  • How much of a balance reduction is Nimble? 10%?
  • @Rexia Yes, 10%.  3s balance goes to 2.7, etc.  Same for Quick Witted and EQ.

  • Ah, thank you.  Was able to find a couple of vids and pictures, really helps with picturing what is actually happening

Horkval is 10% blunt/cutting resistance. Does stack with any other resistances.
so you're telling me that Algiz is a level 2 resistance? Because isn't that what Horkval is? (They may have changed the wording to Very Resistant to cutting/blunt but if it was Level 1 wouldn't it just be Resistant to cutting/blunt) And so for 10% Algiz would have to be a level 2 resistance.... when I thought Runes were just level 1's (regen, 1 con)

    I'm confused ><
  • I don't know about any "levels" of resistance, but Horkval is a straight 10% to cutting and blunt, while algiz is a 10% to all damage types (even "unblockable").

I'm not aware of levels of resistance because I don't think there is any such scaling of 1,2,3 in terms of resistance, just different specific benefits for different specific defenses (demon armour, diamond skin, stoneskin) that all work differently such as working from the INT stat or skill level, and aimed at different damage types.

Resistances were previously referred to as level 1, 2 and 3. So were things like balances and and regeneration.

A lot of terminology seems to have changed recently.

Edit: I suspect that Horkval resistances to blunt and cutting are what we older players would have referred to as level 1 now. Because if Horkval still had the same kind of bonuses they had pre-traits and racial specialisations, they'd be the clear best race for almost all classes.
  • The balance and regeneration make sense, because they're the same across the board in terms of increasing "levels", but resistances in the game have existed for years in the same incarnation as they are now. It's hard to contrast Diamond Skin to Algiz, for example, because the exact level of their efficiency is calculated complexly. It isn't just 5%, 10% and 20% resistance to all damage. Calling it level 1, 2 and 3 seems overly simplistic.

If you want the exact formula's, I'm sure @Sena has most of them. Speaking of which, I'm curious if you know specifically what resistance is provided by: Demon Armour, Diamond Skin, Stone Skin, Bark Skin and Dragon Armour? Anyone else please feel free to chime in.
  • The only place where resistances were referred to with a level was racial stats, where each level was 10%. Now most of those just say "resistant" (which is 5%) or "very resistant" (10%). Dragon still uses the old terminology, I'm not sure if that's still 10% per level though.

Beyond that, resistances don't have levels, that was just a convenient way to refer to them.
  • @Sena - any idea on the above defences I mentioned?

My notes say barkskin is cutting resistance only, 10% at trans (it scales with elementalism), but that's probably outdated. I don't have any numbers for stone/diamondskin, but I think stoneskin is primarily blunt resistance with just a bit of cutting, and diamondskin is pure blunt resistance, and both scale with intelligence and elementalism. No idea at all on demon/dragon armour.

Anyone know if the statues sold in Targossas don't move once they're dropped, like the braziers from Lothos, or if you can still pick them up?

  • My recollection is that dragonarmour acts as actual armour, rather than a resistance. No idea if that's correct or not, and if so what the equivalent stats would be.
  • I could have sworn there was a command added recently that let you read the latest news post in a section without finding the number first (something like "readnews announce latest"), but I can't find the command, or any reference to it in news or help files. Did I just imagine it?

There's "nstat catchup <section>", but that doesn't actually show the post.

Stoneskin is mostly blunt with some cutting while diamondskin is mostly cutting with some blunt.
  • Do things like loki that give a random affliction skip afflictions you already have, if you don't have all the possible ones? For example, if I have paralysis, and get hit with loki, is there a chance that it will hit me with paralysis again, effectively doing nothing, or will it only draw from the pool of afflictions I don't already have? And is the behaviour the same for all such abilities?
  • I think they just add random afflictions without considering if you have it or not, but the only basis for my reasoning is the fact that I often have less afflictions than times I've been hit when fighting loki denizens, so it's not very controlled testing and it only accounts for loki.
  • @Eld Yes, to both questions. There's also the possibility that if you don't get hit with an affliction, when hit with Loki, that it tried applying shivering / sensitivity / sleep and ended up stripping caloric / deafness / insomnia instead.

  • You definitely get a message for caloric being stripped (but not for shivering/frozen being afflicted), pretty sure there are messages for insomnia and deafness being stripped as well. If there isn't one for deafness it's trackable from your prompt anyway.

There definitely is for insomnia, not sure about deafness.

  • Is there a command to see how many hours you've spent in the game?
  • I think that shows up in SCORE 2.

If not, SCORE F should also have it.

SCORE 2, but it will eventually make your heart weep.
