It is messing up the wares list, and I need to price both vials separately because of their weight difference. I wouldn't mind the weight difference if pricing was unaffected.

Why is the color yellow not a color you can dye your arrows with? Just seems silly that one of the primary colors isn't one you can use.

Edit: not that I actually care or anything haha, I'm just curious.

  • Because gold is available, I assume, and it would look pretty much the same? On the other hand, grey is available despite silver being as well.

It's the opposite actually. They weigh different because you have to price them differently - or at least, because of the reason for that. You bought them at different shops, and while they might be named the same, they're not the same 'base item'.

  • That makes no sense... I mean I understand, but the system itself seems nonsensical.

Which classes have the most expensive upkeep? Is it Knights? Occultists?
Not so sure about other classes, but Runewardens are very expensive/high upkeep. There's inks, and there's also armour/weapons. I've spent over 200 credits forging fullplate, and the best I have is 105/90. We need two weapons, and level 1-2 arties are considered junk, so that's 3200cr for artie weapons, or you have to keep finding two high quality rapiers that match somewhat every time they decay. We also have the only trade skill you cannot guarantee making money off when you use it.

Of the knight classes, Runewardens are the most expensive.  Runelore requires the use of inks which you get either mill yourself (which requires additional steps of gathering or buying the reagents) or purchase from someone else.  All knights have the same forging problems that Katzchen mentioned, though it should be noted you don't need to necessarily min/max your fullplate to that degree.  Also you can easily just wait for a TF, train up forging to like fabled so you can forge a fullplate within that 24 hour window (borrow a hammer of forging).  Fullplate never decays so you can put it behind you after awhile.

I actually think Runewardens are more expensive than Occies in most cases, in addition from each dsl costing about 5 gold, if you have to repair totems, carve totems, rune allies (each one costing you a green, a purple and 3 yellows) you can burn through a lot if you are active.

Try every tarot card costing 20 gold, pacting can cost a few thousand if you go that route, and venoms, and weapons that you tend to buy in bulk if you don't have a 'special' one!

Don't get me wrong, it used to be a whole lot worse when Occultist was very tarot reliant, but it still mounts up.
The sweltering heat of the forge spills out across the land as the rumbling voice of Phaestus booms, "I want you to know, the Garden reaction to that one is: What?"
The voice of Melantha, Goddess of the Seasons, echoes amid the rustle of leaves, "That's the censored version."

Why would anyone use gold for pacts, karma is super easy to get and the eschaton has a bajillion pages in it (plus a dragon can farm up hundreds pretty quickly).  And knights are way more particular about their venoms and weapons than an occie would be.

I probably spend 4k in gold on inks just getting allies ready before fights, I doubt any individual Occultist post-dopplenerf uses 200 tarots in a hour.

I was going through several hundred ink each day during the Targossan-Mhaldor war, it was kinda nuts! Was often up to or over 100 blue/red/yellow and 50 purple/green.

If you're going to count inkmilling and gathering as 'free', you really have to consider the cost to trans it as well as the time spent using it. Before I went runie I made enough to pay off the credits spent on the skills selling ink, but I doubt most people use it enough for that.

Is there any way to make a forged weapon reset to me like other artifacts? I understand there's no way to make something non-decay.

    Viva la Bluef.
  • Nah.

    Would devalue artefacts.

  • What.. how would paying an extra fifty credits, while not adding non-decay, devalue artefacts? If anything it would be a very slight theft nerf and smaller boost to profits for Achaea.

  • For whatever reason you can't get resetting without non-decay. Whether that's because of legacy code or simply an admin decision I don't know, but it isn't something that's likely to change.
  • The stats on level two artefact rapiers really aren't bad, by the way, especially for a Runewarden; assuming most non-Runewarden knights will rarely have weapon runes, they're better than are Soulpiercers for the other two classes, and at half the price. There's also a certain amount of value placed on never having to worry about being dodged that you don't get with a lot of forged weapons, but it's nowhere near impossible to exceed level two rapiers in terms of damage and speed.

    Yay more easy ones.

    1) Because 50cr < 300/800/1600cr, so no, no boost to profits.
    2) Keeping resetting exclusive to artefacts adds value and differentiates from stock..
    3) RE theft: Slight = 100% in this case. "Your wife is slightly dead and has been cremated." Theft proof.

    Keep them coming.

Yeah, I asked about that in the ideas thread recently, they said no. :( I even asked about an artie that's more expensive than regular returning.

The upcoming weapon changes were cited as part of the reason why - I'm rather curious about them, now.

Anyone have an order-of-magnitude approximation for the dimensions of Achaea's wilderness map?
Going very roughly by the parts known to me, about 1040 x 1733 tiles.

  • It'd be nice to be able to make forged stuff resetting without nondecay just to avoid accidentally smelting it, or dropping it when the fist sigil decays and you don't notice... theft, well unlikely for that to work anyway, but still a bonus.

  • Should magi have more CON or more INT? Is 14/14 good enough or would make the magi too weak for eventual combat?
  • It's all level, baby. Con before 90. INT after.
