My dog used to eat chocolate on the regular by stealing it. A little dachshund that would climb bookshelves, jump onto tables from couches, whatever ninja'ing was required to get her fix. She lived to be 16 years old, and I suspect her specific brand of evil was only made stronger by that which should have killed her.
She got into the chicken once or twice too, because of course she did.
How toxic chocolate is to a dog depends on the type and quality. Something that's dark with a really high content is going to be a lot worse than the average milk chocolate Hershey's bar. Also, again, it's one of those things where one dog is just damn lucky its whole life, and another one gets extremely ill.
My aunt's boxer has gotten into chocolate and various other things, but the worst for him so far was the pound or two he ate of beef jerky. Tore into it and ate it all. Later that night he was making all kinds of noise howling and in pain. He drank TONS of water and kept my aunt up for several hours until he was finally feeling better.
My other aunt and my uncle had a dachschund. A lifetime of getting into things she shouldn't have eaten eventually caught up to her in her later years and she died due to some severe trouble with her digestive system.
On a catheter and saline drip and overnight monitoring for possible appendicitis. Odds are strong that I'll need surgery in the morning. The rave? THEY GAVE ME CUTE ORANGE BOOTIES FOR ME TO WALK AROUND IN!
Downloading both Dark Souls 3 and the Bash terminal update for windows.
Today is going to be a good day.
DARK SOULS 3 AAAHHHHHHH. The shitty part is that I have two tests this week and have to actually be responsible and study, so I'm not going to have that much time to play

You peeps need to stop being in hospitals and crap. Unless you work there, that's okay.
And I love too Be still, my indelible friend That love soon might end You are unbreaking And be known in its aching Though quaking Shown in this shaking Though crazy Lately of my wasteland, baby That's just wasteland, baby
Just spent the last few hours hanging out with @Frederich at this really relaxed gaming bar in town, after deciding that since we both live in the same small city in Tennessee we should meet. That was win.
@Kasya was pretty awesome. We had pizza. Talked about Achaea until my sister popped in. There was lots of fun and merrymaking and really hillarious karaoke night at the bar.
Despite some isolated things, happier than I've been in a while. Not looking forward to the first anniversary of my mother's death next week (23rd) but things are pretty great.
Farewell for the weekend, meatbags. Apparently our workplace has a
'company outing'(whatever that means) in some out-of-the-way location containing coves, beaches and other 'natural wonders'. Problem: no Internet or
electricity. How humans can survive in these locations continues to amaze me.
Embedded software development is....omg it makes me crazy. Double worse is that I'm working on a product that is literally life or death - if we mess up, people literally did. And we have a hard release date since the factory is already producing our product. All in all, much stress.
Cue today, where a new product was released. Entire company gets a launch party starting at 9 am. I'm a few mimosas deep and starting to be ok with how frustrating everything can be....
Today starts National Park Week here in the USA, so good time to get out and enjoy one of your favorites, or go see one you haven't visited yet. Think I might take advantage of this with my dog this week, but first... later today is day 2 of the street fair at our month long international Tulip Festival where they have all kinds of vendors, artists, bands, fair food, etc and have it all lined up on a street they shut down in our downtown area. So we're taking him to that, it'll be his first street fair. Then maybe a dog park visit after, we'll see.
Went to the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival street fair yesterday with my dog Chief and my grandparents. My grandma and I didn't have a ton of fun because everytime we take my grandpa somewhere he just rushes through the entire thing and then he wants to go home, and he wasn't even obligated to go so I'm not sure why he does. But anyways. Chief had a BLAST. His first family was a navy family on the military base out on Whidbey Island where he lived in an apartment and was underfed and generally not well taken care of. His second family, the ones I adopted him from, are an elderly retired couple I still keep in contact with. They only gave him up because he figured out how to escape the fence and would harass the neighbor's sheep. When he lived with them he was an outdoor dog 24/7 for nearly 2 years (vet thinks he's 4). So when he got to go to this street fair he was SO excited to see so many people and other dogs he couldn't contain his excitement the whole time. He loved greeting all the dogs, but loved even more all the human attention. People were petting, snuggling, and giving him belly rubs. People shared treats, snacks, and even their water bottles with him. He was in doggy heaven. Oddly, people kept taking his picture and even taking videos of him... some people asked, but there were a lot of people who didn't.
two crazy road trips with my son in last 7 days. windows down, radio turned up, lots of horsepower and wide open highway. rave worthy.
At one point early on I asked him to change the music to something less heavy. He said, "I think you need heavy if you are going to be rally racing through here." Ok, I admit this road was rough and narrow, but I was only going 40. This kid. I wouldn't give up his side seat driving comments for the world, though.
One of the guys at work was larping at the weekend with @Alcreadia and we get talking yesterday about it and Muds and my boss comes over to listen. He is mid 40's suit wearing Porsche driver type, but top bloke. I show him a 2H combat log and he starts talking about playing D&D growing up. Anyway. After a meeting with him today regarding some security testing I was doing he just turned to me and said "You may channel the fury of battle once more warrior".
