SL need to get behind Twilight/Hashan or GTFO. At least there won't even be an SL to cause problems for a faction trying so hard to be an actual faction for much longer

@Synbios it has already begun and will hopefully be over before then, but will doubtlessky end by then.
I'm pretty sure that House's expiration date is already printed in the Renaissance, anyway.
It was some time ago actually, they're just really starting to stink now.
Truef. The Hashani House treaty and the need for all the Houses in that particular city to align under one divine was the beginning of the end (in my eyes anyway - there was a reason the SL and SW broke away from that darn thing at one point!). I'm sure others could go back further, but that's the first inkling I had that it was time to GTFO of cities and just enjoy playing the game as a rogue that didn't have to cowtow to anyone or anything unless she chose to do so.
Personally, I find the cities pretty boring now. It seems like the political element of the game has been somewhat diminished. I enjoyed the years when treaties between Houses created voting blocks and maintaining those treaties sometimes created all kinds of roleplay and further conflict.
That said, I see no reason for conflict between the SL and Hashan. What's done is done. Gut the House resources, distribute equally when possible, go find new Houses that routinely raid Hashan/dismantle Twilight shrines, and enjoy the game again.

Has been quite the unanimous decision already to no longer see the SL as a hashani house!
Aurora says, "Tharvis, why are you always breaking things?!" Artemis says, "You are so high maintenance, Tharvis, gosh." Tecton says, "It's still your fault, Tharvis."
Well, we have been slowly trimming the fat for some time now. Expelling the Crown Merchant influence and now the obstinate SerpentLords are the last major obstacle. Meanwhile the city has seen in turn the flourishing of a strong core no longer impeded by all the contrarians. It's also exciting to see that core made up of a lot of new characters and not just the old guard.
I think these events will help shape what the renaissance will look like in Hashan and will only aid it in the long run.
Hashan expelled the Merchants? That's now how I remember it.
We manipulated Hashan into a form ill-suited to the goals of the Merchants until they made the decision to leave, thinking that decision was theirs to make all along.
Thats like, Darkwalkin' at its finest, yo.
he totally meant the merchant influence, as in, political influence. though if he did, FAILED, I'm still a merchant! And a regent!

Indeed, though you are one of the good one ones who got with the program. @jacen is also right in his assessment as well. High marks to @Achimrst in trolling, not so high in reading comprehension.

Hm.
Kyttin, you traitor
Moral of the story: Stay out of rites, spam thurisaz, win at everything forever.
Hopefully once it's done, Hashan as a city can improve overall.

Edit: Now to sit here and wait to see if people figure out what I mean

Consolation: Hopefully, the Renaissance will inject a new infusion of players as well.
