They do let you test artefacts out before you buy them, afaik, for the record!
They do indeed. Generally they'll give you an artifact for an hour or two to test out, if you ask.

I'm a retiree from another IRE mud and I was just wondering how I get one of those awesome blademaster swords. I found Murad, but greeting him doesn't seem to do anything. Do I need to reach a specific level or do something else to get my sword?
Murad polishes the steel with a fine cloth, inspecting the blade for any imperfections. Finding none, he turns and reverently presents the sword to you with both hands. Murad exclaims, "I give you Reigning Wolf!"
Forged from a crimson-tinged alloy of the finest steel and gold, this blade exhibits a barely-perceptible curve along its length, accentuated by a triple groove carved into the metal. The short tang is encased by a grip of snowy cord in an intricate braided pattern. Rounding off the grip is a round pommel fashioned from gold, affording perfect balance to this masterfully crafted weapon. It has 250 months of usefulness left. It weighs about 5 pounds. It bears the distinctive mark of Elynithara.
That is because technical has become synonymous with automation. In light of this, what degree of automation is seen as obnoxious here? I like to code and run analytics, but I don't want to inflict my passion for it on others where it is unwelcome.
After testing, it seems like the +2 strength from fury does not add raw damage to scimitar DSL, but in fact increases the cutting resist penetration in a very similar fashion to mastery. Thus why it doesn't seem to affect mob damage at all, since mobs generally don't have resists (or just aren't affected by penetration.)

Sure, but that only helps if you're able to actually see the difference within the testing period. If the artefact provides a modest increase in damage, such that the difference won't be obvious at the level of precision you can get from consider or assess or whatever, a test period isn't going to be nearly as useful as if you could just smack your falcon a couple times and see how much improvement the artefact actually provides.
Also, bugs happen. My level 3 blademaster band was actually acting as a level 2 for months, and the only reason I ever realized it was bugged was because I was testing drawslash damage with different stances/bands/strength and noticed that I was doing the same damage with my level 3 as Rom was with his level 2. With the current level of available precision in damage data, I'm not sure I could have concluded with any confidence that the band was bugged, and chances are good that I wouldn't have bothered with that kind of testing to begin with.
The math, numbers, testing, quantifying, etc. played a big part in me remaining interested and invested in Achaea for 12+ years. And like Eld said, a lot of bugs have been found by players digging into the specific details of how things work and how they're calculated.
And even without specific numbers, people still claim that certain classes are far better than others (even if the difference is small or the class isn't actually better), and people still flock to or avoid certain classes because of (perceived) bashing superiority/inferiority, so it doesn't seem to make much of a difference in that regard, the exact same types of decisions are being made for the exact same reasons, just with less information/accuracy. Though I'm slightly biased, being that person who tests and documents the DPS of every class.
Am I supposed to be able to squeeze my clown multiple times in one day? Every time I try to squeeze it after the first, it says it wouldn't recommend me doing that.

Could someone help me understand Talisman sets a little better? I understand there are multiple talisman sets and that some are collected through bashing others through credit purchases and most can be collected through trading. What is the best way to go about collecting them? or best way to know what to look for or where to look for them? or understand their value for that matter and how many of each you need. I don't quite get how it works. Thanks for any advice.

Depends on the set. Most are from promotions, but the dragon talismans, and anything from the Azatlan sets are drops from mobs. Your best bet is probably just attempting to buy over MARKET or through the TALISMAN MARKET (though you'll probably get a better deal on a complete set for most stuff). Most talismans only take one of each piece, except for Azatlan and Dragon, which take up to 64 of each, depending on the level required, which can be seen with TALISMAN INFO <talisman>. Two level one pieces make a level two, two level twos make a level three, etc.
We're aware some people are very much for it and others are equally against. However, we have to pick one of the two options at the end of the day, and we feel the second is best for the integrity of the game world and the immersive environment that we are trying to create and foster.b
People out there are not concerned over other people collecting information in a way that does not affect them.
I would be very, very, very surprised if you have even a single person who is mad about that Sena is able to collect data.
Maybe they're bothered that data is in their face, but not that someone else can access it via some means they don't need to use.
To hide it seems like just you guys hiding your lack of design and balance from the scrutiny of people who naturally like this information.
Otherwise it'd be just as easy to implement something that pleased both people - like the ability to make your prompt either exact numbers or a percentage of health.
And on that note, I'm ducking back into the shadows. Please don't zap me

But Gattan'bahar has like 14k crs worth of artefacts, that feels like we'd be devaluing her investment.
