Woke up and realised that my internet is surprisingly still on after I cancelled it. Logged in and saw the announce. Thought gee I hope they gave fluid bonus back. (Nope) Did this...
Looking over Lilian, you see that:
10 PHLEGMATIC
10 CHOLERIC
3 MELANCHOLIC
Her health is at 5556 out of 5254.
Her mana is at 4778 out of 5113.
105 93
105 93
She is not bleeding.
You have recovered equilibrium.
Lilian eats a ginger root.

Strongly considered going back to bed. Got jumped twice for a buggy relic, then Jinsun logged off or took off or something and left his ents in Thera attacking me while I was trying to do logosmas quests.
So was she eating ginger while you were tempering? Because if you can still get two humours to 10 while they're spamming ginger, can't you (wrack for some high prio afflictions? sorry I really have no idea how Alchemist works) to reset the ginger count? It sounds like it has to be consecutive ginger eats to give such an effect.
That was an extreme example that wouldn't happen in combat. She turned curing off for me to get those fluid levels and then back on to see if the consecutive ginger bonus was a constant. It was.
In practice, she would eat 2-3 ginger every 3-5 tempers unless she was close to being locked and it would completely drain her fluid. While I was going full temper/truewrack with her only using plants and tree, she regularly drained her fluid to 0 after a small build. I didn't want to post something that size here though.
I really don't like playing an affliction class and the fluid was a twist on combat that made alchemist interesting to me, but it's feeling more and more like a really slow serpent with a fraction of the afflictions, hence the FML sentiment to my post.
There are so many other interesting things that could be done with fluid instead of just making it harder and harder to get fluid levels. Like instead of an instant lock, phlegmatic inundation could lay on gradually like hypnosis, or scatter fluids into the other humours, or give a bonus to tempering for a few tempers, or, hell, I've been almost-silently wishing for a bone marrow humour. Phlegmatic was definitely too strong after the last classlead; before we only had to stick asthma and get 16 fluids (10 phlegmatic, 3 sanguine, 3 melancholic), now we can stick any of asthma, paralysis, or impatience and only need 7 phlegmatic (10 if opponent has fitness) and none of the other humours. A nimble alchemist will lock you in under 20 seconds if you don't get your fluid down (and subtract 5 seconds from the lock if they manage to catch you with any 2 of those afflictions instead of 1), and that's not right, but that's just monopolising on phlegmatic like a jerk. Class is getting boring as hell by taking fluid away, though, so fix phlegmatic instead ffs.
The fluid changes really suck for alchemist, seriously she couldn't get my fluids past 4 where yesterday it was easy to get them past 5. So maybe you can just not make comments like that without understanding the class fully.
From fighting alchemists today, they were able to lock me entirely eventually with a little effort. No it's not as easy as it was, but it's not that she can't win as alchemist it's that she doesn't know how yet most classes do take some practice and finesse to pull something off on people. So she's not able to pull off a twelve count sanguine humor for a. 1500 bleed just by doing that and paralysis ( I'll be honest I don't remember a ton of specifics) and yes she has to press harder now but new alchemist is not just destroyed it's just more moderate instead of god mode .
This is what happened to me today: my class got less interesting to me. Again. Because I like playing with fluids. If I wanted to play an affliction class and do nothing but lock people, I'd be something else. I don't care if what fluid does gets changed. It's the fact that I'm watching fluid become less and less of a thing that is making me lose interest in my class.
edit: Also - All I want for Logosmas is a bone marrow humour. Who do I gotta blow?
I guess I missed that it was an RP thing? I'm so confused by this... It still has a lot to do with fluids, it's just that fluids don't stack -so- fast. Fluids plus fast truewracking had to give. So fluids gave. Sure, it's a different tactic, but it still relies on fluids. You can't really lock without tempering. The fluids is literally what puts you ahead of herb balance. I can understand that it's less interesting. I just think it's a really healthy thing for the class, and there is still a ton of RP and interest to be had in alchemist. I was planning on going alchemist/Occultist after renaissance just for the mystical RP stuff. Changes are hard to adjust to, but don't let it turn you completely off. I really hated Occultist for awhile, but then I learned that I could trick people into simple death tarot kills and it was a whole new style for me, and it became really fun. Give it some time.

Not sure how things are in Cyrene, but most of us outside don't, uh, 'blow' to get what we want (whatever that means)
edit: feel like I should add my two cents as well asides from a jokejab: Playing with fluids may be fun to you, but it takes flexibility and viability to win a fight instead of just 'fun'. I'd like to get kills via demon corrupt too, but sadly it's not viable unless I invest heavily in Int arties. It looks fun as hell.
Adding a bone marrow humour for alchemists would be like adding a uranium elemental channel for mages.
so, it would be awesome?
Aurora says, "Tharvis, why are you always breaking things?!" Artemis says, "You are so high maintenance, Tharvis, gosh." Tecton says, "It's still your fault, Tharvis."
Attended a nearly 2 hour conversation about unity with @Aodfionn in Cyrene (Probably his biggest attendance yet. A dozen non-devotional Cyrenians? Ones that weren't even heckling? Holy Hell!). I'm honoured that I have the pleasure of being around a Targossian that is making an effort to work on relations with Cyrene. Looking forward to the future!

Finished proposal to the city.
Stared to hunt, but decided that I was way too lazy, and tired.
My pillow's looking pretty damned good.

P.s I deserve respect for not making the obvious 'playing with fluids' joke.

My year is up, too. I have a bunch scheduled this month. Good luck.
