Sorry dude. For what it's worth, I genuinely was stoked on the history lesson and am glad I got to interact with you. I'm sorry you didn't enjoy the interaction, though for what it's worth, that kind of thing seems like it could go really well with the hopes you expressed in 'Achaean Regrets,' in terms of giving Kakotas a boot in the rear to move in a given direction.
@Kakotas - Something to learn early, if you can allow yourself to (I know I still struggle with this): Take the bad with the good, interaction-wise. You can and will have negative interactions, just like we have negative experiences irl. It can be very rough and draining, especially if you're attached to your character. Alas, Achaea is not all roses, rainbows, puppies and kittens. But the best thing to do is get through the interaction with as much grace (or whatever your character would have, truly, including rage fits) as possible, then taking some time out to let your mind reset from the experience, whether you do this by hanging around other people IC to let you relax, or you just log off and do something else for a bit.
Then later on, you can re-examine what happened, how you (and your character) reacted, and then what you feel is the next steps from there. What would your character do now? Is there more response you need to give to the people? Do you re-address the issue? If not, are there people you should discuss the issue with? How does your character feel, what makes sense to do?
It's an extremely difficult skill to gain and be good at, and you constantly have to refine it, but you will appreciation it, yourself, and your character more in the end.
And I love too Be still, my indelible friend That love soon might end You are unbreaking And be known in its aching Though quaking Shown in this shaking Though crazy Lately of my wasteland, baby That's just wasteland, baby
Aodfionn I enjoyed parts of it but your compatriot needs to learn tact. Awakening elders are an entirely different breed of achaean. He was there to prove a point more than to discuss things and he made that apparent it rather ruined the interaction.
(Blades of Valour): He just has that Synbios Swagger enough said. (Blades of Valour): Draekar says: "Synbios if sunbeams sparkle off that I'll kill you where you stand."
(Party) Halos says, "Disbar?" (Party) Draekar says, "You know here we have disbar." (Party) Draekar says, "And over there we have datbar."
Yesterday, passed my long belated Initiate tasks. I couldn't figure out what direction I wanted to go with alchemical 'research', and finally came up with a totally badass eventual specialty.

Tl;dr: I'm older, so I know and you don't, therefore shut up and just nod?
ETA: Legit question, not just trying to rile you up- but is that really what you meant to say?
Nope. But walking into Elysian chambers and then demanding an Elysian that just woke up and is grieving do anything without any knowledge or understanding is down right discourteous. First time I've awoken in 70+ years and they start making demands straight out the gate? That's bad manners OOC and IC. Kakotas thought He was there to give a history lesson not face the inquisition. The former He was glad of the latter he was not.

Just as your role is solid and well-cemented, some peoples' role is to be The Law, and if you run afoul of The Law, then I don't think it's entirely fair to sip haterade on the player - they're just strictly adhering to the role they chose, same as you.

That's because nobody expects the Targossian inquisition!
@Kakotas: For what it is worth, there are IC obligations that I have to live up to. I'm sorry that you felt disenchanted by the whole interaction, but chief among any of my IC priorities is ensuring that all Devotionists are in the Diaspora. They don't even have to -do- anything explicitly (for a while) once they're in there, they just need to be in there.
When you refuse to do that for whatever reason, then I have to hoist the excom bat on my shoulder and be a little intimidating about it. I'm not Rho, though - I'm not just going to slap you with it straight away after you've just come out of dormancy, but I am going to loom until I extract a tangible decision from you because if it is found out that I haven't, I'll get into trouble for it. A lot of trouble.
RP is a two-way park. The history lesson was pretty cool, but nobody is ever there to explicitly listen. Interaction requires multiple people, and my end goal with that whole thing was to try and reinforce with you that things are indeed different now, and that you will need to make some difficult choices in the coming days.
Personally, I very much enjoyed Valeo's exchange with the Targossan Inquisitiorial Squad (even before I knew Lorielan would show up to No-smash you!), or whoever you guys are, but I get where Kakotas is coming from. If I hadn't already been completely comfortable with where Valeo is going, etc., it might have been extremely off-putting. I'm all about you guys having control over Devotion, but, it very much has the possibility of not being much fun for anyone else if taken too far.
Gown and mask both came in! So super excited! Thanks @Kotaru for making me such pretty stuff, even if your kinky little mind decided to be a little off on some of it :P
I bought too much rum, @Shirszae now thinks I want her drunk
Aurora says, "Tharvis, why are you always breaking things?!" Artemis says, "You are so high maintenance, Tharvis, gosh." Tecton says, "It's still your fault, Tharvis."

Not precisely ON the game anymore, but oh sigh, the memories...

Went to look at a car -took the pops who is more car savvy than I am- ...Turn it on, sounds GREAT!...Hold break, put it in reverse, engine moves 1 foot. O.O....So...no car. And we already bought celebratory wine to drink. I blame the wine, it's the wines fault.
BUT I did however, make this Loaded Bake Potato dip that is delicious. I'm going to drink wine, and get fatter on the dip. Someone hide my credit card tonight! Don't need to randomly buy credits again.

Today I got to be bummed that I'm not popular enough to get invited to the ball with all the cool, popular kids. It's just a little disheartening to see all the people that couldn't get tickets on their own getting invited, to the point that the final attendance includes most of the big names.
On the other hand, huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge love for @vastar for keeping me from being able to be all that depressed about the whole thing. I don't think I've ever gotten to have any real personal interaction with a denizen, so getting a four hour theology discussion with Zure was basically just a dream come true. (also, mad props for just putting up with me during that whole thing. I can be trying at the best of times, and that's only more true when I'm feeling disagreeable)

Take comfort in the fact that every single one of those current 'big names' were newbies at one point far after the early generation of players started, and looked at as such by the big names at the time. Someday you too can be one of them. It's the circle of life!

That thought was far more comforting three or four years ago. I just feel behind where I aught to be in your circle. >.>
(especially given how many of the people who've managed to become popular are significantly newer then me U.U)
