

ETA: Or do you cut them into chips or wedges first? That makes more sense.

Fried potatoes generally boils down to either slices, diced, or sometimes shreds (shredded potatoes are usually hash browns though).

Obviously I do not fry potatoes whole. :P

Ah. Frying food at home is really uncommon here.

  • @Trey yes, a whole meal of fried food sounds kind of gross.

I've worked absurd hours over the holidays (not had a day off since Christmas).

This has culminated in a crapload of overtime and fantastical paychecks, which culminated in me getting to buy this:

I'm never quite sure about the English term "fry". When used in the context above, are you talking about immersing something in great quantities of very hot oil, or simply roasting with some fat in a pan?

I have the feeling that it's the former, as doing the latter to multiple things in a single meal seems entirely normal to me.
  • @Tagg: Calvin & Hobbes, the bane of my free time in grade school. Good work, sir - nostalgic comic is nostalgic.

Former for the chicken, latter for the potatoes. I, at least, tend to use 'fry' interchangeably to mean deep frying, pan roasting or sautéing.

  • FIRST PHONE INTERVIEW WITH THE BANK OF MONTREAL, YES!!!!!
Best tip I ever got for a phone interview: Put on a full suit/work outfit, do your hair, contacts, makeup, etc.

Your voice is a reflection of your confidence. If you're fully dressed and feeling awesome, you will sound awesome.

Put my resume up on Monster.ca and in 12 hours I received two emails from people asking me for interviews. :)
  • After a very long and exhaustive few months (Working retail this time of year is not that much fun) I finally have two weeks off on Holidays.

I'm also going to see Man United play the Aussie All-Star team in July and managed to get 3 weeks off then as well.

When I checked the amount of holidays I have after this are taken I will still 300+ hours.
  • New computer screen which is bigger than... I don't know. Went from a 19" square monitor to a 24" widescreen. Related rant: This is going to take me ages to get used to, but rave: I have way more room in mudlet to add things other than my chat capture box/map.

  • Large displays with giant resolutions ftw. I have a 22in wide and a 27in wide, the latter becoming mine when someone impulse bought a 42".

Cannot imagine trying to play on a 42" screen... that would be insane.

ETA: Mine was also free, so yay. Friend of my partner's upgraded, and gave us his old one. Works fine, it's bulky for a flat screen, but my desk is massive, and I don't cart my computer around, so no worries there.
