Got my first NAM. It's an end of tour, so it's kind of expected. Still, I am happy!

A Christmas card from my friend in Florida arrived today. I thought it might have gotten lost in the mail because it was posted early in December. It's exciting because she makes her own cards every year using her artwork, and she sends me Peeps for Easter, Halloween, and Christmas.
I mastered chicken today too. Nicely marinaded in soy/garlic and cooked to tender perfection. It turned out absolutely delicious and so mouth watering. Cooking is so new for me still and I get really excited when the things I cook turn out better than what my father makes. He was taught to cook by his mother and she used to cook for Hitler. Some day I hope to be that skilled but I figure I have time.

I'm not going to say it, but there are so many Hitler 'cooking' jokes fighting their way to escape my mouth(hands) that I feel like I'm losing my mind.
I say apparantly because I totally forgot it was that day already untill somebody poked me on facebook.
That line should probably be in rants, but hey!
I haz cake.
Aurora says, "Tharvis, why are you always breaking things?!" Artemis says, "You are so high maintenance, Tharvis, gosh." Tecton says, "It's still your fault, Tharvis."
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has a thing kind of like globes in Achaea that you pay to open up, you have to buy the keys. On a feeling, even though I'm broke, I bought two keys ($5.00ish). I pulled a rifle on the first that usually sells for $10.00, and a super rare knife on the second that sells for $100+. Ended up giving the rifle away because I already got insanely lucky, why be greedy?
EDIT: Steam Wallet 100 fatter, I have now pre-ordered the new Thief yayyyyy
my two private students who were going for Junior All-State band got 2nd and 4th chair, respectively (in a section of 16). 2nd chair kid is currently working on 3-octave scales XD.

Full-range scales or GTFO.
Seriously, that's great they're approaching that stuff now.
So I am in a One Piece rp on a chat site. It pretty much turned into a Zoan vs. Zoan pro wrestling match. You'll have to take my word for it, but it is SO AWESOME.
First day back to work from the vacation. I picked up a class I had no idea was on the team of my favourite kids - what a lovely surprise!
Gushing compliments of "OH MY GOD MISS C YOU'RE OUR FAVORITE SUBSTITUTE NEVER LEAAAAAVE" ensued, and I giggled inside while maintaining a stoically polite thank you. All classes save one were lovely, and the one "bad" class wasn't really bad, they just would not shut up.
Breakfast and lunch were more filling than I've ate at home lately (haha) and so I'm a stuffed, happy, tired substitute. I wish I could always sub for these kids. It's like there's an inability to have a bad day with them.
Also, the teacher I subbed for today has a sign on his door that says "You're now in the dragonslayer zone. Enter if you dare."
I love cool teachers almost as much as I love awesome students. :x
And I love too Be still, my indelible friend That love soon might end You are unbreaking And be known in its aching Though quaking Shown in this shaking Though crazy Lately of my wasteland, baby That's just wasteland, baby
Awesometacular Hubby picked up new blood pressure med for me on his way home (which is actually technically really out of the way for him but I was le tired) so hopefully this will get taken care of ASAP (doc said to call back on Weds with my numbers from monitoring at home) because running an average of 170/110 for the past month is not good for a regular person, let alone a bun-cooking preggo. (I feel fine otherwise and all my labs have come pristine (including a 1-hour fasting glucose and two 24-hour jugs, it's just these numbers).
Bonus: Hubby also bought me a Cadbury creme egg. Who needs crack when it's CADBURY EGG SEASON???
Coming to the purely theoretical realization that Florida is actually Hell. Notice how it's still hot while Canada's freezing? Fire pits for ya. And that's where all our old folks go when they decide they're done paying taxes... and what is the only inescapable thing in life beside taxes? Death! It all makes sense now. *nolongerjealousbutnotparticularlybrighter*
So much rain all day long. I don't think it's stopped drizzling when the downpour finally slowed down. Temp's been sitting on a cool 25°C (77°F) and I can only see it dropping further overnight. Today's been a pretty good day.
