ANNOUNCE NEWS #4546 Date: 05/01/2016 at 00:01 From: Nicola To : Everyone Subj: May Promotion!
As April draws to a close, so to does the Wheel of Fortune and the 30% credit sale.
However, throughout May for every 100 credits you purchase, you'll earn a giftbag, with an extra bag awarded every 500 credits.
These giftbags contain many prizes, ranging from old favourites like the ice figurines to the very upper ranges of what is available from the artefact shops. There are also two new battle figurines for the avid collector, Ashaxei and Sycaerunax. For those that were unfortunate enough to miss their opportunity previously, there is a chance to obtain a Fluvian jar and Landstriders boots (both discontinued from the Shop of Wonders). Should you be feeling generous this May, aromatic velvet pouches are featured among the rewards. (As it is not February, the chocolates do not double in effect upon gifting.)
Finally, as well as your standard credit valued reward, each giftbag will contain one of our more popular consumable items, as follows:
A ball of Seftonium: EATing this item shall reset your class switch cooldown, allowing you to switch between classes in no time at all.
A cerulean lifestone: RUBbing this item shall heal you of all afflictions that you suffer from, even the otherwise fatal enlightenment or inquisition statuses.
A lucrescent nut: EATing this item shall temporarily transcend all of your class specific skills. This effect will last for 24 hours.
An ethereal shroud: WEARing this item will grant you the temporary function of a Veil of the Sphinx artefact! If you already own a Veil of the Sphinx, it will boost your veil's effectiveness. Once worn, these shrouds will begin to rapidly decay, lasting 2 Achaean days/RL hours from their first wearing.
Heron feathers: CARESSing this item will grant you a single trip to Clouds as if you were borne upon the wings of the eagles!
A Ledolian Surcoat: EMPOWERing the surcoat will grant the wielder +10 armour resistance to all elemental and physical damage. The surcoat has 10 charges, each lasting 1 Achaean day/RL hour and can be used once every 3 Achaean days/RL hours.
@Aesi told me he got an e-mail about it, but I never got one... didn't hear about it until yesterday when he brought it up SO EXCITED. Hoping for laser guns.

I checked my spam and achaea folder...
While I am sad 108% of my time in IRE muds will be spent there, I am really excited for it.

Yeah me too, never got anything... but I'm signed up for updates now!
It's funny - my roommate (another IRE player) and I were literally just discussing Tears of Polaris and the potential for another IRE sci-fi MUD over the weekend.
Unrelated but fun for me: Got a new job, for 30% extra pay with a company that looks pretty cool. GoFundMe is now going to be go funding my giftbags >_>
Gaaaaaaaaaah. I feel a second retirement coming on in 2017. >.>
If I weren't stupidly attached to Trey, I'd be the same. Have always wanted to go sci fi. If they have a gunslinger-esque class I am going to be sorely tempted.
I'll be debating the retirement option all year. However, I'd start out with a character I wouldn't mind throwing away. There's always a chance it won't click with me (I liked Aetolia, but didn't Lusternia) so I won't jump the gun without having played enough to know if it'd be worth it, or just start from the ground up with zero retirement credits.

Very nice, well done I just had salary details through for the job I was offered last week. I worked it out as a 98% pay rise with uncapped bonus possibility. Looks like everyone in Hashan is getting a veil!
Coming 2017? As in launching 2017? Polaris was 'in production' for like 3 years before being axed. This must have either been underway for some time, or else it's being produced by someone in whom @Sarapis has ridiculous faith to meet such a tight schedule and deliver a game worth of content in 12 months. @Tecton producing Starmourn, confirm/deny?
Started a new job that doesn't require as much lifting, so my back seems to be slowly getting better. This is a major, major rave for me. I don't know if any of you have ever had serious back issues, but the blinding pain was 100% worse than child birth in my case. I still have a lot of numbness, but the pain itself has reduced to a low-level throbbing rather than hot knives stabbing their way through my back.
I'm utterly thrilled!
Give us -real- shop logs! Not another misinterpretation of features we ask for, turned into something that either doesn't help at all, or doesn't remotely resemble what we wanted to begin with.
Thanks!
Current position of some of the playerbase, instead of expressing a desire to fix problems:
Vhaynna: "Honest question - if you don't like Achaea or the current admin, why do you even bother playing?"

Tears of Polaris was an entirely volunteer team, and it showed.
It's also safe to assume that we don't announce a new game upon deciding to start development on it.

I really wanted to ask all sorts of questions that would end up with profound and interesting conversations, but then I realized that most of them boiled down to "spoilers, plz!" and "why am I not playing this yet?!?"
You know, that one thing at that one place, with that one person.

Though sci-fi isn't typically my genre, BSG was amazing and the game premise is promising.
1:40 later, when I noticed the "A new MUD from Iron Realms Entertainment" a light finally clicked on. Nexus client!
Yea, that one!
