I hear the S.T.A.L.K.E.R series might be in a similar vein, @Jovolo. My friends have played them before and from what I've heard, they're excellent. A bit dated, but excellent.

They are great games, but do need a couple mods, balances it a bit better and clears up a lot of bugs. Especially for the first game. You can play them completely mod free and enjoy it, but might have some problems the developers never fixed.
Been playing BF4 for a good bit. They're working on Hardline, but apparently there's a colab issue that might stall it. Kinda like BF but cops and robbers style. Interesting spinoff.
Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor is pretty damn fun. Recommend grabbing it at some point!
I was not anticipating this game until about a week and a half ago - I think I saw some gameplay video about the "nemesis" system and was intrigued. I didn't think I was going to love the game as much as I do! I've heard some people criticize it because it's basically the best of the Arkham games (free-flow combat system), the best of the Assassin's Creed games (interactions with NPCs, "brotherhood" building) and the best of the side-lore of LotR.
And so I have to ask... what's so bad about that?
And the Nemesis system... wow. There's an interesting thing that happens about 25% of the way through the game and you suddenly find yourself unable to turn the game off until you take care of one... more... orc... and then WHAM! BAM! another Uruk steps up to take his place and wants to exact vengeance.

Agree with what you have said. It is a great mix of those other games and the nemesis system has had me wandering the land looking for captains to fight and kill just so I can see what the next one will be like, they all have their own flavor.
Getting Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. Anyone in on this? PS3, and maybe lucky to play 5 hours a month
Been playing it a bit on PC. If you like Borderlands, you will like this, it is more Borderlands hehe.
Side note for anyone interested - I have an extra code for Borderlands the Pre-sequel from buying a nvidia card, would be willing to trade it for like 75 achaean credits. Half the cost of the game right now. Already had bought copies for Lannah, Amaranda and I, and was too close to release to get a refund for mine and use the code. So it is just sitting there going to waste.
Very excited about Dragon Age. Started playing the whole Mass Effect series from the start again as well as the Dragon Age series all to prepare myself.
I am very very angry that Beyond Earth was not released for Linux on the same day as the Windows version as was originally said. There is not even a date anymore. WTF?
Not loving the new Civilization. Its ok, but the health (happiness) of your nation is crazy to try and keep up with. There is very limited number of units and the tech web is clunky feeling. Lacking in the flavor department as well, the nations really don't feel at all different, unlike Civ 5 with unique units and buildings.
been playing Faster Than Light for the past two weeks now. Gawd I suck at this game. farthest I got was the second stage of the final boss -on easy mode-.

I recommend getting the cloak and weapon pre-igniter. Cloak really helps avoid the drones on boss level 2.
You can also download the mod that delays the rebel fleet. Use the extra time to try and figure out what works for you and then remove it when you want a challenge again.

Edit - the code is PC, in case anyone wonders.
